It doesn't look like it's on rails (which is a very good thing). Hopefully they can do something similar with the other space missions.

Hard to say but starfighter combat is a fundamental and iconic part of the Star Wars experience. I'm hoping that this expansion will do for SWTOR what Jump To Light Speed did for SWG.

Only time will tell once they release it out for people to try and test it out.

I'm really exited. It looks fun. I do love the individual missions, but they're more arcade-style side games -- not really enough to hold the attention for long periods of time. This PvP will hopefully enhance endgame and provide a brand new challenge. Maybe it can even win over some of our STO brethren. ;)

It looks interesting but I certainly hope the entire expansion isn't going to just involve a new pvp environment. Not sure sales will be what they're looking for if that's the case. :blink: I would hope there's more to the expansion than just another pvp environment although this will be a vast improvement over the existing one. I just know a lot of people that don't pvp at all (me for one) and if they choose to focus on only the one aspect of the game (as they have unfortunately done in past patches) they will be pushing many more people away than they draw back. We'll just have to see what happens but I hope they don't decide to beat any dead horses. :pinch:

Well they did mention you will be able to use it to get gear for ground as well.

I looked this new expansion up on the SWTOR website and found out there isn't currently a charge for it, if you are a subscriber by Nov 1st, you will get the new expansion along with several unlocks and early access is scheduled for subs for Dec 3rd. Preferred status players get access Jan 14, 2014 and F2P accounts will be granted access on Feb 4, 2014 with only the basic flight suit available to them. Still not looking forward to having to participate in pvp to get access to the ground benefits but will just wait to see what they mean by "various gameplay modes" for some of the missions before I make a decision. :unsure:

We have a few subs, me for one. I received an email today about a "Character Name Renewal" for F2P and Preferred Status players. The text of the email is below:

Hello,
We wanted to let you know that in November we will be initiating a “Character Name Renewal” program for all of our Free-to-Play and Preferred Status players. As a Subscriber, this offers you the benefit of more character names available in the pool! We are currently in the process of identifying accounts that have been inactive for prolonged periods. If those accounts do not login to each of the potentially impacted characters within the required timeframe the attached Character names will be released back into the general pool.

This Character Name Renewal will have no effect on your character names. As a Subscriber you will keep your names throughout this process and benefit from the increased options released back into the pool post program.

So it appears they will be "returning" any "unused" names by clearing inactive accounts out before the release of the new expansion. Other than that, I haven't gotten any other emails. Not even one about the new expansion. It was quite a surprise when Halish posted that video as I hadn't logged onto the SWTOR website in quite a while.

I too and still a subscriber. My characters on the Rep side are Gaerr (though I may finally get to change that.) and Jaezan. My Imp side characters are Traeyus, Co'balt, Kass-ordo and Abysia if you'd like to add me.

I'm still a subscriber, I've actually been playing pretty regularly but I'm never on when others are apparently LOL

Also, I have been getting regular emails from them, including at least one a month notifying me that my cartel coins have been awarded.
