Ventrilo headset suggestions

I've never used ventrilo and been considering trying it. Any recommendations for a headset? Is it worth shelling out big bucks for the fancy models? What do you use? Thanks.

This is the one I use for Vent and for the Priority One podcast

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-LifeChat-LX-3000-Headset-Black/dp/B000JSDOMO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1299465021&sr=8-1

Very good quality (I think) for a surprisingly low price! Very easy to use, even has its own mute button as well as volume buttons. Also it is very robust! I have dropped it, stood on it, stuffed it in a case to American and back (over 8000 miles in all) and this has yet to show any signs of wear or loss of sound quality.

The headphones are very comfortable, even over long durations. The only problem I have with it, is that the cable tangles very easily and some of the plastic has worn away on the cables, leaving a small section bare, but nothing some tape cant fix. Not bad for a year of hard work from a headset!

its about a week or 2 late , but if you wanna go all out with a headset

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tritton-AX-Pro-Precision-Surround/dp/B0017IUFAE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300993104&sr=8-1

I use that , and i can say the quality is Fantastic. P.S you need a Optical output on your pc for the best connection , but it comes with a 3 way spliter for the standard pc ports, the Green , Orange , Black and red ports.

Logitechs HD Camera Range has brilliant built in mics with right sound tech. I've been looking online for a new mic webcam. U should check them out:

The C310 HD is quite cheap too, but then the price range bumps lol.

Don't get the Plantronics 655 unless you've got small ears. It's got great features, but the ear cups are a bit on the small side and it gets uncomfy after a while of using it.

thats a cool pc headset ^^ Do you know if its 7.1 Emulated like a Turtle Beach X41 wireless?? (useing 2 Drivers, 1 in each ear cup) or like my Tritton AXPro's it uses 8 Drivers (4 in each ear) for true surround sound?? Cause at that price, if it uses Multiple drivers in each cup, The value is crazy ^^

actually, it really sucked and I am returning it ASAP -- the microphone quality coming through is crap and very staticy and buzzy. very disappointed.

So I went back to Frys and tried another one while I was there but returned it too. I'm just gonna stick with the corded one as the guy there told me it will be the best quality anyways.

I did pick this up, though, which I am looooooving
