Fleetie Appreciation Award - "Most Outstanding"

Have you ever witnessed a helpful act in fleet chat or on our Ventrilo server by a fellow fleetie and thought that they should be rewarded for their kindness? Or maybe there is that one person who is constantly assisting members in fleet chat with builds and other advice, but barely even receives a "Thank you" for said help. This is your chance to put their name forward! Command is searching for exceptional individuals within our fleet to receive the “Most Outstanding” award!

We’ll begin the search by fleet-wide nominations where YOU will be asked to nominate a total of three (3) people. Two of those nominations will consist of an Admiral and a Fleet Captain. The other will be a fleet member of your choosing. If you need a reference, check out THIS page to see who currently holds a seat in fleet leadership.

Keep in mind that we are not looking to award people for their personalities, but for their contributions to the fleet, how helpful they are, etc. etc.

*All nominations must be sent in via e-mail to: stonewall@groupmail.com

-Title the subject line: “Nominations”
-In the body of the message, put YOUR @handle. (Only one nomination slip per fleetie will be accepted. All is kept confidential.)
-After entering your @handle, list your 3 nominations. Remember to nominate one Admiral, one Fleet Captain, and one fleetie.
-Please provide a brief explanation as to why you feel that person deserves to be recognized as “Most Outstanding” for each nomination.
-Once you’ve completed all of the above steps, send the e-mail. You will receive an e-mail once your nominations have been received by the event staff.

Nominations will continue over a span of two weeks, and will end on Sunday, September 15th. After all nominations have been counted, names will be put forward where fleeties may vote. Details regarding this phase, including awards ceremony/dance party, will be released at a later date.

Command will frown upon open “campaigning” and reminds members that this is not a popularity contest, but a chance to recognize those who deserve it. Let's keep it fair!

Congrats to all who’ve been nominated! But this isn’t the end! The voting tables are now open and all members are called upon to vote.

Here’s how it’ll work:

-Votes must be sent in via e-mail to: stonewall@groupmail.com
-Title the subject line “Votes.”
-List YOUR in-game @handle first! One voting slip per member please. (All votes will be kept confidential)
-Then list one vote for each category from the lists above. (e.g. 1 Admiral, 1 FC, 1 Member)
-Send in the e-mail! No explanation/reasoning’s are required this time.
-***Nominated individuals are allowed to vote for ranks of which they are not a member of (ie: if you are nominated for the fleetie appreciation award in the member rank, you may vote for a fleet captain and a Admiral of your choice but not for a member)***

Though we’ve had some promotions/retirements and what not, I have decided to keep those nominated at their previous rank. The rationale being that they’ve been nominated for their good deeds and contributions to Stonewall while at their old ranks.

A ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 21st with a celebratory dance party to follow, on our main fleet starbase!

Wonderful event, indeed! Gratz Dave, Aikune, and Milmar!! Thank you, Andrew for all the hard work you put into this and allowing me to play Star Trek tunes during the ceremony! It was a lot of fun! *big squeezes* And big thank you to everyone in this awesome community for the support and love you've given me and so many others in this fleet. I am so fortunate to be part of this amazing fleet. If there was ever to be a "Most Oustanding Fleet" Award. It would be Stonewall. :)
