Ylis
Nathanite
Pirate
Parmenides

"Ylis is hard."

This is what the pirates whisper whenever the towering amphibioid enters the room. They clearly skipped out on any study of enemy species. Apparently, they are also ignorant of the incredible bloodthirstiness of Nathanites.

Sometimes they remark on the pirate’s penchant for speaking in questions, assuming he must perpetually be either confused or sarcastic. It never occurs to them that universal-translator technology is not all it's cracked up to be, that Nathanites has been working a full thirty years to master hacking the translators. Only recently did Ylis execute a Terran Empire xenolinguist—a spy—aboard the Parmenides, who had made modest progress in cracking the Nathanite hack code so that the machinations of the amphibioids could be thwarted by even the average Federation citizen.

Other times, they'll notice how Ylis fidgets, scratching at his skimpy, seductive attire. Perhaps if they knew that, on Nathanus V, no one wears clothing, and that the handful of Nathanites raiding the Empire tough out the discomfort, even going shoeless to show off their toughness, then they would fear the pirate even more.

They would cower in fear if they knew Ylis's story. Or the story of the Nathanites, for that matter - the supernova of the star Omicron-37 one million years ago, releasing a stream of antinathon particles into the orbit of Nathanus V four light-years away, a phenomenon which altered the evolution of Nathanties, from docile hominids resembling the extinct axolotls of Earth to a violent space-faring society.

Ylis was ten when he first killed a man, and from then on, he knew his path would be one of death and destruction. He slaughtered two of his three fathers so he could seize their ship and set off on his path. At twelve, he stormed the Planetary Bank of Nathanus and stole two years’ worth of credits. He lived on these funds until age fourteen, and then raided a Terran military academy, seizing their weapons to sell. The powers-that-be at the academy were mortified to have been raided by someone so young, but they tracked Ylis anyway. That is, until Ylis paid a crew of mercenaries from the Nathanus Syndicate to ambush them. The Terran fools were grossly misinformed about how rapidly and viciously Nathanites develop, and that Ylis was exceptionally brutal for his species.

During his adolescent years, Ylis was noted for his ferocity. He chalked up raid after raid; other pirates noted that the tall blue marauder lurking in the back of the room was possessed of an unquenchable thirst for violence. They considered that this brutality, combined with his intense and unpredictable demeanor, made for the perfect interstellar raider. Thus they acquiesced to him that he might bankroll them and have them join his crew.

But Ylis was not comfortable with the idea of merely raiding Orellian sector space whilst plunder lay in other sectors and star systems. So he struck a blow against the Terrans, commandeering one of their stronger ships, the I.S.S. Parmenides, which allowed him to fly deeper into the Alpha Quadrant.

Ylis’s first raids aboard the Parmenides took him to the Delta Volanis cluster. Here, he plundered several species, including the Totarans, the Rimbalans, and the Maedwii. He also instigated a war between the Fegrans and the Zaji and sold weapons to both sides.

But piracy would not be a stable career for long: the Klingons once again rose up against the Terrans in 2408. By this time, Ylis was one of the most notorious pirates in the quadrant, having destroyed the I.S.S. Socrates, a powerful Odyssey-class battleship built for defense. Before destroying the ship, he beamed the remaining survivors of the Socrates, enslaving its crew so that he could better raid the more dangerous sectors of the Alpha and Beta quadrants. Even the famed Admiral Quinn knelt before Ylis and called him “master”, forced to serve aboard his ship and raid the frontlines of the Empire.

All the while, Ylis was deeply disturbed by what he saw as an insufficient loss of life. At times, he even contemplated executing all the Terrans aboard the Parmenides and flying straight back to the Orellius Sector so he could join the Nathanites in their war against the Breen and Deferi. But his lackeys convinced him to continue marauding; they argued that a long, drawn-out war between the Terrans and Klingons yielded easier targets, both for plunder and murder

Now, the Orellius sector lies behind Ylis, and what lies ahead is the plunder of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The Vulcan renegade Tuvok has called Ylis “a barbaric marauder capable of infinite destruction.” Ylis and his crew have earned a reputation that allows them to continue what they love most – to kill, to plunder, and to foster war.

