I also hope that everyone knows that the real heart of any guild is the members. I know how good this community is and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone helping everyone else.

Unfortunately that won't happen. It is because of that exact reason that I left Knights of Stonewall yesterday. Those of you who know me by my smuggler's name "Casro" can attest that while I was on, I always asked if anyone needed help. But I can also attest that the times that I've asked for assistance (with the exception of Xal) I've received dead silence. I won't name names but one incident on Hoth had me asking another guild member if he wanted to pair up and work on quests. "No thanks" was the reply.

I look at it this way -- if you're in a guild but you still can't find someone to group with, there is something definitely wrong somewhere.

I understand how you feel Virgo and I'm sorry you've left the guild in-game. I'm not going to make excuses for anyone who was rude to you. I know how it feels to be in a guild and ask a question only to be met with silence. I always try to respond to any request in-game, even if I have to say that I can't help because I'm busy or not a high enough level, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

We are experiencing a lull in activity as all guilds do right after the free play-time ends, and as a new guild we have not bonded properly yet. It takes time to build up the atmosphere that we have in STO for example. We faced these problem in the early days of that game, and that's when we could see who everyone was by their @handle. In this game it's difficult to remember who is who and know if that person is around the same level as you etc.

I'd like to ask everyone who is feeling a bit doubtful about Knights of Stonewall to give us a chance to prove what a great guild we can be and get over the teething problems.

I have quite decided what Im going to do,not because I have experienced rudeness from anyone, but simply because I don't see any chat at the times I play unless I join vent which as me and another stated, takes away from the ambiance, story, music, etc when you can't hear anything lol. I put an alt in a different smaller gay guild at the same time and the chat box was quite lively so for me it just may be the people who like to socialize by typing at the times that I play just arn't much there. This is my first really big guild (except for Old Timers guild for a couple of weeks on AOC ages ago) and it may be that I am just better suited for a somewhat smaller guild where its easier to get to know people. I don't want to leave the impression that this is anyones fault or that there is anything wrong with the guild, it may just be that little something Im not seeing that a smaller guild may fill.If I was a vent person in a game where story doesn't matter much (like I was in WOW), this would all be a non issue. Anyway, thanks everyone for all your feedback. The ones who posted in this thread are all awesome people and whatever I do I hope to see you in game :-)

Sorry you guys are leaving. Even though I don't play Republic as much anymore if you see my Jedi Guardian, Bhear, on he's always happy to group up for FPs or Heroics :cheer:

Although, I spend most of my time on the Empire side right now. My main is a LS Sith Sorcerer and I'm in love with the story, voice acting and environments over there. plus, shooting lightning outta yer fingers is just too much fun!! Once I get him to lvl 50 I'll prolly switch back to playing Republic more again.

I would like to add that while I can't really comment on the Republic side of things since I'm not logged in much on that toon at the moment. I can without a doubt say that I play my Sith every day and have found GChat in LoS to always be active and fun. There have been people willing to help with quests or answer questions or just talk about what crazy stuff happened in the world today. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and let everyone know it's been a very good one. I'm having a ton of fun and making new friends every day. I hate to see someone not having a good experience. All I can say is have fun!! And give me a shout if you need anything. (I'll probably be on Rhogen) :)

That is true, chatter on LoS is quite active, pleasant and friendly. Nice people :)

I agree with Duncan.

I have never experienced any rudeness as part of KoS. There have been times where people have been online and I've asked if anyone needed help and there hasn't been a response. I don't perceive that as rudeness though. SWToR has a much more "solo" feel to it than other MMO's I've played with the class quests, etc.

There are a few things that I consider when I log in and don't get a response in chat or people don't want help at a particular time:

-People may be in the middle of a mission and aren't reading chat at the moment. We all know how epic some of the battles get. I know I don't scroll up to read through chat when I'm done a battle and have missed out on conversation.

-People may be doing a quest that doesn't necessarily require more help other than for the social aspect of it.

-Personally, there have been a couple times in the past where I have spent more time waiting on other teammates than the time it took to do the mission. Not a big deal for me, but we have to look at the opposite perspective that some people may have had negative experiences in team and maybe aren't as keen on it. Unless you are in a team that is organised and ready, it can be a time waster for sure. Do I love teaming up? I most certainly do, but I also respect that there may be some that don't and are simply here for chat and to be amongst their "own people" in the gaming world.

Whatever the reasons, I have never thought anyone has been rude in the time I've been playing and like I said above, I don't perceive silence as rudeness in an action/adventure MMO and it is all about the timing of catching people when they are available to team.

I have been doing some housekeeping with some of my toons now that I've seemed to settle into my sage and juggernaut. I removed the toons I don't play from the guild (although I did have my smuggler join SoS) to make room for more characters.

I bounce back and forth between Imperial and Republic side as I can't decide if my sage or my juggernaut will be my main. However, I have noticed the Republic side has gotten a little quieter. Although, there are times the Imperial side is pretty quiet as well. It seems to come and go for both sides and I just assume its because people are involved in their in-game activities.

I know I've been doing a ton of PVP so I tend to only chat in between matches as chatting during PVP is not a skill I've mastered yet. I usually end up dead when I try.

I think one of the things that we need to keep in mind is that the guilds are still taking shape and growing into a community. It takes time to build a community, even if the guild existed in another game. Community is based on relationships of its members and those relationships take time and work.

When I first joined the game, I joined as a member of Rough Trade/Taint. I switched to Stonewall because after rolling an alt and joining Stonewall, I found that it had more potential for community than Rough Trade/Taint--that is not saying Rough Trade/Taint wasn't a great place to be because it was. There are some great folks in RT/T but the folks in Stonewall won my heart with their friendliness, humor and welcomingness (I think I made up a new word) of this off the wall Lesbian.

I've gotten to know some folks better than others and have found that most folks are just as off the wall as me but it has taken me time to get to know folks and for them to get to know me. When Zepari said the heart of a guild is in its members, he is right. The relationships we form (online, in game, in real life, whatever) make the guilds what we want them to be.

I'm off my soap box now other than to add that I have yet to meet anyone that I didn't like in Stonewall on either faction. I love hanging out with you all and will continue to do so for a very long time.
