Galor-class config. strategies

February 11 2012
Hey guys,

I have never tried out outfit a ship that was primarily engineer in focus (all sci. vessels for me). I need some insight in how to best build a Galor.

Right now I have built it as follows:

-Universal Lt. boff: sci, tractor beam, science team 2
-Lt. cmd. tac: tac. team, high yield torp., attack pattern delta
-Cmd. eng.: eng. team, emerg. shields, reverse shields, eject warp plasma 3
-lt. eng.: emerg. weapons, aux. to stuctural
-ensign sci: polarize hull

fore weapons: 2xspiral wave disruptors, 1xdual disruptor beam, 1xquantum torp.
aft weapons: 2xspiral wave disruptors, 1xdisruptor beam array, 1xquantum torp.

engine: borg subtranswarp
shields: ageis covariant
deflector: ageis

eng. consoles: ablative hull armor, tetraburnium hull armor, sif generator, plasma distribution manifold
tac. consoles: 2xdisruptor coils (one is mk11 rare, one is mk11 uncommon), 1xzero point quantum chamber
sci. consoles: particle generator, field generator

all equipment is either uncommon, rare, or very rare mk11

Any help is appreciated :)

As a Cruiser, your main missions is healing. I would suggest focusing you bridge officer abilities on that more.

First of all your Eng Commander ability should be Aux to Structural Integrity Field III. It's a small heal, just a few thousand points, with a short recharge, 15 secs when maxed out. It's a cruiser's BFF. For Sci, you might wanna throw in a Hazard Emitters, the highest level that you can.

That's all I got. :P Hopefully, someone else can give you more exact advice.

Don't you like Engineering Team III in the cmdr eng spot? My Assault Cruiser is a healing machine! I have recharge shields I and III, eng team I and III, science team I, hazard emitters I, rotate shield frequency, and a few more i can't remember right now. with a good mk xi shield and power set to defense, it's hard to kill without a lot of crazy science against me.

Engineering Team isn't as effective on the Command slot as Aux 3 is. Aux 3 runs on Aux power the more Aux you have the more healing you can do. This can do massive healing and a life saver in a pvp match ;) Engineering team doesn't work on that principle as much (As far as I am aware, it may have changed).

As for the Galor I've never worked with it and aren't intending to try to myself, but based on your skills u have at the moment I can work out what would suit you best.

First and foremost: What's the mish? Do you want to be a healer or a damager? Or a bit of both like myself ;)

If you want to heal or damage the consoles are a bit of a different mix, but either way engs can do both very well if worked out right.

Here is my suggestion:

Weapons: Single Phasers only with possibly one torp in the back if you are wanting to do more crits to hull, but if your a healer this isn't really that important. Standard phasers have a better firing arc and can be classed a serious damager. In essence a beam boat ;) If you go side on you can fire all phasers and compensate for the drain with EPS Transfer, nadion inversion, batteries and emergency power to weapons/aux.

As for BOs:
-Universal Lt. boff: "This is a tricky one": Sci Team 1, Hazard Emitters 2, Transfer Shield Strength 3 or 2
-Lt. cmd. tac: tac. team, Beam Fire at will, Beta or Delta (depending on what you want to do)
-Cmd. eng.: Emergency to Weapons or engineering team, RSP, Emergency to Shields, Aux to Structural
-lt. eng.: Emergency to Aux, Extend Shields 2 or Engineering team
-ensign Sci: Once again Tricky and dependent on what you want to do. Tractor would be good to grab them and fire the beams or use tachyon beam to drain their shields. (i'd have to see on the game)

(The game is down atm. Will have to double check)

Really it all boils down to what you want to do and how you want to do it.

If you need any help i'm in game, pm me on the site or access the Combat Officer Forum :)

Also Craft able items are the best :) In my personal opinion.

Additionally I tend to stick to phasers for the Sub-system procs ;)

One thing that has also just dawned on me is that originally i used to spec into Phasers as they were cheaper in skill points. Now this skill system as changed it maybe beneficial to use Tets or Polaron for Shield penetration as they drain shields.... hmm. Phasers is a must for a tac, but I will be looking into this further :)