And still, Ylis hears the murmurs when he enters a room. No matter. He’ll hold their heads high on a spear, for he knows how far he has come, and where he’s going.

Name: Jarvis Draconis Stanley
Species: Terran
Date of birth: 10th June 2383 (Standard Terran calendar)
Place of birth: Unknown planet - Badlands
Age: 27 earth years old
Height: 1.82 meters
Weight: 102kg in standard 1G gravity conditions.
Terran armada rank: Squadron Commander
Current posting: I.S.S. Goresaber - Patrol Escort - Prometheus Class.
Previous assignment: Second in command of the 12th assault fleet operating out of Terok Nor in the hunt for the remaining Cardassian resistance forces rumoured to be sheltering former Alliance Regent Worf.
Current assignment: CLASSIFIED
Career distinctions:
  • Youngest ever Terran to ascend to captain rank after killing his captain following a mutiny during his first assigment on his first ship.
  • Was a part of the 8th assault fleet that fought in a battle against Klingon forces near the Kahless Nebula which resulted in the capture of Alliance Captain Elim Garak who was put to death for crimes against the Terran Empire.
  • Served with distinction in the task force assigned to the subjugation of Nukara Prime and the Tholians and with the assault fleet sent to conquer Ferenginar.
  • Led multiple raids into the "alternate universe" to acquire wide varieties of Federation technologies.

Jarvis was born in the badlands, no one - even him - knows exactly where. The badlands proved to be one of the few safe places from the dominant Klingon/Cardassian forces of the time, he saw some of his family including his uncle, sister and mother killed by raids from the Klingon/Cardassian alliance forces in a single day which some claim affected his mental balance.

Jarvis then became eager, even obsessed with repaying the alliance for the hurt they'd caused him, to the point that he killed a fellow applicant at the age of 15 just to guarantee his placement on a warship.

3 weeks after the funeral of his mother and sister he accepted his first official warship posting on the I.S.S. Potempkin (an old Miranda class destroyer) as a security enforcer. The Potempkin moved from operating in the badlands to Terok Nor immediately after it was seized from alliance forces.

On the Potempkins first patrol along the edge of Cardassian territory several of the senior officers attempted to mutiny to take command of the ship, Jarvis helped to defend the Captain (James Kurland) who elevated him to first officer when the mutiny was defeated, only for Jarvis to kill Kurland later in the day for reasons unknown. After this incident Jarvis was controversially awarded the permanent command of the the Potempkin.

The Potempkin was later re-assigned to the 8th assault fleet and fought in the battle at the Kahless Nebula, where the potempkin destroyed four klingon vessels and crippled the primary target ship which contained the fugitive Elim Garak.

The Potempkin took extreme damage in the battle and had to be towed back to the nearest base. Rather than wait for 8 weeks for the repairs Terran commanders offered Jarvis the Command of a new combat vessel that had just come out of the shipyard which he accepted - on the condition he could name it.

The ship was named by Jarvis as the I.S.S. Goresaber which was officially commissioned 1 week later when both it and Jarvis embarked upon their first mission on his 22nd birthday, the Goresaber served in multiple sectors and participated in several assaults into Tholian, Cardassian and even Romulan space.

4 years later Terran central command detached the Goresaber from the 8th fleet and assigned it to a task force to steal technologies from the federation "prime" universe, this culminated in several incursions by Terran forces against Reman bases which were distraction tactics while the Goresaber raided lightly guarded Federation bases to acquire technology for the Terran armada.

After several successful raids the Goresaber moved back to Terok Nor where Jarvis was promoted to the rank of Squadron Commander. He was tasked with serving in the 12th assault fleet as second in command to Admiral Shon who is tasked with suppressing the remnants of the Cardassian forces left over from the Alliance.

