Like I said before, on the first day of early access where all the servers appeared full, the server caps will be boosted, which repeated, each day of early access.

The queues, however, I'm not sure about that.

Jekk Jekk is second unofficial Oceanic PVE server. For a supposed minority player base, there sure is alot of us. I don't understand why american mmo's always ignore us until after launch. Grr.

It's a fine line.

You can't have too many people on one server because it cripples the servers performance making it unplayable for a lot of players. You can't simply open more servers because this can cripple the game post launch, it's HORRIBLE to play on a server that is a complete ghost town and can totally destroy the MMO experience (I'm looking at you Warhammer Online). A lot of people still try and get into the "main" servers, despite the queues, because of this reason, rendering new servers pointless.

But Aldente is right, I won't be playing the game if there's still queues after the initial launch period has come and gone but it's to be expected with the sheer amount of people "trying out" the game and hammering it hard.

Try and keep your chin up, Ventrilo can be a lot of fun while stuck in a queue. Just saying.

Sad part is the way they have it set up with multiple instances per planet they can easily expand on each server they are just choosing not to. What should be happening is like when you go to change which one you are on in the planet those get full and you can't move to them not just get in.

That's what they do with STO and I'm sure all of this is simply their stated desire to have stable populations on each server they open at launch.

Surprisingly, the wait time was actually less for me on launch day. Instead of the 30 minute queues in early access, it was more like 10-15 minutes. Just enough time for me to grab a snack, start laundry, catch up on email, etc.

I think they added more instances for our server because I used to only have 2 in the options now I have 4. Which would have doubled our capacity of players. It definitely shows hope that they are fixing the issue I just wish they would have shared in the plans it would have helped the nerd rage of some players.

I got on right away last night, so they must have done something. On launch day, at the same time, it took 30 minutes or so. One day later, no wait. (Now watch, I'll be waiting for an hour tonight.)

12/22 - Seems to be a wait now and it's only 3pm PST. So far it says 25 min is the wait, was 309 in queue when I started.

Was waiting agonizingly for the game (I get mine on the 28th sadly) and checked the website. Our server is still listed as full. I hope it'll suck less as time goes on. (Namely before I play) :side:

Maybe this is just me being a relative newbie to the MMO world (only other one I have experience with is STO) and not having dealt with the server issue on there. So I logged into the game to play for a while before I wanted to officially join Knights of Stonewall. I'm currently on server Elysium. But I can't find Jekk Jekk'Tar server in the list anywhere so I can join it. I've joined the Stonewall chat channel, but no one seems to be on it.

Is this directly related to not being on the same server? And how can I get switched to that server and added to the guild if that's the case?

Thanks guys.

Ugh. Okay after logging in 4 times it finally showed up. So now the million dollar question. Does anyone know how to (if it is even possible to) switch my level 30 character from one server to another? Please please PLEASE say it's possible.

I don't think there are server transfers as of yet. :(

Have you searched the official forums on SW:TOR's main site?

Re: Our new server

Well, for one, the search function on the SWTOR fora does not exist. I've manually combed through some of the pages. Everyone agrees that they don't do it now. That's where the commonality stops.

Some say that it's one of their highest priorities especially with server loading and wait times. Others say that they MIGHT have it in the distant future for some price to switch servers. However, none of these were directly from Bioware/SWTOR representatives -- just normal users.

Ugh, kind of makes me want to die a little inside. Wanted to work to get the fundamentals of the game down, get my character how I wanted it, then join you guys. Never having had to deal with servers before (STO didn't have 'em, and that was my first and only MMO till now), I thought that was just like the STO instances. They really need to put some sort of warning there.

We should probably put up a "how to join Knights of Stonewall" checklist here, too, making sure step 1 is "Ensure you create your characters on The Jekk'Jekk Torr server," with a note explaining how this situation works for the newbies to this type of game architecture.

Van is right there is no way to transfer your character yet but there will be in the future.

You will need to create a new character on the guild server to join us.
