The Blake's 7 fan in me is thrilled to see Paul Darrow as the voice of Tremel. I just figured it was someone who did a good PD impression.

Thanks for starting this thread!

Lacy Chambert is the voice of Mako!

Also, can anyone find out who the voice of Yadira Ban (the last boss in Black Talon) is? It sounds so much like Mila Kunis but it isn't.

Not for certain, Ripleys group never found the other ship or more than a couple of its crew in the derelict. They could have ended up like Ripley, cold sleep and drifting.

It cracks me up that they dare to have the word "research" in the title of their religious hate group.

Re: Very quiet since the guild split

January 30 2012
I think one of the things that we need to keep in mind is that the guilds are still taking shape and growing into a community. It takes time to build a community, even if the guild existed in another game. Community is based on relationships of its members and those relationships take time and work.

When I first joined the game, I joined as a member of Rough Trade/Taint. I switched to Stonewall because after rolling an alt and joining Stonewall, I found that it had more potential for community than Rough Trade/Taint--that is not saying Rough Trade/Taint wasn't a great place to be because it was. There are some great folks in RT/T but the folks in Stonewall won my heart with their friendliness, humor and welcomingness (I think I made up a new word) of this off the wall Lesbian.

I've gotten to know some folks better than others and have found that most folks are just as off the wall as me but it has taken me time to get to know folks and for them to get to know me. When Zepari said the heart of a guild is in its members, he is right. The relationships we form (online, in game, in real life, whatever) make the guilds what we want them to be.

I'm off my soap box now other than to add that I have yet to meet anyone that I didn't like in Stonewall on either faction. I love hanging out with you all and will continue to do so for a very long time.

I have been doing some housekeeping with some of my toons now that I've seemed to settle into my sage and juggernaut. I removed the toons I don't play from the guild (although I did have my smuggler join SoS) to make room for more characters.

I bounce back and forth between Imperial and Republic side as I can't decide if my sage or my juggernaut will be my main. However, I have noticed the Republic side has gotten a little quieter. Although, there are times the Imperial side is pretty quiet as well. It seems to come and go for both sides and I just assume its because people are involved in their in-game activities.

I know I've been doing a ton of PVP so I tend to only chat in between matches as chatting during PVP is not a skill I've mastered yet. I usually end up dead when I try.

Perhaps I just missed a spoiler or article somewhere, but isn't that the unknown ship crashed on LV-246 in the original (and second most awesome sic-fi horror movie of all time) "Alien" movie?

It feels like the film is being based heavily upon H.R. Geiger's artwork from Alien and even some of the elements from the movie alien (Like the scene where the EVA suited actor looks down into the little pot and something shoots up into his face, the look of the infirmary/lab, the turret seat that folds out of the floor in the alien ship, the shape of the alien ship, etc.)

Looks amazing. It almost felt he was remaking alien without remaking alien. :3

On a side note related to crafting, if you kill a strong droid or creature, please loot it. Even if you do not have the appropriate skill to harvest it or scavenge from it, others do and would appreciate the courtesy of you looting the corpse so it is available to harvest/scavenge. (Even if the local harvesters/scavengers are not in your guild).

I'm actually not familiar with the Snipping tool. My fraps also hates SWTOR for some reason. The videos always come out audio with an oddly shaped frozen image. I haven't been able to figure out why.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Use-Snipping-Tool-to-capture-screen-shots

Mine defaults to a rectangular snip. I have the tool fastened to the start menu, so I just hit the windows key and click snip. It freezes the cutscene from where I hit snip and then I just drag the box over the part of the screen I want to capture and when I let go of the mouse button, I can either tell it to abandon the current snip by clicking on "New" to re-snip or click the save button to save my snip as a jpg.

Calling all Star Wars: The Old Republic Crafters!

January 29 2012
  • Do you like to craft?
  • Does helping others appeal to you?
  • Is Reverse Engineering keeping you up at nights?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you're invited to be part of an awesome group of guildies! Those interested will be the founding members of our Stonewall Crafting group within Star Wars: The Old Republic. The requirements are few, but the rewards are great. It is my hope with this group to be a place to discuss techniques and tips as well as be a helpful group to the guild at large. Our first meeting will take place immediately after the guild-wide meeting on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 at 9pm GMT (4pm EST, 3pm CST, 2pm MST, 1pm PST)

Some of the topics we will discuss include:

  • Specific goals of the crafting group
  • Possible collaboration of a Stonewall Crafting Guide
  • Implementation of guild banks
  • Meeting frequency/schedule

I am highly appreciative of everyone's time and intend for us to meet no longer than one hour. For this first meeting, we will be using Ventrillo. The instructions for downloading and setting it up can be found HERE. Ventrillo also has a text based chat room within the program for those that are shy about speaking or otherwise have issues using Vent.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, by all means, please feel free to either post those here or send me a message through the site here. I have it set to go to my email and will respond as soon as I'm able to.

I look forward to meeting and working with you.

As always, May The Force Be With You!

KoS Guild Wide Meeting

January 29 2012
Hi everybody,

I'd just like to announce that the time and date of our first guild wide meeting with be:

Saturday the 4th of February at 12 noon PST, 3pm EST, 8pm GMT.

The meeting should take no more than an hour and will take place on our IRC chat channel to ensure anyone, even those without Ventrilo, can attend.

You can access the IRC chat simply by clicking "Chatroom" in the menu at the top on the page, or if you would like to use your own IRC client you can find our channel details here.

These guild wide meetings are open to all members of the Guild and are for members to ask any questions or make any suggestions they want. We will not be using these meeting to make any inmportant announcements, that is what the forum is for.

I hope to get to speak to a lot of you there, and that we can all get to know each other a bit better. Thank you.

The holocam is nice, but my issue with it is that it forces you into first person view and stays there after taking the SS and restoring the UI.

I believe the snipping tool was an under hyped feature of Vista (which I successfully avoided) I know under 7, you can click on Start and in your Search Programs box, type snipping. It's a quick and light program that allows you to take SS of selected regions.

You don't need to be in full screen windowed mode to take screenshots. I've taken many many SS before going into windowed mode; but now that I /am/ in windowed mode, I can use the windows 7 snipping tool to take screenshots of cutscenes so I can have some pretty, high resolution textures in my SS. ;)

You can also get some nice, dramatic poses from snipping from cutscenes:

Though I suppose you could just use FRAPS to take screenshots during cutscenes. :3 (I've tried hitting printscreen during a cutscene and then just pasting the result into an art program because it won't capture SS from them, but they are all just solid black.)
