Alrite im ready anytime someone else can help me. Im not sure how long the heroics take but i will be on this evening, and scattered parts on the weekend or we can schedule further down the line.

scheduling a time might be a good idea... I know I still have to get HK-51. Not sure how worthwhile HK-51 will be for any of my toons but still I don't have it so...

He is worth it as it makes it easier to level early on, but one problem they have had is that his mods do not scale. This is a bug, so you are going to have to buy/make mods for the appropriate level toon until its fixed.

Thanks for clarifying that about HK's gear, Odioshi. I was wondering what the problem was with that but I've just used him as is. I didn't want to have to go to the expense of re-gearing him but perhaps that's why he seemed to die on every pull for my lowest level toon. I just went back to using my healer companion but I'll check out what it will cost to re-gear him. It was my understanding he was supposed to adapt but I guess from what you're saying is the bug prevents that. The usual don't make sure it works before releasing it syndrome.... :angry: Oh well, thanks again for posting the reason, at least now we know. :dry:

Well i intended to get a bit more done on my legacy before i went for this, but with the expansion coming, i want to get mine. Anyone want to help me sometime this weekend or next week?

I'd be up for it but of late everytime I'm in tor I feel excluded regardless how many people are on... I'm not comfortable with vent, I'm sure several others are and it feels like in game chat is so often ignored and chat between members is exclusivly vent... Not really good for inspiring those like myself who aren't vent users to be to helpful.

I know how you feel ksb, the chat window is so small, never thought of trying to expand it , so it flies. Not enough channels, so you cant clear out the selling and stuff. I sometimes dont know what i got when i open a slicing box, and during/after combat, forget about seeing anything. SWTOR's chat system makes me appreciate STO's so much. i try to say hi when i see people come in, but usualy i dont even see that until well after the fact. I have lost the habit of watching the chat in this game. STO spoiled me with custom user made channels, easy removal of channels, custom choice colors for channels and such.

As for vent currently i get no input, so i have not been using it.

To add to all that, this game is nothing but combad and every hit is shown in chat, if you say hi and i dont respond trust me its because i never saw it. I love this game, but ITS CHAT SYSTEM SUCKS.


Ok rant over, i will try to shout out sometime this evening after 5:30 eastern time.

Sorry I guess I was a tad moody when I wrote that... I don't take back the feeling ignored bit but I can with a rational mind accept some of the reasons what I say might be missed and perhaps a private message or two could be in order next time lol. Once again sorry for my rant/whining.

You dont need to be, i have felt the same way, many times in this game.

I am new to the Knights of Stonewall, just joined this week.

If you right click the chat tab, then click chat settings you can customize the chat and create new chat tabs to filter out the other stuff like general chat, combat, etc.

I have a chat tab, that is dedicated only to guild, group, and whispers. This helps with the chat scrolling by too fast and missing things. You can also customize the colors.

You can also drag a chat tab out of the main chat window and place and resize it anywhere on the UI. My guild tab is right above the main chat window.

That being said, the sense of feeling ignored is valid. I have tried to say hi several times when both I have signed in and others have signed in, and more often than not there is absolute silence in return. I don't think folks are purposely ignoring people per say, they just may be busy and not notice something has been said in chat. There have been times where a conversation seems to happen, and I missed it because I got engrossed in a mission or the game. Also, there have only been 3-4 folks on at a time while I've been playing.

I can certainly understand ksb's comments though.

I am sorry to hear that you have felt ignored. It's definitely not a fun feeling and is something that I can relate to as well! However, as Phishindude stated, it is possible that those in-game were probably busy with their missions and missed the text in chat, or might have even been AFK at the time (yes, it does happen) when you were trying to get their attention. I wouldn't take it personally as I'm sure it's not meant to be anything against you :)

When I am in-game I always make it a point to greet new fleeties when they say "Hello" or something like it in fleet chat! Hopefully this post will encourage others to do so as well :)

I always say Hi when I'm on but don't forget that when you're doing space missions you're not looking at the chat log so when people don't respond I just tell myself they're in a space mission ;)

I can fully understand how everyone feels about vent as I am not big on it's use either but when you are running any heroic in your quest for HK-51, you'll find things move too quickly to just use regular chat. I find it impossible to fight and type at the same time or do anything and type at the same time for that matter. Even if you are just listening and not talking in vent, it's so much easier to successfully do things when you are all using vent. This is when using a private chat room rather than a public one is recommended and encouraged. They are there for groups to talk amongst themselves and coordinate their group missions without being disrupted by all the public chatter. Just a suggestion, of course. Only do what you're comfortable with but do give it a try. :)

Listening is what i cant do with vent right now, for some reason. Everything else comes through fine, just not vent for some reason.

By the way those tips for chat were awesome.
