Star Trek Online: Legacy of Romulus

A new Romulan Faction is coming to Star Trek Online! The big update will come in May 2013 and also includes a revamped trait system and an entirely new UI.

This new large update will not be known as a "season", but is rather called an expansion, titled "Legacy of Romulus".

Micro site: http://www.legacyofromulus.com

Story:
Romulus and Remus are gone. You are one of the survivors, struggling to survive in the aftermath of unspeakable destruction.

These are dark and dangerous times for your people, as the Tal Shiar crack down on any dissent and mysterious beings unleash terror throughout the far-flung colony worlds.

You will be the one to reshape an empire. Gather allies, go undercover and find the proof that will rally your people to revolt.

Together, you will rise up against an oppressive regime and demand freedom. You will fight for your people.

You are the Legacy of Romulus.

Romulan Faction
  • Romulan faction focusing on "Romulan Republic"
  • Playable races: Romulans (m/f) and Remans
  • Tal Shiar and new Beta Quadrant Race as major enemies
  • Storylines focusing on Sela (feat. Denise Crosby)
  • Ships include old and new Romulan vessels (including Warbirds)

Other updates
  • ALL factions playable from level 1 to 50 (including KDF)
  • new, color-customizable UI (see screenshots)
  • Tholian reputation (new weapons, ships, powers)
  • Overhaul of traits (new traits, updates, customization)
  • New C-Store stuff (the expansion itself will be free, though)

The following tags have no closing tag: video, center
The following tags can not be placed within a specific tag: b in video, b in video, b in video, b in video
And now there's even a German trailer. Woot!

The title cards say:

Erhebe dich aus der Asche:
"Raise from the ashes."

Marschiere unter den Schwingen des Raubvogels:
"March beneath the Ratpor's wings."

Dein Kampf. Deine Zeit. Dein Vermächtnis:
"Your fight. Your time. Your legacy."

Mai 2013: Marschiere unter den Schwingen des Raubvogels.
"May 2013: March beneath the Raptor's wings"

Seems like most of the info is already out, really. Updated the first post accordingly.

Just saw the site! All I've got to say is: holy shit. This goes WAY beyond what I was getting announced. A full expansion, with BOTH the Romulans and KDF having levels 1-50 available? I may have to quiz Brandon about this at PAX...

I agree, this goes far beyond the things I deemed possible. I updated the first post with all the info on the new update. Apparently they're also giving away free goodies at the microsite (http://www.legacyofromulus.com).

Only downside: It doesn't really look like FED/KDF characters will get a new FE. But maybe they'll surprise us again. Really, really excited now.

And I still think it's kinda funny how a lot of German sites got all that information about 2-3 hours in advance. Who messed up there? LOL.

I was trying to not get excited about the speculation that went on for months. But knowing that it's a full on faction, my other toons are going to be very neglected for a while.

Well damn, I'm actually shocked - a completely fleshed out Klingon and Romulan faction - that's gotta be enough to make just about everybody pretty happy, for once ;)

Very well done on their part - this'll be a huge game booster, for sure!

I'm sure people will find something to cry about lol. Wasn't the klingon designed as mostly PVP in the before time?

Someone will always find something to cry about. I have to say though, I'm pleasantly surprised. I was very trepidacious when PWE took over. However, it really seems like they've been trying to add interesting content.

And now with a what is apparently a full Romulan/Reman faction. I'm definitely impressed and look forward to it. :)
