CD sounds great.
On a side note, I don't see us listed on GW2guilds yet. But, haven't seen many other guilds such as Boon Squad on there either.
Wish Agenda would hop on to CD with us as well.

On another side note, I can see the CD jokes coming already. "all gays are CD's" and the like. Be prepared. -_____-

I prefer a less 'hardcore' server. I'm worried about the server being full very quicly and i'm worried about not being good enough to play WvWvW because we will be competing against the best servers. If we pick a 'smaller' server, then i'd be worried about the server being dead after a few months. Most important to me though, is sticking together with the other gay guilds.

The leader of Gayme 0n has announced that Gayme 0n and Rough Trade have already decided on Crystal Desert. There is also a poll on gaygamer.net in which the majority votes for Crystal Desert, although only 21 people voted yet. So i think we should follow them to Crystal Desert.

Gayme 0n and Rough Trade are planning a secondary back up server. We should probably look into this too. Just in case the server is completely full before all stonewallers have joined.

Ok I've gone ahead and confirmed Crystal Desert since it seems we're all in agreement here.

I will be posting up a thread when I get home from work tonight for us to discuss the "back up" server option.

One thing to think about is to publicly declare CD the unofficial LGBT server as soon as possible as widely as possible (on Guru, GW2Guilds etc.). This way we could stake our claim to it, and possibly prevent other big alliances or interests stamping their identity on it.

EDIT: I have a Guru account, so I'm happy to post it there, and shepherd the thread through inevitable cascade of ignorance. :P

Thrumdi, I meant to ask you some posts back about this (or for anyone who wants to answer.) I'm so in left field when it comes to these politics. I've never seen or experienced what is happening now....especially the "why." I only ask so I know and I don't feel ignorant about such things.

1. Why unofficial as opposed to official?
1a. What does choosing (either or) mean for us in political terms?

2. Additionally, (if I read this correctly we are going to try and put "our stamp" on the server before some other guild gets there first) what are the political advantages or disadvantages for this as well?
2a. Are we politically trying to be in the lead or at the top of something?

Thanks much :)

1. Why unofficial as opposed to official?

Official would be if Arenanet assigned a server to be for instance a role play server. Unofficial because we are not Arenanet.

As far as putting the GLBT stamp on the server.. I think what people are trying to say is that we want the word to get out that our community will be there, before the server becomes known as something like the PvP server.. In the end we or anyone else doesn't have any control over who goes where. It is just hoped that by being known as the GLBT server we'll end up attracting more GLBT to the server over time, as well as those with an open mind.. and persuading the more intolerant to look elsewhere.. but again, we really have no control.. we're just hanging our shingle..

Cool, thank you all for answering my questions. I can see now the overall politics and how it matters one way...and the other.

I was never part of something this intricate before...this is in fact big...or at least bigger than I realized...no wonder many of you are posting so much and taking such precautions...all this time I'm thinking...they've had to much coffee and they are all hardwired on caffeine or something! :woohoo: LMAO!

I can also see that in so doing - should this all work...that no one needs to become an activist...with a bit of luck and just the right amount of LGBT safe-haven presence...then the server should theoretically operate pretty much hands-free. It's the influence that will take care of most issues.

Very nice!

If there's anything I can do to advance the cause to a favorable outcome just let me know.
