Steam Group?!

Personally, I love Steam, and run all my games through it (even ones I bought separately). The community features are pretty nice, and you can see which of your friends are playing which games and when...

With that in mind, is there any chance we could get an official Stonewall group made?

It'd let us see who's currently online and what they're playing, as well as make it much easier to recruit extra people for STFs, etc, since you can msg them even when they're not in a game. :cheer:

Of course, if I'm the only one that uses Steam then maybe it won't be that useful. :P

*shakes head in disbelief* ;)

http://store.steampowered.com/

It's a game purchasing & playing portal... averages 1 to 3 million concurrent users at any one time!

There are some exceptionally cheap game deals on there now and then, but if a game is not on special it can sometimes cost more than a physical copy

You can add non-steam games to the portal and launch everything through the same interface, which gives you:

- A friends list where you can see who's playing what, and send them messages.
- Voice comms with friends/groups.
- In-game steam overlay (shift-tab), which gives you an in-game web browser, friends list interface, etc.

Highly recommended!

xD i'd join the steam group if ya made one >.> but i don't use Steam much i only have HL2 and CSS on it ^^, Windows live for me ^_^. That asid you could use XFire for help getting ppl online for STFs since that too shows what your playing and can chat out of game also ^^. I used to use XFire soooo much back in the day of Star Trek Bridge Commander and Star trek Armada 2 ^^

haha... well it's worth checking out Steam if only for the regular special offers. :P

The games seem to run exactly the same through Steam as without, Sean... and for those games that don't like being alt-tabbed, you can then instead access the internet by shift-tabbing to get the Steam overlay up - can be handy! :)

I use steam but only for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and "Civilization 5". I don't use the steam launcher for all my games. Currently, I just use it for the games that require it.
