Hello--
I'm brand-new the past week or two to STO. This is my first-ever MMO, though I do play D&D on occasion. The one thing that got me into this particular MMO is that it's Star Trek. A lot of my dreams at night are set in the Star Trek universe. So I'm a geek even in my sleep. :-)

I'm 36, an artist and jewellery designer in Minneapolis. Real name is Whittier, most folks call me Whit.

I sing in Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus and volunteer with a group that works on relationship development--of all sorts--within the queer community.

Beyond that, I spend a lot of time with my friends. I'm a part of a large poly family, and we spend what time we can together.

Really getting into this community.

Peace

Hi

Im 18 and from Edinburgh in Scotland. Kind of got into ST when we got cable TV and watched old TOS, TNG and Voyager. Never really got into DS9!

Im currently a student at my local college studying Sports Health, so like sports and play football (soccer) for college and enjoy swimming, badminton and snow boarding!

Currently single so looking for lots of Trekkie mates to keep me entertained and company!

Plaese say hello!

I suppose i ought to reintroduce myself. I joined the fleet in march last year, but after levelling I found the endgame content to be lacking and so I went back to World of Warcraft.

Since then I've been quite busy, I got a job as a flash game developer, bought an appartment and got married. (I also graduated college in february '10, so it was quite the year).

The only downside of my new job is the 2 hour travel distance, which meant that I no longer had the time or energy to play warcraft at a hardcore raider level as I had for 4 years previous.

So I decided to check in again at Star Trek Online to see how the game has improved over the past years, and boy has it ever!

I'm levelling a new Science officer, Snownovae@Snownova, currently at commander. My old toon Snow@Snownova was a RA engineer, but being my first char I made some major mistakes levelling him.

Hi everyone. I'm Ian from Cardiff in the UK (Torchwood viewers across the pond will know it).

I'm not new to fleets as I used to be an active member of UFDF but stopped with them about a year ago as life got too busy. They're now defuct (I'm not suggesting it was down to me leaving, even though that would be devestating  ).

I love most series of Star Trek, especiall Voy, later seasons of DS9 and the last season of Enterprise (the rest of it is garbage).

I've just got my first character to VA, although I die within a few seconds of PVP so maybe I need to work on it.

In the outside world I am training for the marathon and am running in between missions.

Be good to be a member of an active fleet again!

heh, small world. My name's Gareth or Gaz for short. I live about 9 miles from Ian, above. In a small city called Newport. They've also used locations here in Torchwood btw, including the episode where my comprehensive school blew up (nice!)

I'm not really used to being a fleet, but have played STO for over a year. I have no ALT characters yet though, and my main is a VA commanding a Galaxy Refit of mashup Venture/Galaxy. Which I love.

Grew up with TNG, DS9 VOY etc, but TNG far outshines all of them for me. I happen to love NuBSG and was quite disappointed how Caprica turned out.

I work for a charitable organisation in the real world, although I'm a trained teacher.

I really like to be creative; I've done some Trek and non Trek 3d renders and artwork and I like to think of myself as quite skilled in photoshop too.

I love architecture, especially art deco; my favourite architect is Santiago Calatrava.

My BA (hons) was in Theatre and Media studies. Which i took at UGlam and as an exhcange student at Central Missouri State University.

I did my PGCE a few years later.

Love history, particularily antiquity. There's alot to be said about the journey involved with our ancestors and how and where we got to be today. :)

I guess I should post here.

I'm Jobert. Sej@Ereiid ingame.

I only just picked up STO, having quit all MMOs for a long time in order to finish my doctoral degree. Used to play CoH/CoV, SWG, and WoW for awhile.

I've run with some powergaming types in the past, though I'm more inclined to be casual around here. Especially having some experience with Cryptic's more relaxed approach to gaming in general.

Offline, I work. Like, a ton. I cook, snowboard, do yoga, and travel a bunch - mostly for work, but one will take what one can get.

So how gay am I that I started singing "...Getting to know all about you..."

Any way,

I'm Tsar from Orlando, FL area and I just made VA so I decided it's time to start playing with a Fleet. Played CoH, AoC, WoW, GW and TR and a few other regrettable MMOs. But this one actually seems like something I can stick with.

Really need help with my build though kinda just put points haphazardly where I needed it at the time and kinda regrets a few of those. So if any one know of a good DPS PvE Build show me the way.

I also sing with Orlando Gay Chorus

Just joined recently after playing for around 4ish months. Living in Salt Lake City (No, I'm not mormon.), happily (usually) married and with the same person for 17 years now. Own my own catering and personal chef company, so, as much as I would love to take part in fleet things more, unfortunately scheduling often prevents such things.

I'm usually pretty friendly, if quiet, and try to be helpful. Feel free to give me a shout sometime, any time really. I don't bite until the third date. ;)

Hi. I am Sam. A 32 year old guy from the South West UK.
I am a big and broad Bear like guy.

