New STO Expansion: Delta Rising

Hey there Fleetie Darlings!

I just got back from the STO Dev panel here at the Las Vegas Star Trek convention. They've announced a new expansion called "Delta Rising." The lvl cap is being increased from 50 to 60 with new Ranks of Fleet Admiral for the Fed and Romulan Factions and Dahar Master for the KDF.

There will be Tier 6 ships and and a new unique type of Bridge officer, as well as a new class of vessel. Allied races include the Talaxian's and the Ocampa. Enemy races include the Hierarchy, Malon, Kazon and more.

Tim Russ will be reprising his role as Admiral Tuvok and Harry Kim was on stage to announce he'll be voicing Harry Kim in-game. They mentioned other Voyager cast members will also be doing voicing in the game.

There will be an addition of a talent tree with "infinite progression" so I'm guessing it's sort of like The Secret World's skill wheel model where you continually accrue points you can spend. Lockbox and Lobi ships will have provisions to make them competitive against T6 ships as well.

That fed ship is monkey balls compared to my new warbird. :P

Out of curiosity, does someone have images of the faction ships shown? I tried digging through that forum thread, but only made it five pages before the rage set in.

I want to hear more details about the tier 6 ships and how current tier 5 ships will be upgraded what the difference will be. Also more tactical science ships I like :)

The Romulan and Klingon ships look good but I really don't like that Starfleet ship!

Here's hoping the Kazon are in the next lockbox. Would love to use one of their dreadnaughts.

If the Dyson series are any indication - their ship artist can work magic for Romulan and KDF designs.

Oh! Bizarreness: one of my addons in Chrome was blocking the images Sean posted. I had to open the page in IE11 to see them.

I like the warbird. It's very Mogai or Arkala, but clear Scimitar influences in the angularity.

The KDF battlecruiser looks very familiar. Maybe a Mogh and a Chontay were left alone too together.

The Fed ship...it looks like an Avenger saucer with a four-nacelle setup, but those nacelles what?

I was hoping for playable Cardassians though, but that'll come later than I hope.

Fortunately, they were only one of several races listed. From my notes:

Benthan
Hazari
Hierarchy (anyone else see a Sontaran?)
Malon
Kobali (I suspect their homeworld was one of the obliquely referenced new planetary surface destinations they presented)

In addition, of course, to the Kazon, Talaxians, and Ocampa.

It's also worth mentioning that they did also mention in passing the Delta Quadrant species we've already seen in game including the Voth, Undine/8472, Hirogen, and of course, the Borg. It's not unreasonable to imagine these guys may pop up in Delta Rising.

That Kazon ship (IMO) look's a bit like a Lego type ship.
