As for the insane prices the CE is going for, I kinda expected that. I'm sure more...enterprising...people preordered the allowable limit with the intention of selling them when they got them. Plus a lot of players who were on the fence about the game tried it out during the stress test and definitely want to do so now...and won't settle for "just" the regular version.

...but $400-$500? Ay, Chihuahua! :blink:

Holy cows! $400-$500 for CE?!?!?!? Glad I got mine in July. I checked my account on the official forums and I redemed the code on the 21st of July. I'm hopeful I'll get in at least by the 16th or 17th.

I'm more worried about the game client as I have a new computer that will need to down load everything. Blah!!!

Personally I would just settle for the standard edition if these were the prices I was facing.

Eh, i just dont see the point of getting a CE. Sure, the box is pretty and u get a neat little statue to collect dust on your desk, but its still the same game. I guess if u have the $150 to blow why not.

No way to copy it off of your old computer via a temporary network (assuming you had the latest build)? Just grab the installer (so it's in your Uninstall list), and once you get to the Launcher, close it, then copy all of the files over. This is how we handle things in our house: get it downloaded to one, then copy it over to the other.

The only game I seriously considered getting a "Collectors" or "Ultimate" edition of was the Ultimate Bundle for Assassin's Creed: Revelations from Gamestop. It included a DaVinci flying machine (I think it was like a 24" wingspan) that would have been a nice eclectic addition to our decor. GS borked the order at release so I cancelled it and just went with my original instinct of just getting the standard edition like I do with everything else.

I spend enough on our gaming addiction, I can't justify dropping an additional $50-$100 on a game.

Thats what i did cause i uninstalled as soon as i got that stupid email from bioware. Luckily my bf still had his installed, so i just ran the installer and copied his directory to mine. worked like a charm.

The only CE i have gotten in a long time is the Halo 3 one that came with a spartan hemlet, and i only got that cause they had a few on clearance at my local gamestop. before that it was tabula rasa, and we all know how well that one turned out. i just through out the box a few months ago. Kept the goodies though.

Did anyone else get early access on December 13th? I keep reading that people are starting on the 15th.

People maybe referring to this email from BioWare... The email contains a direct link to DL the client.

PRE-LOAD THE GAME NOW

Early Game Access* will begin on December 13th at 7:00AM EST, 2011 and ends on December 19th, 2011 at 10:01PM EST. During this time, we will be emailing invitations to join Early Game Access based on the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. Pre-load the game client now, so you're ready to play when your Early Game Access invitation arrives. Note that download time can vary and may take awhile.



This was not telling people when they will start, it is just stating that it does begin on the 13th.

Got the same msg, will do the download tonite when I get home.

Initially BioWare had stated that the Early Access program would commence in waves starting on December 15th.

Either they are confident enough with their final build, or have such a large number of people to grant Early Access to that they announced in the email cited above that it will start on the 13th instead.

Whatever the reason, I don't think anyone is going to argue with it. :)
