Star Trek: The Journey

August 14 2010
Today, I am embarking on a 2 year journey through Star Trek history, and I invite all of you to join me.

Star Trek: The Journey

Everyday, for the next 2 years, I will be setting aside 45 minutes to watch an episode of Star Trek, starting with TOS and ending with the 2009 Abrams film (and most likely, Star Trek XII). I will span 30 seasons, including 727 episodes, and 11 movies.

I will update this thread daily with the current episode as well as the link(s) of where to watch it on your computer, iPhone or iPad. I hope many of you will join me :) So, without further adieu, set a course for history. ENGAGE!

Oh wow! This sounds like a really cool idea! I once tried doing this with every game in the main Final Fantasy series, but had to stop at VII because XIII came out. :P

By the way, I'm pretty sure The Cage aired before 1988. :D

Wiki
It was completed in early 1965 (with a copyright date of 1964), but not broadcast on television in its complete form until 1988

I wasn't doing anything for the next 2 years. Count me in! I already completed my first assignment.

Brandon- did you have a list of episodes/movies that you were going to use as a guide for viewing?

Thanks!

Oh wow! I had no idea it wasn't aired until 20 years after it was made. You learn something new every day!

Excellent Idea Brandon. I may just have to try and do the same.

Also a suggestion, in 2 years when you finish, try watching some of the fan films that are out there. Hidden Frontiers has some good series they created. However, the stuff in the beginning was lacking a bit technically and they admit it. Also, Of God and Men is a good fan film series that was produced by Tim Russ and brings back some folks from various star trek movies/series.

I agree. Hidden Frontiers has some great stuff especially in the later seasons. startreknewvoyages.com also has some cool episodes. George Takei, Walter Koenig and other folks have made guest appearances. The Takei episode is actually one of the best trek episodes I've ever seen.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but Hidden Frontiers also had some nice male/male romance involving a sexy young Trill. There was also one particularly sexy episode in which he got strapped into some kind of electronic pain machine with a gay male Klingon as part of an endurance trial. It's worth seeing

He was a Bajoran, but sexy he was! Yeah, that team was very pro-gay inclusion. There were three gay main characters. Two of them are main characters in they "spin-off" what is supposedly wrapping up this year.
