*sigh* Both SWTOR and Mass Effect 3 getting bumped?!

I guess in the end this is a good thing for my wallet. It is looking like one helluva year for gamers... DA2, Portal 2, for us dorks, Lego Star Wars 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean, inFamous 2, Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City all this year, just to name a few I've been looking forward to.

not gonna brag, but I am gonna lol. since I get all the Massively tip emails, stupid closed beta testers always send in stuff "anonymously" so I get to see and hear about some cool stuff. You guys are going to be amazed. I am definitely now gonna check out the game

Amazed, perhaps but not surprised unless it sucks.B)

I'll be amazed if they scrap the starfox style space shootemup whose honour they fought so rabidly against the fans to protect.

How sad is it when that lightsaber battle was better than the movies, haha.

I was sooo looking forward to this game, but the more I see of the gameplay, the more "meh" I get about it...

I'll probably still buy it and try it out, cos hey, it's Star Wars, but I think it's a massive shame that they went with the typical reskinned-WoW playstyle... it just doesn't make any sense for Star Wars... leaving aside the class trinity, how many times do you need to poke someone with a lightsaber before you kill them in the films? How many rockets to the face? Could Han Solo really take 1.21 Gigawatts up his backside and carry on shooting his little blaster pistol as if nothing happened?

The cinematics look very cool, but the gameplay... I dunno... sorry, don't mean to be a killjoy!! :(

So pre-ordering gets you a colour stone to change your lightsaber. Not bad really.

I'm not a fan of getting loads of stuff for pre-ordering the normal or special editions. As proven by STO, you'll get it eventually anyway.

Here in Europe the CE is €150! $150 is cheap compared to that.

I had hoped to try out the the game in open beta before having to decide on buying it. If i get hooked on this game later on, i will regret not having pre-ordered all the fancy stuff.

I tried searching the CE on amazon.com, but it's not even visible to me, i only see the standard version. The local Belgian shops listed on the pre-order site, don't even have the pre-order CE (yet). I found it on a Dutch website. I can order it for €149.99 and they'll send the pre-order code by post (yes physically) on august 3rd!

If i want things like the special in-game store of which i have no idea if it will be something convenient (i know it's something non-game-changing), i have to decide on spending €150 ($216) on a game i hope i will like, but don't know for sure (don't even know when the game will be released).

Sorry for all the whining. I had to get this of my chest. No point in putting this on the sw:tor forum, there's enough whining there already.

I currently play LOTRO. Turbine squeezes its players for money from time to time. Seems like sw:tor will be the same thing: €150 for the pre-order fluff version. Ah you pre-ordered the game before knowing the subscription price, no you don't get a discount, you can pay €20 per month like everyone else. Next year: you can buy the expansion at €50 if you want to reach the new end-cap.

I'm probably very wrong. It will all turn out fine. They have been spending a fortune on this game, so they need the money. All other mmorpg's have trouble adding a decent of content. swtor is full of voice-acting so that explains why it's so expensive.

It's so expensive because there's an $60-80 statue included in the CE. It's got 2 in game items over the DD version, a music CD, some aluminium cases, some maps and an overpriced statue for $70 USD more than the DD and $90 USD more than the standard. The reason it's also €150 is because their accountants feel they can wee on the Europeans' legs and tell them it's rain.
