It sounds like you are talking about macros. If you use a game pad such as the Belkin n52te you can use that devices program to create macro keys that will trigger key press combos. Then you simply assign those macros to a key on the keypad and boom you can fire of a series weapon special attacks like Torp Spread and Fire at will or cannon rapid fire. it will take a coordinated set up between the gamepad software and the games quick key UI. I just use tray 7 for all my regen/buff powers and the n52te to fire keys 1-10 and then the games built in autofire weapons.

A New Adventure

Interlude: Intrigue in hindsight

--------------------
*When I was young,*
*My mother sang me a lullaby.*
*You always told me,*
*”Our kids will love it…*

--------------------

Log Entry: Captain Talons, Rider; Supplemental.

The indoctrination of the JPris Matriarchy into the Federation has finally been finished and the Pallas Helena has returned to federation space. We’ve returned our two Ambassadors and their party to Vulcan and can resume our ongoing missions. I’ve received our “official” orders from Admiral Quinn Which States that we are to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Victory and report in with Captain Four of Ten. Admiral D’Vak will likely want to speak with us.

We’ve already set out to the transwarp conduit near the Risa, which will take us straight to the Gamma Orionis Sector. Many members of the crew have joked about wanting to jump ship at Risa. It’s good to see their spirits high.

While we are underway, I have ordered my senior officers to perform various tasks in preparation. We still have some loose ends to tie up. That damn Databug is being dissected to its’ basic coding, and there is still the issue of that Orion “guest” of ours. I had hoped to drop him off at Earth Space Dock, however we were “asked” to keep him with us. Also “asked” to find his sister and her ship, the Lokapāla.

The higher ups seem to enjoy giving many missions at once nowadays. Can’t blame them though…

Talons out.

--------------------

Log Entry: Lieutenant Geroff, Marietta; Supplemental

*static can be heard, and visual is blurry at best.*

STILL!?!?!?

*The fuzzy figure of a woman can be seen reaching down and then lifting a large and heavy tool which has no purpose being in a crew members quarters. She suddenly begins striking away at the poor console which seems to whimper with mechanical notes.*

SON OF A TARG!! I had you fixed yesterday!

*The banging gets louder and louder and suddenly the sound of a metallic shell shattering can be heard.*

NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! Something actually happened today! I-…

*The recording instantly dies out and the message ‘Data Lost’ flashes red on the empty screen.*

--------------------

Log Entry: Lt. Commander Neves-Heliree, Narciso; Supplemental

I’ve had to decline the Empress’s generous offer to wed her son Alphorn. She then made a request of Starfleet and, because Starfleet is so diplomatic, accepted it. Her request was that her best people be sent to Starfleet Academy and that her son, Alphorn, a notable scientist, be assigned to the Pallas Helena to aid me in my research. She is a… Stubborn woman. Very insistent. She reminds me of Reaver’s mother actually…

Anyways, Alphorn is actually quite intelligent. He read over my research and asked some hard questions which made me think more. Most people just nod their head, faking their understanding. I think I will like working with him. JUST working. I’ve already made a mess of things. Reaver, Theo, that Orion Valla… It makes my head spin. And to make it worse I keep running into them constantly even on a ship this size! Deities have mercy…

I’ve decided to drown myself in work and not think about… personal issues. It’s not the time, we are being sent to join Battle Group Omega. The crew is extremely optimistic regarding our mission. A lot of them are gossiping about the Undine, not just the Borg. Fear is still present, but their joking helps keep them going.

Oh, long range sensors have picked up an anomaly forming right near the transwarp conduit. We’ve ruled out the possibility of the conduit being used, so I’ve asked the Captain if we could investigate it. These readings we’ve acquired have read as very interesting. When we’re close enough I’m going to perform a full particle analysis of the phenomenon. Such events rarely ever happen in the Risa Sector. The Captain has told me that it might be nothing at all. But if so, it’s piqued my curiosity. It’s vaguely familiar to me… I want to see if it’s a temporal anomaly. No, I need to see…

*Narciso can be seen fervently typing away at his datapad for a few extra minutes.*

Oh, Heliree out.

Bit late to this but welcome to STO as well. Do not worry about being new. Especially while you are leveling up, your choices are not set in stone and it is pretty hard to do anything seriously wrong.

Just a couple of small tips.
Dont worry about trying to make your leveling ships too shiny. Dont waste money/dilithium on items until you hit L45 and Mark XI items I would say.

You will level up so fast that anything lower becomes redundant pretty quickly so just relax and enjoy the story/gameplay while you level up.

I know that you have now aligned with Feds but dont forget you can create Alt sides to play the other factions as well. Cryptic ideally want us to have a Fed, Klingon and Romulan char as each side has subtly different stories that then tie together. But that is for the future.

