Guild Trek is almost upon us. Time to prepare!

We are today three days away from having Guild Treks unlocked!

In preparation, I sifted through the dulfy list for any spots that look challenging.

Some locations are inside of or at the end of jumping puzzles and one is right next to a champion ooze.

Here is my first draft of a list of Trek spots worth scouting and a link to the master list:

http://dulfy.net/2013/03/03/gw2-guild-trek-guild-mission-guide/

Bloodtide Coast:
  • [strike]Blood Ooze Gallery[/strike] (easy to get to)
  • Covington's Stowage (easy but tucked away)
  • Portmatt's Promontory (buggy activating JP)
Diessa Plateau:
  • Anya's Patch (easy JP)
  • Blackblade Butte (easy to get to)
Harathi Hinterlands:
  • Fawcett's Porch (end of JP. manageable)
Kessex Hills:
  • [strike]Defiled Delve[/strike] (very easy)
Fields of Ruin:
  • Brandstrike Digs (easy to get to. no jumping)
Malchor's Leap:
  • Delight's Balcony
  • Spectrehaunt Socket
Plains of Ashford:
  • Cademkrall Overlook (easy to get to)
I realize wanting 11 scouting spots is overkill. I'd like to narrow this list down to 6-8 of the toughest spots, but that will take some field research first.

Please feel free to scout some/all of the spots on your own. I would like to organize a group of *at least* 4-6 confident jumpers who know some/all of these spots as a sort of "Trek strike team". As far as I'm concerned though, the more willing scouts the better. :)

Thanks for reading this far! See you all in game. :)

I'll be updating this as I gather info on the spots.

Eventually I'll sift through all 150 (gotta catch 'em all) so if anyone else has experience or wants to take a chunk of these please let me know. :)

Jumping is definitely my thing. We'll have to talk about a weekly day/time to do guild treks. Hopefully after 6pm >.> In the mean time, I will go check out all the places you listed and start to become familiar with them as well as those not listed.

hehe yeah, they'll probably just get rolled into the current guild bounty times (which I think are going to both be after 6pm).

The missions are 20 minutes and we have to find 5, 10, or 20 spots depending on the Tier. 5 and 10 will be a breeze, but 20 is where the challenge is. :) If you have any ideas about how to organize/orchestrate the 20 spot find I'm happy to hear 'em.

As long as we get at least 20 players involved, which shouldn't be an issue in the near future, we should be able to breeze through these. I would think we could probably assign members that are taking place a number (1-20) and then when we pop the mission, the guild member goes after the location that corresponds to their number in the position of the listed locations. If there are 20+ members, 20 minutes should be enough time to finish 1 trek location each. *fingers crossed*

blah, I typed out this detailed plan and then it didn't send. /cry

So, I was thinking to do trek tier 3 with two full teams.

Double up number assignments (person A gets 1&2, person B gets 3&4, etc.)

Send all ten people to the hardest spots (which are actually mostly very easy)

Activate the trek and anyone who is at one of the activated spots claims it.

Then people check the list for their number assignments and head out.

pros:
- 10 of the 150 potential spots are already claimed before trek starts
- in the event we do claim a spot, we have extra bodies to help if someone DCs or has trouble with their assigned spots

cons:
- potential to start across the world from your assigned spots and incur some costly travel
- potential to have two or three people porting to the same zone (which is of little concern to me)

This is the best plan I could come up with without having ever done a trek. :P

There are 30 potential zones (every PvE zone except Lion's Arch and Southsun Cove) with 5 possible scouting spots in each (thank you anet for so evenly distributing the spots).

Thoughts? Think this plan is worth testing out?

p.s. I like wiki.guildwars2's trek list more than dulfy's (it's sortable. I love sorting) :)
