No-Win Scenario

October 11 2013
Greetings Fleetmates!

I'm going to put together a guide and submit it into the next issue of the Stonewall Times. I've gathered a lot of information from the web (STO Wiki & YouTube, among other places) and hopefully this will help get everyone through one of the toughest things on STO. If anyone has any helpful hints, please don't hesitate to offer them! I want to make it as complete as possible.

For anyone interested, this Sunday, October 13th, I will be logged in for most of the day and will be running NWS as much as possible. Keep an eye out for me and let me know if you would like to take part. I encourage everyone to join me!

Side-Note: I have only PUG'd the NWS and (amazingly) have made it all the way to Wave 8, but not beyond. I really want to complete this crazy mission!

*UPDATE*
Sunday night, after running No-Win about 10 times (I lost count!) with various Fleetmates, we made it past level 8 and into level 9! I am fairly confident that with more practice runs we will finally be able to make it all the way through. Thanks go out to Aikune, Milmar, Metatron, Gerry Baboona, and everyone who participated with me (Sorry, I can't remember everyone's names off the top of my head!)

I will be hosting No-Win Scenario again on Sunday, October 20th - Sometime around 10am. Gear-Up, bring your Gravity Wells and Tractor Beam Repulsors and let's MAKE IT SO!

:cheer:

That is really really handy i know myself and metatron are interested in completing NWS.
It is a shame it sets the bar so damm high that you need people with maxxed reps and specific ship setups to make it even possible.

So we've figured the key to beating no win is a ship with at least a LCDR Science BOFF slot because of GW1 and TBR1. I've compiled a list of Ships off the top of my head with a LCDR Sci BOFF slot on the fed side. (I'll keep updating as time allows) Can some one compile a list for the KDF and ROM ships?

Tactical viable ships
Advanced Escort
Chimera Heavy Destroyer
Temporal destroyer
Elachi S'Goth Escort
Breen chel Greet Warship
Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer

So everyone needs to fly one of these, or just someone?

Yeah you need to be quick on your feet to, so science ships can go but generally the bigger ones will struggle

Rommie players, you guys lucked out almost every ship except for the Mogai is has the BOFF layout needed for No Win. Maneuverability... that's a separate issue

I kitted out my D'Deridex for this to give it a go between grav well, projected singularity and singularity jump should be a decent ship.

Tell me how that goes, if it works well i will have a ship that actually works for that accolade.

Guys: Run Tac's Preferably with Breenships, bug ships or something =- too.

Pick a targeted direction for all 4. Position NWSE and have a floater. The floater is responsible for picking up ze slack. Save one from each confrontation to regen the freighter hull, push it away with TBR.

Run Universal Consoles such as iso metric with tac's + multiple targets and insane damage... Save this till the bigger groups.

TBR + Scatter x2 v2&3, Torp spread x2. Run all DHCS on the front, possibly one torp (not plasma) and remove mines (Floater could do the mines). GW GW GW GW! Run Grav well u need to keep em away. Tbr is used to push the last one "safety" Run Jevonite Ablative past wave 6. Keep Emergency to shields + RSP and generally any resistance you can mount including Hazard.

Disable those damn turrets, instruct everyone from their directions to do this and the floater pushes away the final baddie. When the turret/s is down get the NSWE crew to heal the freight. When the freight is up too 100% proceed.

Also not to be cheeky, but u actually need decent builds here with the skills in the right places and a well coordinated team or it's just not gonna happen. You also must run the Romulan Crit boffs, too make it easier!

Sorry for picking up this old topic but I don't want to start a new one and I have some questions.
I started joining queues for the Now-Win Scenario few days ago, once we made it into wave seven I guess but I am just thinking if it is worth joining some random gamers or maybe it's better to assemble a strong team, where everyone is supposed to play a role and do certain stuff?
I also noticed some ships are spreading a blue beam to the transporter - my guess is they are healing the transporter. How do you do that? I can't find anything about it, or maybe it's not healing?..

The beam would probably be hazard emitters, one of the several skills other than teams that can be used on other ships, other skills include transfer shield strength or extend shields.

How do you achieve that?

You target the other ship and activate the skill. You can set a focus on the ship and always know its distance and condition. Its good in that mission and any other protect x situation.

Unless you have a 10K DPS Build, Gravity Well and Tractor Beam Repulsors are must have non-negotiable.
