Free month?

I was under the impression that we got the first month for free but now all the advertisements are saying in order to have uninterrupted service I have to purchase time. Since the SWTOR website is down I can't be 100% sure. Does anyone know the answer?

It's disgraceful and I absolutely mean it. You get your free month but only if you put in card details.

The only reason I can think to have this set up is so people who don't like the game after the first month get charged a second if they forget to cancel their accounts. What other reason is there?

My advice is to do what I did and enter bogus details. They don't charge you now so they don't know it won't work. Mine is set up to charge an old cancelled card of mine, so if I forget they aren't taking no free money from me.

It's still somewhat early in the business day. They still have time to do it. :side:

While irritating, I thought this was standard business practice for MMOs. Most of the ones I've played have done the same thing (WoW, CoH, CO, EQ2).

I've done the same in all other mmo's I've played...WoW, Aion, Warhammer, Rift

I'm not worried at all cause I love the game.

It is common practice. Has been done to all the major MMO games for years. Nothing new. Input your card. set your phone to remind you 3 days prior or so. and cancel if you do not like it. problem solved. if the card is not real/active whatever, you will not be able to log on, when it is processed.