I work full time in a hotel. This means that my actual playtime can be rather limited at best.

I am single and have been for quite a long time. See above for one of the key reasons. lol. Random rotas and late shifts seem great for killing romance.

I have loved Trek since I was a kid. Seeing the Animated and ToS stuff when very young. Gawd how the Horta scared me as a kid. And still remember the excitement when Next Gen was announced and watched it as much as possible.

I love all kinds of Sci Fi and not just televisual or movie related. My shelves bow under the numbers of books I have from many different authors. Although mostly from the British New Wave.

I am also a big fan of animals etc and in STO will usually be a Caitian or Ferasan. I guess you could liken it to the Furry Fandom. But I am just me and like my big anthropomorphic felines.

In game I tend towards general fun and play around grinding up chars and playing good Episodes etc. Not really done much EndGame stuff yet as I usually have another alt and idea for how I want them to look or play. I will look to do more as and when I get my Stonewall chars to 45+ and can set up some useful ships.

Hi, everyone! I'm Eric. I'm 29 and live in the San Francisco Bay Area (and grew up here, too).

I'm actually not a new member; I joined Stonewall back during the launch of STO. About a year ago I ended up taking a break from the game, partly because my life got busy, but also partly just because I felt I'd done all I could in the game. However, I recently got an itch to come back. I'm a huge Trekkie, always have been, and the recent Star Trek 2 trailer sealed the deal.

I'm updating my game as I write this, so here here some tidbits about me:

-- I'm a scientist, first and foremost. I recently got my doctorate and am now conducting research into biomedical optics for my postdoc.

-- My hobbies (in addition to gaming and Star Trek) include martial arts and fitness, singing, and writing.

-- With regard to writing, I've actually written a few STO/Stonewall fiction pieces. In addition to the Stonewall stories (which I'm flattered and honored to see are still stickied!), I also wrote a series of stories about my main ship, the USS Pandora.

-- In addition to Star Trek, I'm also a massive Whovian. I can't wait for the Christmas special and the return of Oswin!

And I see Starbases are finally in the game! Good lord, I trust Stonewall's is the most fabulous of them all?

Greetings!

I'm Justin, and I'm 35 years old. I started my love of Star Trek with TNG and have enjoyed all of the series since. I have recently come back to STO from a long hiatus and am happy to see all the additions and improvements.

I'm an IT & Compliance Manager for a non-profit organization in the United States. However, my degree is in music composition with a minor in French. I'm currently working on a plan to attend DigiPen, a school in the Seattle area where I can get a degree in video game sound design.

Also, Chemkarate's avatar makes me quiver in all my quivery places.

Hello everyone,

My names is Lars and I am 21 years old. I live in the Netherlands.
At the moment I do not have work and I do not go to school, but I am working to be accepted at an IT class. Until then I have some personal issues to solve.

I am a hetero male, but am a supporter of equal rights for LBGT's. My two best friends are both lesbian and I myself are considering to change my gender  (although I'm not sure of it yet). Another reason I support LGBT-rights is that I found LGBT's to be the most fun people to have around :woohoo: So far it is a generalization that has proven to be true in STO :P

My hobbies include writing stories and gaming. The gaming is actually more of an addiction, but I'm working to get that on the right track again (although this STO Winter Event isn't really helping  ) STO is the first MMO I have ever played and since I started with STO I have played other MMO's, but didn't like them. Other favorite games of mine include Dragon Age, Mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls series.

My parents often watched Star Trek when it was on TV, so I can't really remember a time I wasn't a Star Trek fan :cheer: I can't really say which of the series is my favorite, since they are all fun and have their own story and their own strengths.

I currently have four characters in STO  Claire d'Charmont (Caitian :woohoo: ) and Harrison are in the Stonewall Fleets (and Harrison off course in Deep Space Stonewall) and Alice is a KDF Joined Trill(who loathes the Federation :P ) in the KDF Stonewall Fleet (forgot the name, sorry  )

Have fun!

Lars

edit: I see I have used a lot of emoticons. I will try to limit them in the future

Hi Tim (and everyone else),

I'm Lew, I'm 36 and originally from Caerphilly in Sth Wales, UK. I'm currently now living in a small town called Stone in Staffordshire (still in the UK).

I work full time in Logistics but I'm working in my spare time to complete a degree in I.T & Computing, after which I aim to do a PGCE so that I can then teach it. My long term goal is that when this has all been done to try and move out of the UK, I would love to try and setting in the USA. How that is going to pan out exactly I do not know but I've a few things to get done before that.

I've been a science fiction fan for longer than I can remember, I think it started with Doctor Who when I was very young and went from there. I'm pretty new to the MMO world. I heard STO was coming and had a go at LOTRO. I'm not really into the whole Middle Earth thing so that one came and went. I joined STO and bought the pack etc etc. I left it for about a year and have recently picked up where I left off. It's changed a hell of a lot so I'm having to learn it all again. I'm still not 100% sure what I'm doing on it but that's all part of the fun. I treat it as a bit of fun and a distraction, I don't get too serious about it and I really don't understand those that seem to loose their tempers with others on there. I'm happy enough to give group missions a go but my experience of the game since the changes is not that good at all. There's where the fun lies I'd say.

