The Odyssey Class

It appears the new Enterprise has a class name! Part four of the design diary is up on the STO site (leader text only), but they're cross-promoting with CBS and placing part four on startrek.com. At this hour it appears someone may have jumped the gun as the web team over over at ST doesn't have the article up yet.

But stayed tuned, chances are it'll probably be out today. There's also a couple (tiny) images on the in game render on the STO page:

That is one amazing looking ship. The design looks great

I'm really quite impressed with CapnLogan's skills! The first time I saw the ship concept, I felt a little queasy. But he's pulled it off, and I can't wait to fly this baby in game.

I love most of her although I think she's a little overweight around the middle.

Hopefully it's just the angle. That's the thing about Starfleet ships--even the Galaxy and Intrepid look horrible from certain angles. With any luck, they'll release some more views soon so we can get a proper look at her.

It was the side profile of the concept I don't like, for some reason can't shake the opinion that it's two ships stuck together really badly, but hey I could be wrong and it might be pretty cool... Still wouldn't mind seeing a Vesta class in game I would have that quicker than you could say quantum slipstream!

Bugger me sideways, that's a beautiful rendering.
I'm really hoping this will be a suitable upgrade to my Excelsior. I love the firepower and survivability I have right now (any time you want a re-match Solari... :P lol) buy I'm dying for something a little sleeker and more contemporary.

I wasn't sure about the twin necks to begin with, buy I definitely been won over.

I like it a lot too. Maybe it's time for the flagship to get an update. I wonder what the BOff slots are like and what the special ability will be.