You will also find that a lot of us have alts for the above purpose so if you are playing KDF or aligned and people only seem to be on the Fed side, by all means ask and someone or several will probably hop characters to come play as that side as well.

Very true, I have captains that reach lvl 50 with mk 4 greens in places. Unless you want a challenge and go up leveling on elite, stick with whatever you end up with .

Yep, it sure does. When I read that my choice would be permanent and that if I chose KDF, we would be enemies of the Federation, I reconsidered - and my roommate did as well.

So now we are both: Romulan - Federation (So that should allow is to get an invitation, though I don't know just yet how that gets accomplished.)

My Thoughts on Season 9

April 25 2014
I would like to say that I've discovered running the Undine space Battlezone is the BEST way to earn marks for rep! I ran it once, killed all three planet killers ( with fleetmates ) and then the voth :)
I ended up all said and done with about 130 marks, this is what I've been averaging running BZ.

My thoughts on the undine STF's, I don't like. May just be a personal preference, but I find the graphic card drain to be hellish and I have a TOTL GC and PC...plus, I didn't find them to be too profitable...

KITS: sofar I really like being able to take out one part of the kit I had that I didn't really like to add one that I really do like. Plus, don't be afraid to trade your hard earned fleet kit in, it's painless and you don't lose anything!

REP REWARDS: Some of the guns are cool, but I'm saddened that they all look the same. IE the sniper gun is the same as a wide area beam rifle. Perhaps they ran out of time and had to stick to one design.

LOBI ARMOR: Ya, I got this for my kitty KDF. I LOVE IT. It's so sssiiiiick! Never looked more badass. I paired it with the arm lance and booya, watch out Bajor impostors I'm coming for you!!!

Oh, and I really like the bajor mission. The end is quite fun with the chase and finding the secret cave. I think that it would be cooler if at the end you got a report detailing who was incorrectly accused or who was given a pass that was really A FAAAAAKkkkkkkkkeee. Olso would be cool to see who was responsible for the .... lets say, oversight???   on the team. NOT for the reason to point fingers, but just to see who needs to pay closer attention ( even if it's yourself!!! )

ESD: looks smashing inside and out. They did a lot of editing on the exterior as well, you'll notice the terran system to be a LOT darker which makes ESD glow a lot TRUER to how it looked in the movies and show...
I really like that everything is close by and easy to get to, really really slick job. I like it as much as I like new rom command!! ( I can haz new klingon homeworld map??? I wish).

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE SPACE GLOBS!!!

Faced with what is right, to leave it [strike]undone[/strike] undine shows a lack of courage.

OH, I see now! The alliances are really just a sideline story adventure, and has really nothing to do with our ability to join the Stonewall fleet and group up. (Very Cool.) As much as I admire the FEDS and I really do, I think for my sideline adventure I'm feeling a little bad-ass would be nice. Been there and done the whole "Hand shake" thing, now a little Rokeg blood pie with my morning coffee doused with the French Vanilla creamer, would be a cool eye-opener! LOL

Selecting your faction does have a bit of an affect on what you can do and who you can play with. In most locations, there is no cross faction teaming; meaning a KDF (Klingon Defense Force) character and a Fed (Starfleet) can't join the same time. If your playing partners decide to join the opposite faction, it'll be difficult for you to continue playing with them till you hit max level. Once you get to level 50, things do get a little easier cross faction-wise. Most raids or queued content can be joined by both factions at the same time, but you require a team of 5 to actually do the content at least.

You'll still be able to join our fleets, but if you say choose to align with KDF, you don't be able to join Stonewall Fleet, per se, but rather our KDF sister-fleet, House of Nagh reD (House of Stone Wall). Our main chat channel, StonewallFleet, is cross faction so you'll still be able to chat with everyone regardless of what faction you choose.

And, of course, KDF and Feds have very different storylines which you should check out! But for a good part of your leveling you'll be doing Rom content anyhow.

Hope that helps!

I finished all missions from the mission log and was left with this unpleasant thought "what now??" - now I know, I have the new mission :D So they came just in time!
However, I was completely unaware of the new season. Just three days ago I finally earned enough fleet credits to buy myself the Spire Science Kit Mk XII. So I am really upset they introduced something new. I put some effort in analyzing what best suits me and now there are the new ones I even don't know how to obtain, modules too :/

You can exchange your old Fleet Kit in for one of the new Kits at the Spire.

Hello! And welcome to STO and more importantly, Stonewall!

In my personal experience, STO has a lot to offer in a myriad of ways. I, like you, originally started with a Romulan character and when I reached the point of no return, I struggled. Interestingly enough, I choose my faction and it was quite fun. Stonewall is not limited to one faction/side - and you can often see the fleets cross-teaming in diverse missions.

It's even more fun when personal friends join along in the adventure! I often play with my little brother (when I'm strangling him) from time to time. Hopefully, you will enjoy the game a lot and stick around! Good luck and may the force be with you!
