Thoughts on the upcoming Beta Weekend

Yeah when I tried to login using the patcher I got an error at the top of that directing me to the SWTOR website where I had to enter 5 personal questions.

Then when I tried logging into the patcher again I got asked one of these questions :)

I didn't even see the link to add them. I was so intent on trying to figure out what kind of car (make, model) that I wanted to be I blocked everything out. I'll have to try again tonite. Thanks

EDIT: I checked this morning and no option to add questions so I'm on the phone with support. Well not actually with someone, waiting in a queue to speak with them. Ugh! 1 hour in queue and counting.

After listening to musack and someone with a british accent for over 2.5 hours I just hung up. I tried calling back a few minutes ago and now they have a msg that all lines are busy and to call back. LOL

At least I got into beta this weekend with one account but the account that I can not access has the pre order code. Ugh! It will get resolved before go live. After this weekend their support desk should simmer down a bit.

Have you tried shooting off an email to their support guys, Van? They replied to me within a couple of days. Wouldn't do any harm, if you haven't heard anything back you can always phone after the weekend.

Soul still there, a little battered and beaten around the edges but still there.

Halish I'll send them an email once their website comes back but I'm thinking after this weekend will be better. I can only imagine the amount of phone calls and emails they received. Lets hope they remove this step of secret questions.

If you're still able to log in on the website, you can click on myaccount to see or alter them.

I've even had problems logging in with everything correctly entered. It kept saying login failed, login failed, login failed. Then finally it accepted it.

I was able to log in but couldn't get to the questions without the system asking more secret questions and then finally dieing. LOL

This upcoming weekend should be fun!

I only had to login once (to download the rest of the client). I entered my email and password. It showed a login failed message together with the security question. I ignored that login failed message and everything downloaded ok. When i log in now, there's no error message shown and no security question asked, but then again i don't need to download anything and can't play yet.

Can't play until Friday I hear, unless that has changed.

You can't get to your secret questions without providing an answer to the secret questions. Kind of goofy. I've sent an email and I've tried calling but now the help line just says "we are currently busy, call back". I've given up for now but will make sure that account is functioning before go live as the game codes have been added to it. Thankfully I can play this weekend on the second account.

It was a tough fight but I finally got everything set fot this weekend's beta stress test, never mind that I was the one stressing out yesterday!

Honestly, they send out the instructions for the new testers then say 'oh by the way, the website will be going down for about a day due to maintenance. During that time you can't register so try to register before or after that time'

The fact that whoever made that decision makes a lot more than me forced me to break open my emergency bottle of Real Sangria. Not good. :blink:

When I tried to login to Leviathan (sp) server during the first general stress test weekend a couple of weeks ago the server would never let me out of queue so I rolled my Sage/Seer on Naga Road (think that was the server). I am wondering if Lev is one of the permanent beta servers? Do we know what server everyone is going to camp on this weekend to group up etc? Thanks and looking forward to grouping with you all, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (US folks).

I got a question, how early in a char path can you group, can you do it from the start with others on the starting world? or do you have to wait until lvl 10 and end of the 1st quest?

From the last beta you can grp with the classes that start in your zone.

Jedi Knights and Counselors start in the same zone
Troopers and Smugglers start in the same zone

You can grp right from the start (as long as you are in the same starting zone, see above).

There are heroic quests before lvl 9 that you will need a friend or two for so it's wise to grp for them.

Virgo59 you had me laughing as I opened a bottle Monday night and Tuesday nite. LOL The stress of trying to get back into my main account! UGH! Thankfully I was able to get ahold of support this morning and they cleared up the secret question issue.

I was able to finally get thru on their support lines and got it all cleared up. Who would have thunk to remember those questions/answers!!!
