Guild Emblem Impromptu Design contest (kind of)!

Yeah I'm sure you don't have to wear the bib lol. We have to spend influence to unlock Weapons and Armor merchants that have the guild emblem on them. Then you'll just an Transmogoificationunficationsuperduperskinswapper (name may differ in game) stone (which I think you buy from the gem store) to use the "skin" of the guild armor/weapon on whatever piece of armour you have that has the best stats.

As much as I share the hatred for bibs (I hated them in WoW!), I love having my emblem on my person. Dark age of Camelot you used to show your guild emblem on shields and cloaks and seeing an army of people all with the emblem proudly tattooed on their armour is a sight to behold.

I think we should unlock the emblem creator as soon as possible and I'll let you all have free run with it for a while and we'll try and come up with something we're all happy with. Then I think we should turn our attention to the Guild Bank (at least the smallest one) after that maybe we can focus on unlocking the armour and weapons merchants. To be honest I don't imagine many of us will want to spend gems every time we get a better stated piece of equipment to switch the "skin" and thus I think as long as we unlock them before we all start hitting level 80, it should be fine.

I'm still not sure how armour and weapons stats work in guild wars 2. As i understand it all same level gear has the same stats. A looted helmet, a crafted helmet and a dungeon helmet of level 35 all have the same stats but different skin. I assume the guild weapons and armour merchants will sell weapons and armour with the same stats but a different skin.

Yes that is correct, weapon and armor all works like that, though the distribution of said stats can be slightly different.

Is there going to be a selection we can vote on? I have seen several wonderful ones so far in here :cheer:

Here's my submission. I liked the shield, which ties into the idea of a vanguard. The tree is for the eternal grove, a possible home server. The red and the blue of the leaves and the shield are the start and end colors of the rainbow flag (technically red and purple, but I'm not a fan of the purple so I went with a more indigo), and the white of the trunk is a combination of all the colors in the rainbow. I feel like this is a good way for us to include the ideas of the flag in our emblem without being too "busy."

Some great ideas. Not sure what the purple looks like in game but I happen to like the color purple. Purple is a mix of red and blue. As long as the purple has a blue undertone not and not red, it should look great. Purple with red undertones tends to look like dark pink in game.

i really like stitch's, rcb123's, and kerstov's middle one.

Although red is my favorite color, I think staying away from too much red and black will help us stand out a bit.

We only get to work with the slate gray then....how come?

The actual background should be the color of the Armor or Weapon you applied it to.

Also in WvW the emblem will show on keeps we have claimed but the background will be the colour of which ever colour our server is currently deployed as (Red, Green or Blue).

I really like nniccs fist-arrow emblem.

The fist (upwards) can carry a lot of meaning for us: we stand, we survive, we are united, we fight, we raise, etc. I think it's so perfect for us that it's almost obvious.

Also the fist could be an internal joke for those with a more pervers mind *wink* *wink* lol

Any chance of changing the arrow for a nice beautiful penis? No? Oh well just put a pink arrow then.

Not every Stonewall member likes penis. :P I do, but I thought I'd speak up for those who don't.

We actually have a very sizeable contingent of none-penis adoring members in Stonewall Vanguard.

Also the "inside" joke of the fist would actually put me off using it.. :unsure:
