They finally got around to legalising same-sex here (long after the US did, ironically). Basically, anyone that's not a church or a civil entity with a legitimate reason can't refuse to perform same-sex marriage services / ceremonies without risk of fines, breach of contract or discrimination action.
My brother-in-law and his partner were planning to go overseas and get hitched (at some ridiculous expense to them and the guests) and now they can finally do it local.
The only grand objection I have is they have one of those presumptuous gift registry things. Of all the stupid things we have to import from the States (Apple stores, Starbucks, 7-11 etc.) how did we end up with that crap as well? Read Less