I have 3 characters on the game, one of each type, my Tactical is currently the one that's in Stonewall as that's the main one I use, need to get the others on here too really.

When I'm not working or playing STO I like to travel, I've seen quite a lot of the world but there's always more to see. I enjoy ancient history, new age theories and astronomy.

Hope to bump into more of you on the game.

Greetings Tim,

I'm also pretty new here myself, welcome to the fleet! My name is Daniel, born and raised in Riverside California (50 miles east of Los Angeles) I started watching Star Trek at a pretty early age, long before I think I understood exactly what it meant. Did help me establish a long standing love for science and progressiveness.
I started with TNG, and by my middle school years I had the Original series film box set (1-6) and probably watched them every weekend. HAHA I think I had greater trouble as an adult coming out as a trekie than coming out as gay; I'm still trying to figure out which one was harder on my family and community.

I feel for you about your disorder, as a kid I had a series of physical handicaps that prevented me from engaging in "normal formative social behaviors". LOL so swimming, climbing, bike riding, and a lot of other interactions happened in late teens or adulthood. Still dealing with an inability to cope with many social situations (without the involvement of alcohol). I don't mean to compare, just sympathize. I hope you enjoy playing in our fleet, so far everyone has been nice, helpful, and generally welcoming :)

Welcome! Man, what is it with the hot British people around here? It's enough to make a California boy consider giving up sunshine to head across the pond.

Also, I sympathize with the turning 30 thing. I'll be hitting the big 3-0 myself this August.

Welcome CJ, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience in your old Fleet. I'm sure you'll find us a pretty friendly bunch with a collective penchant for hilarious shenanigans.

Having only rounded the big Three-Oh bend myself last September I can tell you it's not so bad.

Hey all,

I'm Robert or you can just me Fish/Fishy. Just joined recently along with my best mate, Cj. We game everyday, either on the pc or 360. How he puts up with me everyday, I'll never now. All I can say is, "He likes me, he really likes me." lol

I just turned 33 yesterday. Bleh...I've skipped my bday the past 2 yrs. now, so technically I guess that means I'm still 31. I should of started skipping it at 25. ;) Hmm, I had a kidney transplant. It will be 2 yrs on Oct. 18. Love my mom. Best gift ever. I don't mind talking about it or Dialysis. I'm on open book when it comes to that topic. I've dealt with kidney failure all my life. So ask away, pm, friend request - love to chat and make new friends. One of these days I'll find my way onto Vent.

I have a kitten named Sigyn. She's a right lil monster.

After being in Mattachine and realizing it was the wrong fleet for me in many ways, I left along with a few other members. We started a new fleet but that didn't turn out too well. So Cj and I left and made our own fleet. Basically what he said, "to get away from random invites and for storage."

Hey, everyone! I figured I'd post here to say hey and hopefully meet new people.

I'm Adrien, and I live in New York City. I used to teach ESL in Japan, but after my last contract ended I returned home. I've been looking for work for several months, but so far nothing has panned out. I have a feeling this might change soon, but I don't want to go counting chickens before they hatch.

I'm in the process of going back to school to study Speech-Language Pathology. I'm most interested in speech disorders in bilinguals as well as transgender voice therapy. I'm really looking forward to starting school again this summer!

I don't have a lot of MMO experience. I played FFXI for about a month or two when it first came out. I have so far resisted my best friend's pleas to play WoW with her. I love Trek, so when I found myself jobless I figured I'd give STO a shot. It's been a lot of fun so far!

Most of my gaming experience has been with single-player RPGs like the Persona series, the Ultima series, and Planescape: Torment. I also enjoy forum-based and IM-based roleplaying. I used to LARP back in undergrad, and I've played a few pen-and-paper games but never had many good experiences with them.

Finally, I use gender-neutral pronouns (they/them/their) as I'm genderqueer.

I've been meaning to play Mass Effect for some time. The big problem is that my TV is very small, and playing PS3 games on it is very rough because they're not optimized for an old CRT. I'll get a new TV whenever my ship comes in...

Hi folks

I'm Jamie, I've been hanging around on here for, oh, ages. I've been hanging around in the background because I'm more used to small guilds with a few dozen members. I live in London, work full time, try to get some gametime in the evenings when I'm not getting disapproving frowns from the other half.

I enjoy playing STO very much - though I'm a fickle partner and I've been cheating with World of Warcraft, which has been my first MMO love. However, I'm very keen to get into STO *properly* and experience some fun PVE team and endgame events. I fancy myself a fairly decent Eng/Cruiser tank but I'm always willing to learn how to be better.

As I'm London based I'd like to get to know more UK players, but I'm sure you're all lovely.

Jim
