Gaming mouse

I'm thinking about purchasing a gaming mouse for use in GW2. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with any particular device? Would a gaming mouse be a worthwhile investment for GW2?

Thanks!

I purchased my first gaming mouse before the last stress test. It is a logitech G300 and i love it. It has 9 buttons, and works for both right and left handers. The reason it works so well for me, however, is because of my claw grip. It fits my hand perfectly. But all-in-all, yes, i think having those extra buttons is a large advantage ;)

*edit*
I set it to glow a light purple so i feel more mesmer-y :D

ive used the 2nd gen WoW cataclysm gaming mouse, which is pretty great for what it does, but right now i'm using the 1st gen razer naga 17 button mouse, works pretty good, but the buttons are a bit closer together. however, i know they have one out now called the razer naga hex, which spreads the buttons out a bit more. but always remember, you're not limited to just the number of buttons on the mouse, you can always do ctrl alt, and shift modifiers, which immediately quadruples the amount of buttons on the mouse, not to mention combinations of those modifiers.

Thank you for the feedback; I decided to try out the Logictech G600 which seems similar to what you mentioned. I think I'll love it!

The G600 is a great mouse - and with the GShift button it has crazy customization. I bought one and loved the size and heft - but I use my thumb to grip the mouse - and kept pressing buttons when I didn't want to :/

So for now I'm using a Razer Deathadder - only 5 buttons but it should work for me.

I've been gaming with wireless mouse and keyboard for many years and just 'upgraded' back to wired. No more mouse batteries dying in the middle of a big fight!

I just bought the Logitech G700 -- also my first gaming mouse -- so I'll probably be accidentally shooting at innocent animals constantly. At any rate, I'll be able to sympathize, eye.

I purchased the G600 last week, and am having similar issues... I've pressed the thumb buttons accidentally while running around, and found I was hitting the modifier button(G-Shift, I think?) a lot instead of the right mouse button(though I'm doing this a lot less often now). Prior to getting this, I'd been using the same mouse(the Logitech G5) for at least 4 years, so I'm hoping I'll just adapt to this one after using it for a while.

I've been toying with picking up a gaming mouse as well, but I'm just not sure which one to get. The Naga and G600 seem like they might be overkill for GW2 since GW2 only has like 10 hotkeys to begin with. Since this is such a movement based pvp game, I feel like I need to figure something out. I also play on a MacBook Pro, and I feel like playing on a laptop keyboard leaves more to be desired. I'm kind of leaning towards at G700.

Also, has anyone used one of those gaming keypads for your left hand at all?

The G600 has 12 thumb buttons(plus the modifier) which may initially seem like overkill for GW2's 10 skills, but remember... GW2 uses F1-F4 for profession-specific abilities, a key for weapon switching, a dodge key(optional), etc..

Re: game boards --

I bought the Logitech G13, and could not get used to it. It was too big for my hand, I didn't like the angle it put my wrist/hand at(your wrist is higher than your finger tips), and the thumbstick was too small/pointy to be of use(my thumb would just keep sliding off of it). The Razer ones looks to be more compact/flat, but I've heard mixed reviews of it as well.

I would definitely recommend trying one in a store before buying one.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go with the G700. I liked that the buttons were spread out a bit, and I like that it's wireless. Since I game on a laptop, it'll be easy to transport if I'm staying at my bfs and want to nerd out there.

Sorry for hijackin the post, haha.

lol Noveire, let's go practice our G600s on bunnies together before we eat pavement in PvP. Although, I can't promise no wipes even with bunnies.....
