Okay so the first bit of crafting has hit tribble!
Here are the Tribble Patch Notes

Just a fair warning if you intend to log onto tribble, this patch is at 1.3 GB and it isnt even the final product. I fear the lag that will ensue when it goes to Holodeck.

I mean. They're not be-all, end-all, but damn. Anyone running a T'varo or B'rel now has a new thing to work on.

They have updated minor portions of the DoFF mission layout, leading me to think that a complete revamp of the DoFF system may be in the works. Maybe even bringing it to Gateway (now that the missions will be needed in the crafting sphere)

So they did an update and started to add some of the toys for crafting.

The Sci-boat captain's new best friend:

Note that there's a DHC with [arc] that expands it to 90 degrees. Also "can only equip one", but still.

To boost science powers, we have:

They're also revamping Aegis, in that the old set bonuses are now on the pieces, and there will be new (currently unlinked) set bonuses. I didn't include screenshots, because WIP shenanigans (the shields have a [DMG] mod). There's also currently no differences between the VR and UR versions shown above. System's still in progress, but I'm starting to consider drooling.

This seems like it will be s real dil grind, for doffs and rare components, am i seeing that right? What are the risk/rewards currently on tribble, are we talking complete revamp over months of my doffs to have any chance of mk xii purples? Will a crafter be able to do any non crfting missions on a reqular basis, once they try to start making ec with this system?

Disclaimer: my highest rank is Shields 10, because there's an "error" in the Aegis Shield recipe that currently makes it abusable. That said, between the Snake Pit (reddit) and the Oubliette (the official forums), there's a lot of information about.

Also keep in mind: there are still a lot of glitches and typos in the system. This is possibly the most alpha of any feature I've seen them put on Tribble, and I was around for both rep and starbases.

I suppose it might be advantageous to wait, then, before grinding the system.

If I had to prognosticate (purely conjectural, mind you), Cryptic'll err on the conservative side, and overcharge at first - potentially adjusting costs downward at later date, as they have with the rep systems.

Given they've got to make their money somewhere, and one of the major zen conversions seems to be dilithium? It probably will remain that way.