As the calendar year 2410 dawns much of the remaining Cardassian resistance has been stamped out. The Goresaber is again being reassigned, this time to a top secret project devised by the very highest levels of Terran command.

No one knows for sure what the project entails but Jarvis is making preparations to confront the Federation once again.....

On a personal level, Jarvis life has proved to be just as eventful as his professional one, including 2 marriages (both ended in divorce with no children) and rumours of a relationship with a trill who serves aboard his ship as a junior armory officer. There was also a past relationship with an unnamed Terran admiral who may have had a hand in Jarvis keeping his command after bypassing almost all of the lower end of the chain of command in his early career.

[EVENT] MIRROR BIOs (Part Of Reflection Day)

August 30 2015
Name: Niko Lunatra

Rank: Captain

Current Command: I.S.S. Cohen

Species: Tri’nel: A species with telepathic abilities and longer than human life spans. The Tri’nel are divided heavily into a cast system with their warrior cast currently controlling their society. Only contact with this species is from a handful of colony worlds they conquered in the former Caitian star territories.

Biography: Captain Lunatra began life in a manner that was by most definitions rough. Having been born an outcast to her people with a body that, was not strictly female or male. Given over to her colonies pleasure districts, forced into task of labor considered degrading even for slaves or prisoners. Lunatra became self-educated, stealing data pads that clients would forget in rooms or be careless enough to leave lying about. Over the formative years of her life she struggled with her identity at times till an incident pushed her along a path that would dominate her life.
A drunken scientist working on a design for radiological weapons found himself sub coming to the effects of heavy drink leaving his possessions and research unguarded. While rifling through his work Lunatra found samples of the radiological weapon and took them after fiddling with one to a point it opened, releasing its contents upon the drunkard. In the following days Lunatra watched as this man she was later forced to remove from the building withered away in a matter of days under the effect of his own work. Taking his research and other samples to the hole underground that was her hidden dwelling, she studied.
In time Lunatra would disappear completely from her people, stealing supplies as needed, ever working to push her knowledge forward. She eventually deemed that a practical test of her research was needed, leading to the release of a radiological weapon upon the area that had once been her tortured home. Her weapon worked far better than anticipated, the agonizing wails of thousands sung to her below ground as their bodies fell apart from her radiation. The effect of the weapon proved greater than what was first theorized spreading to the surrounding district. In a span of days half of her cities population had fallen to her weapon. Death was at her fingertips and its power lashed her into greater fits of research.
Lunatra focused her research in further weaponing her radiation, first to come from this string of research where hand held weapons that would deliver focused bolts or beams of ionized radiation. Testing them on the small vermin that scuttled about the underworking’s of her colony. From time to time over the next year a lone solder or stray from the upper world would become a target for her weapons helping to hone their effect. Supplies where dwindling fast for Lunatra forcing her to relocate to populated regions again, moving closer to areas where her skills of swiftly acquiring what she needed would prove more beneficial. Her master work soon completed, leaving herself the only shielding from her own weapon.
Ships of the Imperial Star Fleet would later pick up haunting distress calls from the colony world. When one finally investigated nothing was found other than a single woman sitting in a ruined café drinking with herself. Beside her cases of research and samples of her weapons, she hid nothing of what she had done from the humans. In the following years after her colony world was left lifeless in her wake, Lunatra would join the imperial fleet dedicating herself to them for the opportunities of research they provided her with. Ruthless and detached from the value of others’ lives Lunatra only cares about her research and the effect her weapons will have.

CAPTAIN VOLERON BIOGRAPHY
MIRROR UNIVERSE VERSION
(Prime Universe Biography Link)

Tears of agony swelled in the canthus of Voleron's left eye as he lay naked and semirecumbent on the lounger in his cabin, biting down with all of his might on the dark leather calf-strap that he gripped powerfully with his jaw. His face blistered red as he tried vainly to measure his rapid breaths, in spite of the excruciating pain swelling in his abdomen.

