What names do you give your ships?

Each of my toons has a distinct general theme for their ships.

Quinn (tac main): Determination and Compromise
Currently flying: Arbiter - JHAS
Other ships include: Armistice, Adamant, Resolute

Liet (sci alt): Continuum and Linearity
Currently flying: U.S.S. Origin - Wells Temporal Science Vessel
Other ships include: Continuity, Creation, Meridian

Atreides (engi alt): Emotions and Instability
Currenlty flying: U.S.S. Solace - Fleet Avenger Battle Cruiser
Other ships include: Avarice, Asylum, Fury

Feyd (Rommie tac alt): Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince/Token novel series
Currently flying: A.R.W. Azh'rei - Temporal Destroyer
Other ships include: Kir'rei, Diarmadh'rei, Faradh'rei

Well for my Klingon and Romulan characters I use the random name generators for those, but for my federation character well, it has to be the U.S.S Thunder Child.

With each successive generation I've tacked on a letter, still pretty new to the game so I only have the Thunder Child A (Constitution class).

Anyway it was named after the Akira class vessel that was engaged in the Battle of Sector 001, which in turn was named after the HMS Thunder Child, an ironclad vessel that engaged the tripods in H.G Well's War of the Worlds.

My (current) favourite ship USS Haldeman Andorian Charal Escort NCC-93677 got the name after Joe Haldeman who has wrote my favourite book "The Forever War".

My ship names are all variants on 'ghost'. So Spectre, Spirit, etc.

Cool! My Main Engineer uses Phantom, and my 2nd Engineer uses Spectre also.

And my Delta shuttle is called Sprite :lol:

I have a toon named Bandit after the Smokey and the Bandit movies. All of his ships are themed around that, e.g. Firebird, Camaro, the "Legend"

Trying to think of more Smokey and the Bandit names for his future ships.

I based my ship name off a series of Star Trek books I wrote when I was younger and eventually became the title of the Podcast I help set up, Priority One. All other ships had a letter after it until my latest ship, the Priority Avenger. I love that name!

I tend to keep my ship names consistent along the character, though I have fun with them sometimes.

My Risan Corvette's are all named USS Clothing Optional. A Tac officer of mine uses Excalibur for the main ship name and I think he's up to XIV for sequence now.

My shuttles are fun, such as the IKS Grumpy Kitten

I name all my ships after my dog Grayson so i have a GraysonVoyager, GraysonVesta etc. I love my dog. he is really cute!!!!!!

U.S.S. Audacious - Goes along the Defiant/Valiant line.

U.S.S. Liberty - The game picked this name way back at launch. My subsequent vessels whilst leveling shared the name.
Blockade Runner Escort Retrofit
U.S.S. Mallard - Fit with the steam motif.
Fleet Chimera Heavy Destroyer
U.S.S. Manchester - Named after where I live.
Fleet Science Vessel Retrofit
U.S.S. Manhattan - She's a Rhode Island variant so I stuck with the New England theme.
Support Cruiser Retrofit
U.S.S. Emissary - Means the same as Ambassador, the first of the line.
Fleet Advanced Research Vessel Retrofit
U.S.S. Mercy - She's outfit with a few heals and being a Nebula class there isn't really a theme to stick to.
Fleet Assault Cruiser Retrofit
U.S.S. Midway - Named after the naval battle.
Odyssey Science Cruiser
U.S.S. Odyssey - Kind of like the Excelsior, she was handed over to my captain after shakedown. As such she is first of her line.
Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Explorer
U.S.S. Orcus - Roman God of the underworld (Vesta was another Roman God).
Fleet Battle Cruiser
U.S.S. Pioneer - First of her kind for Starfleet.
Fleet Reconnaissance Science Vessel
U.S.S. Scarlett - Named after former chief of MI6 John Scarlett
