Brock's ships are all named for bladed weapons, all beginning with S except the Claymore and the Claymore II. So I named his Ambassador the Sabre. I don't know what I'm doing with other captains yet. They're not all going to get an Ambassador/Kamarag, mostly just my lower-level ones since most of my upper-level already have Oddys.

Hello Stonewall Fleet!

I am running on February 10 at 5pm GMT -7, the next Scavenger Hunt event! This event will be different from the last one, in that I am using the foundry to conduct the mission. Contestants will obtain the foundry mission, and at the designated start time I will reveal the location of the first clue. Players will then have to interact with objects and NPC's within the game to get the next clue until they complete the challenge.

A demonstration of this event is available, simply search "Scavenger Hunt Demo" in the foundry and you can get a taste of what to expect by playing it. I look forward to running the event for you all, see you then!

For my new Ambassadors, I ended up going with the U.S.S. Pioneer for Grayson and the U.S.S. Ranger for Taiyo.

I named my ambassador U.S.S. Chiune Sugihara after a the Japanese Vice Consul to Lithuania he (and his wife) help (spending 18 to 20 hours a day stamping visas) save 6000 Jews from the Nazis in WWII.

Listening to these, it reminded me of the mixes that I'd been working on at 8tracks, but never finished. So today I finished one for a change.

One HUGE caveat about this finding: it applies only to a people in their mid-20s. I wouldn't be surprised if the trend starts to reverse itself with increasing age.

As usual, I'll reserve judgement until I've actually what he does with Star Wars. But, that said, I usually find myself liking what he does. I really enjoyed the '09 Trek film (though I wouldn't necessarily consider it "canon") as well as Cloverfield and his Mission: Impossible films. Three of my favourite TV series (Felicity, Alias and Lost) were also by him, so I'm at least mildly curious to see what he comes up with. :)

Never been a fan of J.J. less after his first Trek. Honestly I dont think he is talented enough to direct any of the franchises, or a regional TV ad for that matter.

A line from Ghost Busters comes to mind:

I'm a little indifferent toward Abrams. There's lots to like about him (he amps up the fun, he has a knack for hiring talented actors and/or is great at directing them), but plenty to dislike (can be gimmicky, story telling is lazy, his 'monsters' and effects always come across as blatant - sometimes even lowsy - CGI and rather generic, etc.).

Ultimately, though, this all boils down to the fact that directing a Star Wars movie and directing two Star Trek films is like crossing the streams, particularly given that they'll be almost back to back to back.

It just shouldn't be done, and now we'll all have to worry about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