Voleron had been a shrewd officer throughout his service, utilizing his cunning not only to advance in rank, but to also cleverly spare himself from the agony booth and the many other forms of inquisition-style torment that the Empire practiced on it's officers and crew. He now thought to himself that having escaped these punishments, had unfortunately left him woefully unprepared for the barbaric self mutilation he was now to perform.

Suddenly, Voleron's left molar buckled under the accumulating pressure of his grinding teeth, sending the jagged edges of the fractured bone into his gums. The iron taste of blood filled his mouth as he gasped for air, though he dared not release the excruciating scream that he so desired to bellow, the escape of which would surely alert his personal guard of something untoward taking place.

For five years, the Emperor had taken a personal interest in Voleron's growing list of achievements within the rebuilt Terran Empire, concerning himself specifically with the increasing admiration and influence that Voleron enjoyed among the rank and file members of the Empire. The Emperor's concerns had culminated in today's dreaded ceremony before the crew, in which Voleron was to be honored for his commitment to the glory of the Empire. The Emperor's "gift" to him had been none other than the Odan symbiont, the involuntary joining with which, Voleron had been forced to accept with feigned reverence.

The Odan symbiont had, for three generations been joined with Trill who had been fiercely loyal to the Emperor. They say that the joining changes the host, and Voleron recognized this "gift" that so many Trill desired, as the insidious control mechanism that it was really intended to be, all but guaranteeing the Emperor another intensely loyal subject who was well placed and exalted by the troops. The successful joining would mean a great deal of power and security for the Emperor, a reality that ran contrary to Voleron's furtive goal of assassinating him in a murderous fury.

It had been just over an hour since the surgeons had inserted the symbiont into Voleron's body. He could already feel himself losing control over his own distinct personality, which was being assaulted by the combined will of the trinity of previous hosts. Voleron knew that once the symbiont had been fully integrated into his own anatomy, separating the creature from his body would be fatal. It would only be a matter of hours now, until the merging was complete. Voleron, knowing what he must do, re-committed himself to the excruciating process and plunged the scalpel held by his trembling hand, deeper into his abdominal cavity. The torrent of escaping blood filled Voleron's hands, but coagulated quickly, leaving a sticky residue that impeded his agility with the blade. However, having repeatedly studied and practiced the procedure in the months preceding this critical moment, Voleron skilfully excavated the creature from his peritoneal cavity, throwing the treacherous parasite on the floor in front of him. A barrage of pain shot in consecutive surges through Voleron's nervous system, while he struggled to expeditiously apply a large autosuture to his exposed midsection. Voleron collapsed to the floor on his hands and knees, his chiseled, naked body convulsing in tormenting pain, while blood dripped slowly from his gaping mouth. Managing barely to reach for his nearby phase pistol, Voleron took aim at the symbiont with the weapon and pulled the trigger, incinerating the wretched barnacle where it lay and causing the release of high pitched shrieks as it burned.

Exhausted from the struggle, Voleron lay chest down on the floor of his cabin, with his phaser still in hand. As he contended with the agony of what he'd just endured, his thoughts turned to those of vengeance for his lover, murdered at the iron hand of the Emperor. Like a snake in the grass, Voleron knew that he need now only wait patiently for the perfect opportunity to strike his unsuspecting adversary. Although Voleron didn't specifically seek power, he predicted that as a consequence of his plan, control of the entire Empire might soon be thrust upon him... unless his plan were to fail. Failure was not an option. His life and the lives of his crew would soon hang in the balance. But until then, the ship's mission had to go on as planned, so as not to arouse suspicion. Voleron tapped the nearby intercom panel: "Voleron to bridge" he spat... "set a course for the Tekara system and engage at warp 5" he barely managed before terminating the channel and once again collapsing helplessly on the floor.

Existence in this universe rested solely on a person's daily ability to stay one step ahead of their adversary, and today, he'd earned his entitlement to another day of survival, Voleron reasoned, before finally fading out of consciousness on the frigid deck plating.

