Re: Reddit rolling on CD
Lol.. And if you read through the posts someone suggests fergusons crossing as the backup server :silly:
yeah thats was I was thinking too and some members wont see the new so they roll on CD anyways. I know I would be annoyed if i didnt see the "we decided to change our home server..." new and rolled on CD then have to pay gems to switch.so is CD still going to be the guild server and GLBT server because of this?
It's about 24 hours to launch, and it's never good to change horses in mid-stream. We'll just have to monitor the server caps, like Kerstov said.
There was a 1hour stress test today, everything was already wiped. Gems you had (if you had any),gold, characters and you had to select a home server again today.During the last stress test I checked and could see at least a half-dozen + players are already on CD...many of us not and I was one of them.
I take it that everything is going to be wiped down to ground zero, including previous server selections and it will be a race for all of us to get on CD? (I'm assuming this is the case.)
I'm not quite up to speed where Reddit is concerned...again I'm assuming it's their size that becomes and issue for us... and it's not political issues with them?
Just a quick thought...how about making a fast poll for emergency votes to see how many have head-start access and how many will have to wait until the actual release date to select a server...with a third choice on the poll for "later than that."
If this could be done quickly enough some valuable numbers float to the surface which would give a more accurate assessment of how to proceed with main and backup servers and who might end up going where. Luck is going to play an important roll in this no doubt but a poll like that can make it easier to see who may get left out of CD and how best to cover them.
:)
problem is not only that but that they will fill up the server to full. :Soh come on guys, really? are we going to let a bunch of ignorant people troll us? i doubt they'll have any sort of real presence there at all.
maybe this was the server they choosed back in beta? *shrugs*Question: Isn't that look you posted only referring to one Reddit based guild rolling on Crystal Desert, not the entire Reddit community?
According to the primary GW2 page on Reddit (Here), it looks like the primary NA Reddit server is Isles of Janthir. Additionally, out of the 7 Reddit based guilds in NA, only two have picked Crystal Desert as their home server.
It's very possible that I may be overlooking something, but to me it seems like there are only 2 Reddit guilds rolling on CD, not the entire Reddit community. The overall Reddit community is apparently being directed to Isles of Janthir, with Gate of Madness as the backup. Overall, I don't see a significant cause for concern in two Reddit guilds being based on our server.
3: we're going to face an equal amount of ignorance, misogyny, and blatant trolling wherever we decide to stay, it's a given. You don't back down from things like that, you don't run. you stand your ground and you educate. you take it on yourself to try to open someone's eyes, and you recognize the lost causes and let sleeping dogs lie.
