So while playing through the beta, a couple of weekends ago, I was training my knight and I am guessing I fidgeted with something while I was in combat that I lost total view of my avatar. At first I thought it was a glitch and I was adamant on filling out a ticket but I was caught in another fight and I notices that my blade appeared on my screen and I was wowed that I could play in first person. Not that I played like so, but it was interesting.

Glad im not the only one that found that, i think its the zoom function, you can zoom all the way to first person.

Yep. Like Dragon Age, Fallout III and such, most recent RPG's use similar engines so you can use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out from a Neverwinter Nights 2 feel to an Oblivion type first person view, whichever you like more. I prefer the former myself.

I find that option in most mmo's, just use the scroll button on the mose to zoom in and out.

I tried it but kind of makes me quezzy and I found it hard to see things around me.

and truth be known, you could mousewheel from 3rd to 1st and vice-versa in MMO's like Everquest 1 YEARS ago.

Personally, I only do 3rd person.

If you are seeing a fisheye effect or don't feel that you have enough FOV, hold the control (ctrl) key and scroll. (I believe it's ctrl).

Doing that will adjust the FOV.
