Agreed, but in combination with the EMP to Shields, Omega and evasive you can speed tank as well until the cool down drops (reduced by the doff of course) to keep both of them up, practically constantly.

That being said I do like the direction you've taken with Engineer team.

When someone is cross class flying, what advice do you have, my fed main is an eng in a bug for instance.

How flexible should power allocation be in combat, does it have any real affect?

When deciding devices, should you heighten your strengths, or try to limit your weaknesses?

Question... I assume your applying speed tanking with the Emp to Engs? On a personal note, i'd rather have the emp to shields as well as emp to eng. It improves tank ability and allows for higher defense ratings.

I'm only curious :P I've been tinkering, which is why i'm asking.

so bao and I tried the trait out. It showed a max stack of 3, but it netted about 23% damage. the tooltip says

"This effect can stack up to 5 times.
*When receiving kinetic damage 5% to increase outgoing energy damage by 5% (stacks up to 5 times)"

Maybe the buff icon thingy is bugged and only shows 3 stacks, but it probably does stack 5

I have a few questions that can't wait until June 7:

-Has anyone used Fluidic Coccoon[sic] to effectiveness? I was thinking since tractor beams do kinetic damage and the borg cutting beam deals kinetic damage, and that it ca stack up to 25% with no cool down it could be useful. Think of all those cloaked tractor beam mines..

-Sensor analysis..how do you negate it? Apparently they changed it since i last played.

I just came back here to post what I found out.. When in sector space I get Diplomatic Investigations from Jiro Sugihara in the available missions tab. There are always three. I realised that the coolodwn for them is around half an hour or so! I bet you know it but maybe there is someone like me who didn't bother to look at the available missions till the next day to see if there are some more Investigation missions.
This is awesome because one mission is 100 diplomatic xp. That way you can get 300 in an hour if you do other stuff. I am able to gain like a 1000 in one day if I am able to play for a few hours :D I was at 74.000 two days ago, now it's almost 80.000. Yay :)

If this year is a fraction as fun as last year, I promise it to be a blast and a hoot*!

Figured I ought to contribute my self-proclaimed most versatile zerk mes build~!:

Basics: 6 / 4 / 4 / 0 / 0
Greatsword and sword/torch, pretty much everything zerk. If you don't have all zerk or want more of a health buffer, swapping some for soldiers/knights pieces is fine too.

I've been using this build plus or minus some minor changes for so many months now, I can't even remember. I don't like switching around traits and gear and stuff all the time, so I've developed an awesome all-around build that does a ton of damage backed up by some pretty darn good survivability that I use in wuv, pve, fractals, w/e.

Have you ever heard the adage "all good mesmer builds are weak to conditions"? Well not this one :p I used to use Prismatic Understanding with my torch offhand because it's amazing and with things like Decoy and Mass Invis it's just soo good. But that's only strong against physical damage; still weak to condi's. So I moved more points into the Domination trait line to get Cleansing Conflagrations which is one of my new favorite mes traits. It's soo damn good

I figured as much, the kdf have 4 completely different types and even each of the roms are very different from each other.
