Endgame/Raiding for KOS

September 20 2011
Hey All!

Just wondering about KOS plans for endgame content and raiding. Is this something a lot of folks are interested in? I'm coming from a raiding guild in EQ2 and really enjoy raiding a couple nights a week. I'm really excited at the prospect of raiding in the Star Wars universe and wanted to see how others felt about it. Apologies if there is another thead on this somewhere.

Thanks!

Yes, Aldente is right, we will be paying attention to both Republic and Empire raiding once we have members who are able to do it. As with STO it may take some members longer than others to reach the endgame raids, but we hope those who do get there first will be willing to help others and pass on helpful hints and tips for everyone. I'd like it so that anyone can do a raid with the minimum of forward planning, and if anyone has any ideas on how to best do this, we would love to hear them.

Raiding in WoW is boring now that they nerfed the bosses in Normal and Heroic mode. I can't wait for the game to come out so I can quit wow and concentrate on leveling my Trooper.

I'm interested in raiding. Done it in quite a few other mmos.

As for Zepari's point,my idea is to have a regular day & time of the week for group content. That would promote leveling and group cohesion, as well seeing what we have to work with; x amount of healers/dps/tankers in guild, and player skill, for eg, who is suited for main tank n etc.

Why those things? Because if you have a reliable, punctual, skilled team with a good balance of roles, that can work together, then we should rip through the raiding content with no hassles. Would be awesome if we were raid ready before we started raiding

I'm interested. I haven't done any serious raiding, though; I found it kind of dull in WoW and preferred PvP. From what I've seen, it looks like it'll be a lot more fun in TOR.

After 7 years of raiding in WoW my desire to raid in any mmo has greatly decreased.

I'm willing to help anyone get raid ready, we can run instances, crafting what ever you guys need to get you there. When your in the raid I'll sit on the sidelines and cheer you guys on! :)

Well I am glad to see there is at least some interested. I have 3 years of raiding experience from EQ2 and I love doing it. The thought of raiding with an LGBT guild would be a dream come true.

Well, until you show up in the same outfit as another team member, then the bitch slapping begins, lol.

I'm in - since raiding is smaller groups I will enjoy them. Never was a fan of 25 mans but 8 and 16 sound much better.

Count me in too! I never really had a chance to raid in WoW as I never found a guild who I fit in with. So now that I have had a chance to get to know a few of you all I am sure that that experience will be extremely enjoyable and worthwhile.

My Jedi Sentinal fights for the glory that is KOS!

Yes, I anticipate lots of folks gettin' cut when that happens, but alas, that's just a hazard of gay raiding...

...abut I WILL cut somebody if they show up to raid with my clothes on. ;)

I've done some endgame raiding in WoW as a tank, and (upon finding a class that I enjoy), I'd love to do some endgame content with you guys.
My schedule is admittedly terrible though, so that's always an issue with me (plus schoolwork!) :( As long as it's casual raiding. Hardcore raiding is impossible for me :P

I am with Van on this.. I have been playing MMOs since Day 1 of EQ, so I not a real "End Gamer" I love being social and the pure enjoyment of the interactions with the guild.. I will craft all the gear you want, that I am making, but that will be my contribution to raiding.

As for helping people get ready to Raid.. I am in, I love to run instances and help new or very casual players catchup... Put my on the social committee

I love raiding, but have never had the schedule for regular raids. I work in service industry/nightlife so nights I have to close the club down I can be there pretty damn late and even most of my early shifts will last well into raid time. It'd be nice to see a few raiding groups form in the guild/alliance.

In WoW I frequently stood in for regular raiders that couldn't be there for one reason or another. Just as frequently I would get a group together who worked strange schedules like me and run 10 mans during off times for us and other hardcore raider's alts.

I'm pretty pumped about the idea that raids are only 8 and 16 in SWTOR as well. It makes raids so much more accessible and easier to organize.

So is endgame healing like in WoW etc, where the healer is totally dedicated to healing (which I always want to enjoy but never seem to be able to)? I've read that dedicated healing isn't as required in SWTOR, but you would know better I think...

although I don't have a raiding background this is one area I would love to have more exposure with. My main is going to be a Jedi Shadow, as of right now I anticipate that my focus will be DPS with some Tanking abilities hopefully so that I can serve as an off-tank during missions.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to atleast get my toes wet but I definately want to participate in the end game in SWTOR!