Joseph Leyland

[EVENT] MIRROR BIOs (Part Of Reflection Day)

September 01 2015
Name: Joseph Leyland
Rank: Fleet Admiral
Age: 36

Admiral Leyland joined the Terran empire in 2388 at the age of 15 following in his fathers footsteps who himself was instrumental during the uprising against the Alliance in 2370. Unfortunately Joseph's father didn't live long enough to see the victory of the Empire over the Alliance, something which Joseph wanted the Alliance to pay dearly for.

Less than a year later however during a battle with the Borg Joseph was unfortunately captured and assimilated. Luckily though during an incursion in sector 0042 a task force of Terran ships were able to disable the sphere that he was assigned to and liberated any Empire species before destroying the Sphere.

In 2390 he joined the crew of the ISS Bozeman, an aged Miranda class ship. Annoyed at having to take orders from those he felt tactically inferior he soon began to plot the downfall of the ships Captain. Knowing that he would need the backing of the crew if he wanted to take command, Joseph found the perfect opportunity for promotion when 3 crew members were killed during an away mission to Bomari 4. Knowing that the crew would be angered by the apparent incompetence of the captain, Joseph took this as the perfect opportunity to challenge for command and killed the captain on the spot.

He went on to command the Bozeman for 12 successful years winning glorious victories on over 50 occasions oppressing those that would dare stand against the Empire. It was during his command of the Bozeman that Joseph was gifted with the shotgun used by Zefram Cochrane during the failed Vulcan invasion of 5th April 2063. Joseph used this shotgun in the famed battle of the Briar Patch in which he liberated a valuable dilithium mining asteroid from the Orion Syndicate.

In 2401 during an ambush on the Tholians in the Azure Nebula Admiral Leyland stumbled upon an artifact of unknown origin. It was a starship seemingly of Terran design yet not one that any of the crew recognised. Once every Tholian was dead and every Tholian ship burned in the vacuum of space the ISS Bozeman tractored the starship to Starbase 142 for examination. Admiral Leyland had his own plans however and earmarked the new ship as his own.

It took a year for the best engineers of the Empire to repair the ship following the Tholians ripping out most of its technology. They did manage to save some technology however including the ships chroniton infused arrays, temporal disruption torpedoes, Manheim device and Tipler Cylinder. The engineers also managed to craft an antichroniton infused beam array, temporal detanglement suite and a new phased warpcore using schematics found in the ships heavily fragmented database.

Using his knowledge from his time in the collective Admiral Leyland managed to outfit the ship, now christened ISS Melody Pond, with deflectors, impulse engines, shields and weapons nodes inspired by the collective.

He has now been in command of the Melody Pond for 8 years using her Borg and Temporal technologies to crush the other species of the Milky Way into submission, being one of the first Terran Ships to investigate the Delta Quadrant and an instrumental part of the battle with the Iconians. Nobody has dared test the leadership of the Admiral who expects to maintain command of the Melody Pond for a long time to come.

September 05 2015
Name: Aikune
Alias: The Borg Tsar
Department: Section 31
Post: Director
Mission: Management and operations of Section 31
Vessel: Various
Species: Betazed-Human
Age: 30

In public the Director of Section 31 was only interested in the security and prosperity of the new Terran Empire. He publicly announced the hunt and executions of dissidents and those who would even breathe a measure of revolt against the Empire. In reality he was probably the Empire’s biggest threat.

He’s a Betazed, but even by Betazed standard his psychic abilities was intensely powerful. He was taken from his parent at a young age was tested and forced to develop his abilities to dangerous levels. He killed and drove insane his first 4 handlers before his fifth, a Vulcan slave named Tosak, used his own mental prowess to somewhat temper Aikune’s abilities.

