Heretic has posted a preview of the Doff system

It sounds really interesting and I look forward to getting to grips with it in game.

Looks good. I think I've already decided on some of my department heads.

I really hope this is as 'complicated' as it sounds. Not that I think people will be confused, but I really don't want them to dumb it all down. If they do that, everyone will just race through it and be bored again.

It will be nice if we can eventually feel like we're captaining a ship full of people, rather than just our Boffs :)

Exciting! When the department heads go live I'll be a happy little invader ^_^

Of course, as I appear to have a Boff addiction, I'm likely to end up with half of Starfleet as my Doffs.

This looks really good, I see this new system as a way balancing out my character by allowing more skill points to be available towards ground mission traits that are good for STF's while not sacrificing power to my ship and space abilities for PVP.

That looks ridiculously cool! I've only been back in-game for a month or so and haven't been following much of the upcoming changes, but this sounds like something that'll keep me engrossed for a long time.

Mot that I need to spend any more time and energy micro-managing crew, I've been known to take the better part of a day to get everything just so when one of my Captains tiers up.
