Any fleet RP still happening?

This forum is awfully dusty! Does Stonewall do RP events anymore? I would be interested in giving it a try.

Agreed. Never done any RP (outside of Legos and my imagination), but I'd like to give it a try.

Could be a lot of fun, only RP'd once in STO but was kind of disorganized. Was not with this fleet of creative people so I bet it'll be much more enjoyable. I'm all in!

They happen rarely. Though I might be wrong, it seems that they are hard to organise here. You can see announcements of past RP events on the boards in Holodeck or LCRS, I forget which.

Unfortunately, RP hasn't happened in quite some time. I used to organise it in the beginning but another member took over RP and then it stopped when the member wasn't here anymore. If there is a lot of interest in it, I'm sure the Admiralty would consider finding someone to organise it again.

Maybe we could set up a one-time event to gauge interest? I would certainly do my best to show up, or help out if there was a way I could do so.

If we're going to do this, we'll need to decide on a premise. We can have our ship captains attend some sort of conference, or to hew a little closer to the standard Trek format, we could all select ranks and positions on the bridge crew of a shared starship. I'm partial to the latter scenario, because it's a lot less formal and it gives us an instant excuse to do pick-up sessions whenever we want.

We also might want to consider designating a GM who can pose external events and answer questions like "what do I see if I scan for life forms?" I don't think it would turn into enough of a task to prevent also participating as a character, but I would be hesitant to take the reins myself, because I'm not as fluent in the lore as many here.

For some reason, I keep thinking of a GM as a Q in this context..

How exactly do you guys run RP in STO? Is it something that happens in-game or do you write stories together and post them here on the forums?
