[Poll] Should we change the Fleet Uniform?

Our Fleet Uniform has been the same since the games launched. Some feel that this is a piece of our history and should not be changed. Others feel likes its time for something new and fresh. What do you think?

If the majority of our membership votes to change the Fleet Uniform, we'll begin a fleet-wide contest to decide a winner.

It should be noted that many of the newer uniforms will not be able to be used in the Fleet Uniform due to limitations within the game. Please keep that in mine when voting.

I vote a strong no. Our uniform is sleek, true to the look of trek, a part of our history, and stands apart from generic uniforms.

Really? This I did not know. There's a fair amount of creativity in the "stock" clothing sets, but this opens things up quite a bit. B)

I that's its time for an update, while I like the look generally, I think as a GLBTQA fleet we can be a bit more fabulous...

I think we should change it. Frankly, I don't think it's sleek or unique at all. I actually find it drab. Mind you, I'm no fashionista...

If it isn't changed, a second RP uniform would be nice for those if us that are involved in that group.

Perhaps this is an excuse for a contest?

(I also think there is a typo in Six's post, that unlocked uniforms can NOT be used, but not sure. I'm curious about the Odyssey set though...)

Not to sound too misanthropic with regards to this subject, but I think there is already a little too much craziness/fabulousness in uniforms thoughout the game already... I mean are we Starfleet or some sort of Merchant Marines hodgepodge?

The game doesn't allow Fleet Uniforms to include anything with a "locked part". Basically anything from the C-Store or that's obtain from some mechanic in-game.

If we can make a new one that is nice then go for it i would like a new look for our fleet uniform.

It was very much a typo. By definition the fleet uniform should be available for all fleet members, which means that it cannot contain any locked parts.

In other words, if you can't make the outfit with the costume creator on a new f2p account, it's not valid.

i put in my vote.

As one of the fleet old farts, I voted no. But that's mostly because we can't use the TOS-era outfits to mandate miniskirts.

I'm not against a uniform update, but given the limitations in the game I think the one we have is pretty good. It's simple and the white jacket gives it a formal look. Also, a uniform is supposed to be, well, uniform... I'm not going to wear something that's lime green and purple.

Those of you who are voting "Yes, we should.", you should really consider that you might dislike the contest winner more than the current uniform. :P

If there's one thing I learned from our swing at doing this for The House, it's to never, ever underestimate the creativity of our fleeties. The klingon costume options are ridiculously limited, and I kind of expected a dismal failure, and yet we somehow came up with a bunch of options far cooler than I ever thought possible.

I'm really kinda excited to imagine what you guys would do with the options available to the feds!

And have we discussed what sorts of exciting prizes might be available to our potential winner(s)? Zen? Ships? A night with Traull?
