Smuggler advice

Hey everyone!

I'm currently playing a smuggler and wanted to know if anyone had some advice. I'm in the sharpshooter spec but for some reason I tend to not be able to kill mobs fast enough and my companion usually dies. I was wondering if anyone had any success with another spec or suggestions for me. Currently I'm only 24 but any advice is greatly appreciated!

I just flipped specs from healing over to dirty fighting as I was in the same boat as you. I should get some play time with my smuggler at some point this week so I'll keep you posted.

I've actually heard a lot of smugglers mentions dirty fighting in pve/pvp while reading around. I think I might end up respecing to try it out.

I actually stopped playing my smuggler scoundrel healer at 30 and have been having trouble going back to him. Partly I've never been a huge healing fan, partly for the reasons you mention, partly who knows.

But I too have been thinking of respeccing him to dirty fighting for a while to try him out that way.

Gunslinging, especially sharpshooter, gets so much better in the later levels. The abilities from that tree speed up drastically and it becomes a struggle to use them fast enough in the end. You'll get an ability called speed shot which is going to be your bread and butter from that point on. Learn to love it! Also Leg Shot never works the way it is supposed to so don't waste the points on the skills. I am still working out a good rotation. If anyone else has any advice as to the best rotation for gunslingers to use let me know as well.
