[KDF FLEET EVENT] Feast of Blood and Blade!

Event overview:
"The Feast of Blood and Blade" is a full-day of Klingon Defence Force events, hosted by the Klingon Affairs department, with assistance from the PvE Combat Operations and Fleet Resources departments, and with creative assistance from MacIntosh.

Events will include a Bat'leth tournament, Klingon Trek Trivia contest, Klingon Fleet Actions and much more! See the second post in this thread for a schedule of events!

Who can Participate in this Event?
This event is open to ALL members of the Stonewall Star Trek Online community! A Klingon defence force character will be needed for some of the events, such as Klingon Fleet Actions and Defera Invasion Zone runs. It's highly recommended that participants create a character of Klingon Allegiance for the best event experience!

When will this event run?
This event will run on Saturday, May 18th, 2013. See the event schedule below for individual event times.

Will there be prizes for participation?

LIMITED EDITION Klingon Print Prize Details




One of the top tier event prizes is a Limited Edition Klingon Print, donated to the prize pool by Voleron. It is a full-color 30" x 22" poster by acclaimed Sci-Fi artist James Cukr titled "Klingon War Party" and was a special edition print for Star Trek Communicator magazine subscribers only, limited to only 500 pieces released world-wide. This is number 195, and is hand-signed by the aritist in gold sharpie. There is a small amount of creasing along the very top left edge which will NOT show when framed. Otherwise the print is in perfect condition.

The winner of this item will need to provide a physical mailing location to which the prize can be mailed. The item is gifted 'as is', and we cannot be held responsible for any potential shipping damage.

Here is the list of events for the KDF Feast of Bllod and Blade scheduled for Saturday May 18th all times are listed in Pacific Standard Time:

10:00AM to 11:00AM - STF Runs

11:00AM to 1:00PM - Defera Runs (meet on Defera staging area zone.)

1:00PM to 2:00PM - Fleet Mark Runs

2:00PM to 3:30PM - Bat'leth Tournament

3:30PM to 4:00PM - Victory Party on KDF Starbase

4:00PM to 6:00PM - KDF Trek Trivia Event (On KDF Starbase)

The Fleet Resources Department is known for hosting Trek Trivia events, which are held via in-game chat. Fifty Star Trek related trivia questions are posed, with points being awarded to those participants who answer correctly in the shortest amount of time.

Thanks for posting that link Voleron! This brings me to the rules of the upcoming tournament. In the interests of fairness we are requiring all participants to utilize the same equipment. I know some of you were itching to try out your Tritanium Rending Bat'leth or your lightsaber on or your Shard of the Sword of Khaless but not everyone has these items and this competition is to test your prowess in melee combat rather than who's got the best gear with the highest possible DPS. As the Klingons are both warriors and bards I've decided to put the spirit of these rules into verse:

Be thou restrained
Thy armor and weapons quality constrained
Till tournament be done and this be known
This contest be won by skill alone.

Rules-
All players shall have a mk IX Bat'leth and mk IX Polyalloy weave Armor, both which can be purchased at:

KDF academy: from Lt B'eora: Bat 1722ec, PA 3960ec
First City: from Lt B'eora: Bat 1722ec, PA 3960ec
Ganalda Station: from Bekk Tok: Bat 1722ec, PA 3960ec
Deep Space 9: from Armorer Zentan: PA 3960ec

-Open hand combat is allowed.

-NO kits, shields, hypos, tribbles or other weapons can be loaded or utilized.
If it becomes apparent one has been used, warrior will be disqualified and dishonored.

Excellent question. If the power is melee-based/physical damage like Ferasan Pounce I'd personally be willing to allow it but must confer with the leadership a bit before it's official. Liberated Borg Neural Blast, Orion Female Pheromones, ect.. would be off limits. The same would go for innate abilities like Nanite Health Monitor and Tactical Team. Each match would be a fight to the death and a referee would then rez you once the match is over. There will be medical generators at opposite corners of the challenge floor where participants may go to be healed once their respective matches are over and before beginning new ones.

Just in case someone isn't prepared, and because they're cheap, I bought a dozen each of the approved sword and armor, and will share with whoever doesn't have it.

I'd like to extend a huge congratulations and thank-you to everyone who came together to make this event possible, especially, Iccarus and Jacien: the fine Fleet Captains of the Klingon Affairs department! The KDF roster has never seen so many members online simultaneously in recent history, and a fantastic time was had by all!
