Fleet Bank Restructuring

May 25 2013
Hello Stonewallers!

As of today, May 24th, 2013, all of the fleet's banks have been restructured. This post will detail some of the significant changes that have been implemented with this new system.

Fleet Banks are repositories, where members of the fleet can donate consmuables and gear, for other members, who may be in need of some of the aforementioned items, during gameplay. In addition to donating or depositing items, members can also withdraw a set number of items per day, for the use of their character as they level. The items in fleet bank are meant to assist you in equipping your Captain and crew as you progress through the levels in Star Trek Online.

While the fleet banks have always existed, we've made some changes with respect to the way we organize the banks and the type and quantity of items that we stock. The purpose of the restructuring was to be a more intuitive method of sorting gear, while also being responsive the gear needs of the membership.

Significant changes:
  • Tabs organized by item type instead of item rank
  • Elimination of Lieutenant level gear from the bank
  • Elimination of kits from bank
  • Elimination of data samples from the bank

The general guidelines are as follows:

Space Gear Tab
  • Two columns for Lt. Cmndr/Cmndr/Captain (one column shields and deflectors / one column impulse engines and warp cores)
  • Three columns for RA Lower and RA Upper (1 column shield / one column deflector / one column impulse engines and warp cores)

Ground Gear Tab
  • Two columns for Lt. Cmndr/Cmndr/Captain (one column shield / one column armor)
  • Three columns for RA Lower and RA Upper (1.5 column shield / 1.5 column armor)

All Other Gear Tabs
  • Two columns for Lt. Cmndr/Cmndr/Captain
  • Three columns for RA Lower and RA Upper

Data Samples & Particle Traces:

Data samples and particles traces may still be donated to the fleet bank! Any such donations can be placed in the first three columns of the consumables tab, designated for miscellaneous donations. Those data samples and particle traces will be moved to our storage fleet shortly after they've been donated, to assist with crafting efforts that puts quality gear back into the fleet banks.

ETIQUETTE:

Please remember that the items in the fleet banks are meant to assist Captains in leveling their toons, and are NOT to be withdrawn for resale on the exchange or at a vendor in order to compensate fleet members for their contributions or perceived contributions to the fleet; this behavior is expressly forbidden.

While the fleet banks are largely donation driven, the Fleet Resources department also fully re-stocks one of our four banks per week, with purchased or crafted gear with the intent of providing some quality items to help our members level and progress through the game. The in-game currency needed to re-stock the banks is not withdrawn from the energy credit surplus in the fleet banks, but is self-generated by the department through a number of methods, including the forum signature store.

We work hard to generate the funds necessary to keep the banks regularly stocked where donations fall short, which is why we ask everyone to be mindful of the quantity of items they withdraw, and to be sure not to withdraw items with the intent of immediately reselling them for profit.

Additional information on the fleet banks can be found in the Welcome Center of the website, at the following links:

Should you have any questions about the restructuring or about the fleet banks in general, please don't hesitate to contact myself, any other member of the Resources department, or any other available Fleet Captains or Officers in our absence.

Looks nice! I'll have to check it out after the foundry gets back up and running so I can put things into it. My favorite farming mission is MIA atm so not getting many drops. :(

Thanks for the heads-up. Since there is no longer a data sample repository, is the fleet no longer collecting data samples at all? Or is there now a person in the fleet who is acting as a repository for them?

The Crafting Corp's bank is over stuffed with data samples. We really don't need anymore for the time being. Thanks though!

You should break toes. People don't realize just how painful breaking toes are and how much you actually use your toes during the average day. If you break fingers you adapt and just don't use that finger, that can be an inconvenience but still ok. But when you break toes every step that someone takes puts pressure on it and they feel the pain fresh and new, toes also help with your balance so not being able to rely on your full foot when you take a steps make them more likely to fall and injure other parts of their bodies.

Not that I have given this much thought...

Please see this important addendum to the original post relating to the restructuring of the fleet banks:

Data Samples & Particle Traces:

Data samples and particles traces may still be donated to the fleet bank! Any such donations can be placed in the first three columns of the consumables tab, designated for miscellaneous donations. Those data samples and particle traces will be moved to our storage fleet shortly after they've been donated, to assist with crafting efforts that puts quality gear back into the fleet banks.

BANK ETIQUETTE:

Please remember that the items in the fleet banks are meant to assist Captains in leveling their toons, and are NOT to be withdrawn for resale on the exchange or at a vendor in order to compensate fleet members for their contributions or perceived contributions to the fleet; this behavior is expressly forbidden.

Thanks, all!
