[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend

June 16 2019

Founded in 2008, Stonewall Fleet is one of Star Trek Online's oldest and largest fleets, and we're proudly the premier gay, LGBT+ and ally fleet within the game!  Ever since the first year following the fleet's inception, Stonewall has hosted an annual pride celebration, opening it's doors to the entire Star Trek Online community and inviting everyone to come out to celebrate with us.

In keeping with that tradition, we here at Stonewall are excited to host our TENTH annual pride weekend on July 13th & 14th, 2019!  This time of year is a time of great celebration for the GLBTQ2+ community.  Millions worldwide celebrate in remembrance of the Stonewall Riots, which were a major changing point in the gay & lesbian rights movement that not only affected the GLBT community, but the entire world.

For our entire weekend event (13th-14th July) schedule and a description of all of our Pride events including times, check out our official Pride page by clicking right here!  We're so excited for our big event and hope to see you and your friends from both outside and within Stonewall at Spread the word!

[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend

June 16 2019
Let's kick it off with the....

This year, I will be taking you on a Pride Parade in Pink Purple!
We will be meeting around DS9 and make our way around the quadrant.

We encourage everyone to make their ships as pink as possible, although it's not a requirement ;)
To achieve that, you can use some of the following vanity shields:

If you don't have access to those (They require T6 Reputations), you can also just use a paintjob. I recommend the Leo, Virgo or Orion patterns.

Note that ship visuals differ between vessels. In this particular instance, the The Temporal Vanity Shield bugged and did not render properly. (The Competetive shield is closer to how it normally looks)

To make the parade as smooth as possible, we will be dividing into teams on the day of the event. Once done, follow your team leader manually at Warp ~5. It doesn't matter what ship or gear you have, as long as you make sure to set your speed by hand.

From DS9, we will be flying around the Alpha Quadrant, partially mirroring the Tour The Galaxy route and then returning to DS9 just in time for the next event.

Tosk - The Game

In this game, one person - the Tosk - hides ANYWHERE on the DS9 Promenade, which includes all levels of Quark's, the docking tunnels, the shops and both levels of the promenade. All other game participants (who were gathered on the OPS before) then go looking for the Tosk.
Whoever finds the Tosk scores 1 point and becomes the Tosk for the next round. We will play as many rounds as possible within one hour. DS9-themed prizes will be awarded to the players with the most points = who most often found the Tosk.

The hunt goes on!

[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend

June 20 2019

Join us on Bajor’s Hathon for the next leap of our Pride festivities; our Costume Contest! The air is scented heavily with exotic spices, while it’s being pervaded by strange and bedazzling music… the sheer pressure on your senses almost overwhelms you, yet you want more. This mystical land, of magic and sand… is more than it seems! With Pride it is announced that this year’s Costume Contest theme will be:

Arabian Nights

And we will have two categories in which you can participate.

1 – The Sultan’s Harem

For the Sultan’s evening entertainment a large and diverse troupe of fire breathers, sword swallowers, belly dancers, magicians, and many other proud performers frequent the Royal Palace. The Sultan is often deeply impressed by exotic forms of entertainment, exorbitant displays of vividly coloured fabrics, or anything else that dazzles the senses…

2 – Fabulous Fairy-tale Prince(ss)

The Sultan’s only child and Heir to the Throne is looking for a Prince(ss) to together rule the desert lands with. Show off your proud and noble heritage, or impress the Heir with your street rat charm. Display your fitness to rule these magical lands, be it with an iron fist as it is your royal birth right, or through charm and empathy for those sandy street dwellers from which you originate.

Your costumes will be judged on their originality, how much they fit the encompassing Arabian Nights theme, and how much they are in line with the descriptions of the two categories.

The use of pets from far and fabled lands, or enhancing your show with visual abilities is allowed and encouraged, as long as they do not affect any of the other contestants, hosts, or spectators.

Stonewall Credits will be awarded to the winners in each category. Per category the prizes will be divided as follows:

1st place - 3 Stonewall Credit
2nd place - 2 Stonewall Credit
3rd place - 1 Stonewall Credit

[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend

June 28 2019

The "Disco Ball Wars" is a straight forward, Team Vs Team PvP battle.
We will gather everyone who wants to play this game..
and Put you into teams.

You will spawn with your team in your Disco camp on the map.
The basic idea of this game is simple...
Take down the Enemy's Base as fast as you can!

