Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser

Beauty Shot

Overview

The Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser is Starfleet’s latest innovation in the super-capital line of starships. After analyzing the performance of the Odyssey class during the Iconian War and Hur’q Invasion, Starfleet engineers have implemented a variety of recommendations made by Chief Engineer Kirayoshi O’Brien and Captain Va’Kel Shon of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-F). These alterations include an improved hangar deck to accommodate small craft operations, large command and control systems for fleet coordination, and dual-cannon hardpoints for increased firepower. Of course, the Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser retains the Odyssey class’ impressive suite of existing capabilities and still represents one of the most advanced starships in Starfleet’s armada.

Strengths

Few ships have a reputation as good as that of the Odyssey class, in all of its variations. That reputaion is well-deserved; from the original T5 versions through the T6 upgrades, many have considered the Odyssey variants some of the finest cruisers in Star Trek Online.

The Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser, like its predecessors, is everything a cruiser should be: sturdy, capable, and impresive-looking.

Equipment

This build uses easily-obtained equipment, including only standard gear and pieces which can be obtained through Fleet Holdings and/or mission rewards. See below for upgrade suggestions using more difficult-to-obtain gear.

Clearly, upgrading gear to Mark XV and Epic quality will provide the best results. However, see the Suggested Upgrades section below before heavily investing in gear you may be replacing before long.

Since the Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser comes with every console ever included in a version of the Odyssey, this ship comes with a staggering array of them: six consoles in total. All of them have been included in this build, but it may be worth considering consoles from other sources as well. For an example of consoles we used an another beam-based cruiser build, check out our build for the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser.

Also, because the Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser is a big ship with a somewhat slow turning rate, we have opted to avoid torpedoes on this build to maximize DPS potential. If you can't live without a torpedo, we'd recommend using the Trilithium Tricobalt Torpedo Launcher from "Beyond the Nexus" for its synergy with the Trilithium-Enhanced Omni-Directional Phaser Beam Array and Console - Engineering - Reinforced Armaments.

Weapons

Like many large cruisers, while the Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser is capable of mounting dual cannons, as a general practice we wouldn't recommend it. The Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser is a bit unwieldy to try to always keep enemies in a forward arc, and under normal use it's going to perform better as a beam boat.

Fore Weapons

  • Phaser Beam Array (x4)

Aft Weapons

  • Phaser Beam Array (x3)
  • Trilithium-Enhanced Omni-Directional Phaser Beam Array from the "Beyond the Nexus" mission in the New Frontiers arc.

Using the Trilithium-Enhanced Omni-Directional Phaser Beam Array with Console - Engineering - Reinforced Armaments provides the two-piece bonus from the Trilithium-Laced Weaponry set which increases flight speed and weapon fire rates.

Deflector

  • Elite Fleet Intervention Protomatter Deflector Array from the Fleet Colony holding

The Elite Fleet Intervention Protomatter Deflector Array provides additional Impulse Expertise, as well as bonuses to Weapon Specialization and Shield Penetration to make this build even more deadly.

Impulse

  • Kobali Hyper-Impulse Engines from the Delta Quadrant mission "Ashes to Ashes."

The Kobali Hyper-Impulse Engines provide bonuses to flight speed and turn rate, in addition to a +60% Hull Regeneration bonus when used with the shield from the Kobali Regerative Circuits set.

Core

  • Elite Fleet Plasma-Integrated Warp Core [AMP] from the Fleet Spire holding.

Shield

  • Kobali Regenerative Shield Array from the Delta Quadrant mission "Ashes to Ashes."

This build uses the Kobali Regenerative Shield Array for excellent defense. Using this engine with the Kobali shield enables the Kobali Regenerative Circuitry two-piece set bonus which provides additional 60% increase to hull regeneration.

Devices

  • Shields Battery
  • Weapons Battery
  • Engine Battery
  • Subspace Field Modulator from the "Skirmish" mission.

Engineering Consoles

  • Console - Universal - Adaptive Emergency Systems
  • Console - Universal - Dampening Wave Emitter
  • Console - Universal - Flagship Tactical Computer
  • Console - Engineering - Reinforced Armaments from New Frontiers mission "Beyond the Nexus"

Science Consoles

  • Console - Universal - Chevron Separation
  • Console - Universal - Work Bees
  • Console - Universal - Aquarius Escort

Tactical Consoles

The tactical console slots are filled with four Console - Tactical - Vulnerability Locator [+Pha] which can be purchased from the Fleet Spire holding. These consoles are the best tactical consoles you can get for boosting phaser damage.

  • Console - Tactical - Vulnerability Locator [+Pha] (x4)

Note: You can also use Console - Tactical - Energetic Protomatter Matrix Infuser [+Pha] from the Fleet Colony at a slight cost to DPS. These consoles provide a bonus to weapon damage, as well as healing hull and shields when activating special firing modes such as Beams: Fire at Will with energy weapons. Mixing the two types of consoles to maximize offense while providing a comfortable amount of defense is also an option.

Hangars

  • Elite Peregrine Fighters from the Fleet Starbase holding

Bridge Officers

The bridge officer seating of the Legendary Command Dreadnought Cruiser allows the use of a somewhat advanced type of build commonly known as Aux2Bat. This involves using two copies of the Engineering skill "Auxiliary Power to Emergency Battery" to reduce cooldowns and cause all bridge officer abilities to be usable more often.

Note that for this approach to be effective, you should slot three Technician Deck Officers into active space slots, of the best quality you can find. They should also have the ability "Bridge Officer power recharges reduced by x% after activating Auxiliary Power to the Emergency Battery." This will allow all of your Bridge Officer abilities to be used more frequently, which can dramatically increase DPS as well as provide increased defense through uptime on engineering and science abilities.
