I've been trying to figure out what order I should claim my names... I want a name for one of my alts that I know will go quickly... the name for my Main may go rather quickly but probably not as fast as the alts..
so do I worry about getting my Mains first, since this is the char I'll spend most my time on..
or try to grab the popular name I want for my alt first..

If it were I, (without regard to main or alts) I would go for the names you think people will actually try and get or accidentally get ahead of you, after that the more unique the name the safer that name will be or should be...giving you hopefully a little more time with those.

hmm... So whats happen if I create my 5toons and delete em in this stress test, name will be reserved til tomorrow headstart?Here is official confirmation on how to claim your favourite character names during the first few hours of headstart.
There's a 24 hour "name lock" period after you delete a named character.
So if you want to quickly reserve all your names, start character creation, enter the name, and jump to the end (without customizing appearance etc.). Then delete. You should have 24 hours to recreate the characters at your leisure.
Hmm, I'll give it a try. ;P

24 hours from 4:20 PM is 4:20 PM the next day - which would mean your 24 hour period would expire by launch 5 hours later.. clear as mud!

Meh, unless they do a really early start tomorrow i have a chance. Im not going to count on it, players would be pissed especially those who didnt know and missed their chance to select a server/grab names.