You can do this by gathering Disco dust (A Virus) that has been made by your Teams computer.
Only one person can carry the dust at any time.. so if you see someone glowing with disco orbs popping out of them.. maybe you would like to defend them.

(You will find the computer that makes the Disco dust virus at your home camp)

Now that a player in your team has the Disco virus.. they need to make their way into the enemy base to deposit the virus...
but wait...
The enemy base will be heavily fortified with turrets and other mines to try and take you down
( your camp will too for the opposing team)
So you may need to deal with them first.
If your a sneaky team.. you will perhaps lay down some turrets of your own from your kits?? Make it harder for the opposing team to download the virus into your camp.

(Deposit the Disco dust at a console that looks like this near your enemy's home camp)

This game requires team work.. so talk among yourselves before the game.
Will you pick team members to defend the Virus runner?
Will you take out the turrets and mines before your team virus runner gets to the enemy camp?

Consider planning for this game in advance...
These posts are designed for you to get prepared for the big #Pride10 event weekend... Make sure you tell other Stonewall Members to come take a look at these "plan ahead" posts.
So maybe have a look at your kit.. what would help you defend someone from downloading a Disco Virus into your home Base??

In Brief:
- Get a Disco Virus from your home camp
- Download the Disco virus to the computer in your enemy teams camp
- With each downloaded virus, you win points for your team
- which ever team destroys the enemy's camp first are the winners!

A VERY fun PvP game no matter what your level OR your ability, your playing with only stonewall members.. so absolutely no pressure at all.. just fun with friends!
See you at Pride10!!

July 11 2019

Star Trek Scavenger Hunt

The #Pride10 scavenger hunt will send you across the galaxy in search of a number of targets, which you are tasked with photographing in the form of screenshots.

When the event begins, the targets will be posted in Discord. From that point, players will have one hour to find and collect photographic evidence of each target before a one-hour timer expires. At that time, players will have a 15-minute grace period to upload their photos via a private message in Discord.

Targets will have an easy mode worth 1 point, and a hard mode, designated by square brackets, worth 5 points. For example, one of your targets might be:

A [Rose-Colored] Galaxy-Class Cruiser

In this example, one point would be awarded for any screenshot including a Galaxy Class Cruiser, but 5 points would be awarded if it was pink (either because of vanity shields, its paint job, or pink lighting in the zone where it was found -- as long as it fits the description, it counts). Points will be awarded only for one difficulty level -- you cannot get points for both hard mode and easy mode by submitting two screenshots, so don't even think about it, buster.

Rules

The rules are fairly simple:

  • All targets can be found in areas accessible to all players, though some areas may have level requirements or may need to be unlocked through mission progress. However, all areas are fair game. If you can find a target matching the description in an area that's restricted to your faction, for example, that's OK.
  • If you locate a target, you are allowed to tell others where to find it. Or not.
  • Screenshots may be uploaded during the event, or during the 15-minute grace period afterward. Screenshots submitted more than one hour and 15 minutes after the even starts will not count toward your score.

Prizes

After the contest is complete, not only will you have a collection of screenshots suitable for framing and hanging in your Ready Room, but there are SWCs to be had as well, courtesy of our lovely and talented Resource Department:

1st Place: 5 SWCs
2nd Place: 4 SWCs
3rd Place: 3 SWCs
4th Place: 2 SWCs
5th Place: 1 SWC

Dear Fleet,

today I  was woken after three hours of sleep by a roommate who was freaking out as he thought we were having another earthquake (it was the washing machine) and then just a couple of hours after drifting off again, by Jehova's Witnesses.  I was tired and cranky this morning but determined to join the Fleet for the Pride festivities.

Wow.

I'm blown away.  As a former long-time Guild leader, I know how much time and patience it can take to organise events.  I had fun, my tiredness and crankiness were (somewhat) dispersed and it truly made me feel the warmth of Clan camaraderie once more.  I was missing it.

All of the events thus far have been impressive but I do have to mention the Bingo and the Gif contests.  The preparation which went into them was remarkable.

And it was lovely ending the day watching a film together.  I hope we do that more often. :)

Thank you.

Michlo

[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend

July 14 2019
Opening Speech:

Welcome everyone to the Tenth Annual Pride Weekend. As is customary, I’m going to start us out with a few words.

