Romulan Fleet Uniform Contest

I'm sure it'll eventually happen, but I'd like to open a the forum to ideas of what guidelines and restrictions should be in place for our romulan toons to have fleet uniforms.

My own preference would be for there to be three different romulan fleet uniforms to choose from, the main one would only contain parts that can be worn by non aligned romulans or romulans of either allegiance. Then there would be one allowing fed aligned costume parts, and one for kdf aligned.

Essentially it would be a fleet uniform for romulans in the republic, and uniforms for romulans who rp as joining stonewall or nagh red.

I for one am already working on my ideas for submissions.

Interesting idea! I haven't been playing on Tribble much, so aside from the starter gear, I'm not sure what looks will be available. I'm excited for the launch!

You know, since Romulans don't have their own fleets, it's kind of an open question how that's going to work. I believe unaligned romulans won't be able to join fleets, so a "neutral" uniform won't be necessary. Then again, since items you unlock can't be included in a fleet uniform and romulans have to unlock faction-specific costume options by picking a side, there's a chance you can't include faction-specific romulan costume pieces in fleet uniforms at all. Of course, if the uniforms can include those options, the fact that they'll be in separate fleets would mean that different uniforms for KDF and Starfleet-aligned romulans would be an appealing and easy choice.

Regardless if it can be set officially in game as a "fleet" uniform, doesn't mean that we can't post template files with color codes and costume settings that we've voted on as the winners. I've played through tribble as both fed aligned and kdf aligned. If you don't pick an alliance, you can't do more than the first 6 missions over and over.

This works with costume unlocks on tribble as such. Minor Spoilers:

You start off as a civilian and have only civilian clothes. After the tutorial you join the romulan republic, and get the republic uniform options. Later on when you choose an allegiance you get a new set of costume options depending on what faction you ally with. Please note, you're still a romulan republic officer, you just get a federationy or a klingony version of your romulan uniform you can choose to wear if you want. You can also keep your generic republic uniform (which I choose to do anyways, as I don't really like either versions of the allied uniforms)

Another minor spoiler, you also get a Tal Shiar uniform at one point, which can be color customized. I'm all about color coordination, so I'd love us to vote on an establish official fleet colors for these uniforms.

I'm sure there will be other options that we haven't seen yet as well, and any of them which we can get through free gameplay I think we should be able to vote on an official fleet variant for those who have progressed far enough to unlock. It would make RP a lot more fun.

Like I mentioned in the last post, that is only an issue for setting it as an in game official fleet uniform, which isn't what I'm suggesting.

Also, it doesn't matter if you're not not unaligned, you still get to wear your standard Republic uniform.

Basically i am suggesting that we agree on a fleet color scheme for the new jackets

what about for Remans? Since they have an option pool all our own with a style.

Just make a Federation-Romulan fleet costume and a KDF-Romulan fleet costume. There is one of each fleet, you can only join once you choose a side at level 10. Once you've done so, your alliance costumes unlock.

The only thing that should be restricted would be any gear not immediately unlocked after reaching lv 10 and choosing a side. I, however, would see no issue in posting a picture of my Romulan's costume with the 22nd century helmet since it is pretty much an optional piece for my crew (since the non-Romulans can't wear it). If there were a costume contest, I would consider it a "Neck Down" contest, and the helmet would simply be there to add flavour, just like scars and tattoos. :3
