Should the guild switch servers?

They have merged. My trooper is back in KoS.

First, I have to admit that I haven't been active in the game for a couple months now. I've had some personal issues going on that have required my attention and energy. That's not meant to be an excuse, just stating that I've had to focus on more pressing priorities lately.

I would like to give my appreciation to the officers that have remained active and diligent in their roles recently. As Halish stated, Zep is very committed to this guild. But, circumstances in his life have required that he focus on them more than being participatory here.

As far as any server switch, it isn't possible at this time. Yesterday, I received an email from Bioware stating that I had a character available for transfer. It was on Mandalore the Indomitable. I had created that character to play with someone that I knew from online several months ago. It's a PVP server and that's why he was playing on it. The destination server was The Bastion. From what I can determine, there are only select servers being allowed to transfer and to other specific servers. Thus, at this time, Jekk'Jekk Tar is neither being allowed to transfer, nor is it a destination server.

I am certain that in the future, we will revisit this topic. However, at that time, there may be a charge to transfer and the server dynamics may be different. Regardless of what may or may not happen, I would ask everyone to remember that we're all human with desires, feelings and flaws. Regardless of differences of opinions, we should treat each other with respect. That's what we're suppose to be about.

As Kiddkasper said, our server is not yet on the list for transfer. We are merely trying to get everyone's opinion to make a decision in the event we are allowed to transfer at some point. I'm not sure why we haven't been listed yet because you can't get much more dead than our server has been but until we're given the ok, it's probably a moot point. Again, I would like to hear from as many KOS and LOS members as possible so we can plan for what works best for our groups. Thanks in advance to everyone that has responded or responds. :)

I think we should definitely transfer if Jekk is an origin server, that's the whole point why Bioware is doing this is to move folks to higher populated servers. Even though they have not made it a very easy process - can't believe they didn't code guild transfers. Jekk will be on the list eventually and I wouldn't think it will be a destination server. I'm sure it's just that BW is rolling transfers out in stages so it may be just a few more days or a week or two I imagine. I plan to transfer regardless, so I hope Stonewall transfers as well.

Perhaps our Stonewall player base will become more active if a transfer is completed and when 1.3 hits live. We shouldn't feel bad about our low numbers in the guild playing, because all the other LGBTQ guilds that I have been monitoring on Jekk have mostly low numbers too. Note: I said mostly, not all guilds/factions, so to those that still monitor these forums that belong to other guilds, no offence intended.

Very true, kjmk. Bioware has stated they are opening transfers on a gradual basis. I agree it will just be a matter of time before our server is on the list.

Yeah, I'd expect us to be added to the list in a few days to a week or so. So far, all the West Coast PVE servers have been funneled into 2 servers: Drooga's Pleasure Barge and The Harbinger. I'm wondering if they'll continue that or have a 3rd. I imagine that they're monitoring populations now and will determine that as the transfers continue.

They did stress they were going to be closely monitoring server populations throughout the transfer process so maybe that's why they are moving so slowly. They want to make sure the populations are stable before they open another server to transfers. Which is a good thing but those of us waiting probably don't have any fingernails left.....LOLOL :laugh:

It was just released. We can transfer our characters to the Harbinger server if we want.

Already got all 5 of my characters on The Harbinger right now. There are 147 people at the Imperial space dock right now. I had to rename one of my characters (sad), but at least it wasn't one of the ones I was particularly attached to.

I just got an email as well about this. I honestly didn't think they'll open up more servers this quickly, but apparently this is a hot topic again.

I don't know the normal population load of the Harbinger. But at this particular moment it's showing as Standard. This may or may not be a result of the just allowed transfers. I would advise that we monitor it periodically to determine its normal load until Zepari (our guild leader) is able to get back online and digest all of this. That shouldn't be too much longer. I'm sure that most people will still support a server transfer. However, I just want us to have good info before we decide to make the jump.

Arg, was hoping they'd choose Drooga's. I've got two characters on that server already. Oh well. Harbinger here we come, I guess. Has there been any decision when/if the guild will be moving over?

Since we have been discussing this (for weeks now), I have only heard positive responses about switching servers other than my own whining about name changing; even then, I was overwhelmingly in support of it. That's why I went ahead and moved my characters. I've been monitoring The Harbinger since the announcement that character transfers would become available. It occasionally had moments of Standard even back then before the first transfer. Since then it has been Standard ever since, even at what many might consider off times considering it's a West Coast server. I haven't seen it up to Heavy yet, though. Currently with the inclusion of Jekk'Jekk, there are 11 servers that are able to transfer to The Harbinger.

We still have to get Zep to contact Customer Service about moving the guild over (items, credits, etc). However, I did join the KoS and LoS channels on my characters so we can still all talk to each other on The Harbinger till the time comes.

With this news I will be moving my characters over to the new server. Hope to see everyone soon. :)

Yeah, as soon as I finished transferring all my characters about 1300 EST, they were playable. I transferred then logged in and they were ready. I briefly brought up each one and no problems noticeable. Hope to see you all on the other side!

I will be transferring all but one of my toons from each guild to the new server and will reform the guilds as soon as I get there. I will need 3 people to log on with me to do this. Please let me know when everyone can log on so I can determine when I need to log on as well. Yeah, it will be so nice to have a functional gtn for once. :woohoo:

I moved my toons to the new server and, to test the GTN, put up 5 items for sale. All items were sold within 2 hours, so I take that as a good sign.

Yup - let's migrate. I note that today they listed our server as one to get away from. The new server for us is The Harbinger. It wouldn't make sense not to transfer because this is a one way only opportunity. Nobody will be transferring to JJT and as more and more people make the jump the already sparse population will dwindle. It isn't so much of a question of if, just when and any details or considerations of how.