Ten years is a pretty big accomplishment. We wouldn’t have ever gotten here if it wasn’t for the tireless effort of some many people. Some of them have been here, helping maintain and build our fleet for years. I’d like to take this time to praise some of the people currently working to make SGN a better place. Feel free to show your appreciation as well.

@Voleron first joined the Admiralty in 2013 taking over the Department of Fleet Resources from Admiral Tuvak. Before this, he served as a Fleet Captain in the department. As Chief, he spearhead re-arranging our banks and implementing the standard we still use for upgrading our holdings. He hosted the extremely popular Trek Trivia events that takes him hours to prepare and host. Now, he servers as our PR Officer where he expertly manages our social media, creates wonderful graphics and works hard to promote all of our events and guilds. Dave, thank you so much for all you do.

@GXV3 joined the Admirals in 2015, taking over Fleet Resources from Voleron. As Chief, he wonderfully manages our holdings, organizes the banks and monitors our assets. In his tenure, he launched and maintains the Stonewall Credits Store. On top of his duties, he regularly hosts fantastic events like Reflection Day, raffles, and walking challenges. He manages and promotes Stonewall Watch, our Overwatch guild. Gareth, think you for all the creativity you bring to the leadership.

@Robin has been serving as a Fleet Captain since 2015. He’s always been an active and engaged Fleet Captain, serving with distinction. On top of his duties in Fleet Resources, he has single handedly donated over 6 billion EC worth of prizes to Stonewall Fleet. Robin, thank you so much for your never-ending generosity.

@Tlara has been a Fleet Captain since 2017. She’s always active, engaging and willing to help out another fleetmate. On top of her duties in Fleet Resources, she hosts the yearly Yourovision event with betting games, fashion contest and dance. As well, she’s selfless funded week long boosts for the fleet. Thank you so much for your energy, Tlara.

@calx, or Cal as he’s more commonly known, is a more recent addition; being promoted just a couple months ago. But he’s been working hard for Stonewall Fleet long before he had a position. Years ago, he was promoted to Editor-in-Chief of the Stonewall Times after volunteering as a writer for many issues. Single handedly he curated articles from authors, organized them and created the layout. He put our Issue 36 earlier this year. Thank you so much for your perseverance, Cal.

@Chipz416 is another new addition, joining in March. While Chipz is still getting his toes wet and learning the ropes, he’s already showing the signs of becoming one of Stonewall Fleet’s great Admirals. He goes above and beyond in encouraging and supporting all of the leadership. He’s the definition of a Morale Admiral. Thank you Chipz for your enthusiasm.

@SaintPlazma was first promoted to Fleet Captain in 2011 where he joined the defunct Personnel department. Later rejoined in the leadership in 2014 joining Klingon Affairs and later transferring to Morale where he serves today. SaintPlazma has always been an involved and active Fleet Captain; helping out wherever he can. On top of his duties, he hosts special events like the Romulan Farmer’s Festival. Thank you for your commitment, Eddie!

@Caijamin first joined the leadership in 2015 as a Fleet Captain and later that year was promoted to Admiral where he served until 2016. After a hiatus from the game, Cai rejoined the leadership in 2018 as a Fleet Captain. Cai an example of the fantastic lineage of Morale Admirals that Stonewall Fleet has had. Always friendly and kind, Cai was a fantastic Admiral and still serves the community well. Thank you so much Cai!

@Balduranne also joined the leadership in March, serving as a Fleet Captain in the Morale Department. While still new and getting used to leadership, we’re glad to have her among our ranks!  She’s already helping out with Morale events and has generously donated a custom pixel art drawing as part of this year’s raffle! Anna, thank you so much for your support!

@Zander_Hawk has been serving as Chief of Fleet Resources since 2016. He first held the same position in 2012 where he served for a year. Zander has worked hard to standardize the way we handle our members and actively works to develop future leaders. He posts regular updates to the fleet on the status of his department to go above and beyond informing the community about memberships. Thank you so much for your hard work, Zander!

@Bren has served as a Fleet Captain since 2013. During his tenure, he’s spent time in Combat Operations, Fleet Resources, and Membership Management. It’s safe to say he’s well versed in the fleet’s operating procedures! Thank you so much for the support, Bren!

@Dax_aussie_boy was promoted to Fleet Captain in 2017 for the Membership Management Department where he’s served and supported the membership since. While the rest of us sleep, our aussie down under watches over us. Thank you so much, Dax!

@JimJMcL1a joined the Membership Management Department in 2017 where he still serves as a Fleet Captain. He’s always active and happy to help out a fleetmate. On top of his regular duties, he’s taken on the job of re-launching Stonewall Fleet roleplaying group. Thank you so much, Jim!

@DrTheopolis was promoted to Fleet Captain in 2017, joining the Membership Management Department. When he’s not trotting the globe, he’s always around to have fun and hang out. He goes out of his way to welcome each new recruit that signs up to our community. Thank you so much for your welcoming spirit, Brian!

@Trick first joined the leadership in 2017 as a Fleet Captain for Combat Ops. Three months ago, he was promoted to Admiral of the Department. Trick is always happy to help members with their builds and his builds are legendary. He’s expertise is only dwarfed by maybe that of his Fleet Captains. He has what it takes to become another great Admiral! Thank you so much, Trick!

@Gravity first became a Fleet Captain in 2013. In 2015, he was promoted to Admiral where he served for a year before stepping down to Fleet Captain. Ben is one of our premier character builders. As part of the Shipwrites, he’s helped countless members of the fleet improve their builds. He goes out of his way to answer people’s questions on Discord and the forums. Plus, he can drink like a camel! Thank you so much for your expertise, Ben!

@Lars_Zandor was promoted to Fleet Captain in 2017 and promoted to Admiral in 2018. He’s served with distinction for his entire tenure. So far as an Admiral, he’s taken on the project of creating a new armada for the KDF fleet, planning a new House Uniform and hosts weekly KDF events. Thank you, warrior! Qapla’!

@Kierix became a Fleet Captain in 2018 for the Klingon Affairs Department. But even before that he was always an active and beloved member of the community. Since becoming a Fleet Captain, he’s been a staple of the community, always showing up and helping out. Especially with the KDF events that he helps run and host. Thank you so much Kierix!

Finally, I’d like to thank @Halish, my partner in crime for his support and friendship. He has been with Stonewall Fleet from the early days. Before he was promoted to Admiral, he created the Stonewall Fleet logo that we still use today, as well as logos for our other guilds. Halish has served as Admiral of Membership Management in Stonewall Fleet and as an Officer in Stonewall Alliance and Stonewall Vanguard.

This isn’t an exhaustive list. There are lots of people out there that have helped build Stonewall Fleet to what it is today. I’m sure each and every one of you have helped in your own way. To all of you, my sincerest thanks!! And with that, I declare the Tenth Annual Pride Weekend begun!

[PRIDE 10] Stonewall's 10th Annual Pride Weekend - Monsterboard race winners!

July 15 2019

BREAKING NEWS!
The Stonewall News Bureau, an executive tendril of the Stonewall Times, is getting reports of strange sightings of MONSTERS appearing on Risa during the annual Lohlunat Festival!

It looks as if MONSTERS appeared on the beach out of nowhere, teamed up and then did a race against time and each other carrying nothing other than some juice! These MONSTERS demonstrated intelligent, cognitive behaviour after instruction by their imperious binary leaders @GXV3 and @chipz416

They performed an orbital route along the main island resort using islanders' hoverboards and then proceeded to pass the juice containers to their teamed MONSTER partner, which then took them to a location near Sovak's camp, upon which they then raced into the Hotel complex breaching the non-existent security defence perimeter and reaching the computer terminals in the main floor!

What happened next is a mystery and is still subject to investigation but what we can confirm is that these were the following MONSTER placements!

The following teams can get sample bottles of the used juices left behind on submitting a request to Stonewall's Department of Lost Properties:
  • Fourth Place Team - Akrilon & @audiored
  • Fifth Place Team - @Michlo & DeepSky579
  • Sixth Place Team - KnightChucky & thecaley
  • Seventh Place Team - lorddullahan & @sqweloookle

This strange ritual demands further study and we can only hope to have a second sighting to conduct further scientifical and engineery type-analysis to infer what intentions these MONSTERS pose!

In the meantime, we advise all locals and tourists to be vigilant and to report any such MONSTER sightings to your nearest hot local law enforcement officer in/or out of uniform!

This is a bit of a low-resolution mess since I haven't had a chance to grab all the hi-def versions and sort them out, but it's something! :)

And this one from @Hippiepunk wins a special Judge's Award for Best Overall Screenshot, which awards the amazing prize of me thinking it's pretty funny.