At the age of 15 a group of armed rebels stormed the facility Aikune was kept in and attempted to use him as a weapon against the empire. They used several empaths enhanced with implants stolen from the Borg to enhance their abilities. For a time they were able to control Aikune only because he let them. He used the forced connection to float though their subconscious and even going so far as finding a hidden Borg ship deep in the Empire’s Teritory.

Realizing this threat, Aikune assumed control not only of himself but most of the rebel empaths as well. Among them a Romulan named Sondheim and an Orion named Elphaba. And in an instant the rebellion was put down. Aikune was hailed as a hero of the Empire and was given a ship to better serve the emperor.

He took his fleet to hunt down the Borg Cube that he discovered while his consciousness was detached from his body. The cube was indeed on route to Earth for an unknown reason and Aikune didn’t intend to wait to find out. But he also saw an opportunity for the Empire and an even greater one for him. He used the Borg implant and connected his consciousness to the Borg cube he activated the tertiary adjunct of the cube Eight of Ten and began taking command of the Cube.

Once Aikune had complete control of the cube he began showing a greater interest in Eight of Ten. He had always admired and perhaps even aroused by the Borg. He began experimenting on Eight of Ten and learned the entirety of what the Empire knows of the Borg and even more that he kept for himself. He took what he felt the Empire Should know and gave it to them and used the rest to hunt down and acquire various ships from a multitude of species. He outfit them with stolen Borg technology and was known by the enemies of the Empire as the Borg Tsar, as the crew of his ships were either Borg or partially assimilated, and he would be safe with in his enclave on Earth.

Through his victories earned him tremendous political capital that he used to gain him the position of Section 31. He argues that his fleet would help him maintain the security of the empire because they would allow his ability to reach though all corners of the empire.

Several years into his rule over Section 31 he came across an anomaly. A temporal destroyer on route from 2020 to 2409 encounter a temporal fissure and the reaction with its damaged chroniton regulator created a copy of the ship and its crew, the original was able to return to its destination, however the copy was sent to Aikune’s universe. To Aikune’s surprise the captain of the temporal destroyer was himself. Aikune converged all his ships to the temporal destroyer’s location and quickly overwhelmed and disabled the ship. He assimilated the crew but left the captain, himself alive.

Aikune interrogated his doppelganger and quickly learned that on an even level both of them was equally matched telepathically but thanks to Borg technology he was able to subdue and command his double. He kept the event and everything he gained a secret even from the empire, the crew that had some severance of free will was threatened with days in the agony chamber if they told the secret.

He took command of the ship and discovered in it’s ready room an unlit torched. Inscribed on it was “The Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020”. He replicated it and displayed it lit as a trophy. He kept the ship slightly out of temporal phase so any ship passing by would think they just detected an interesting but fleeting anomaly before they were ambushed. Aikune realizing the potential and power began to plan and he began to design the overthrow of the emperor and crown himself Tsar.

Name: Janice Rand
Species: Human/Borg Hybrid
Alias: Primum of Borg
Department: Temporal Operations
Post: Director
Mission: Assimilation Measures for Temporal Assignments
Vessel: I.S.S. Blackskull
Age: 42

***Incoming Priority One Message***

Janice Rand at the age of 10 was removed from her parents, but not by force, but of will. Her parents were working as an adjunct agency in Temporal Mechanics, they couldn't allow their daughter to disturb their work. As good parents, they handed her over to the Terran Forces at an early age in the hopes she would learn discipline and become a decent solider like they were. What they didn't realize how much the labour and the long hours were great for Janice. Each morning at 4:30 she donned a exercise jogger and ran for 2 hours, at 6:30 she ate, showered and returned to school, where they taught the lessons of the conquering of the Vulcans the quelling of the Andorians and history of the beautiful Empire she knew. After studies the would run drills by, running through mazes where the walls moved, jumping over pits of spikes and climbing over piles of scorching sand. As far as she knew this was he life all children had growing up. She quickly excelled in her studies and left most of the lesser students to look up to her.
At age 18 she caught the eye of her instructors who felt Rand was needed for the greater good. Around the same time her parents who dutifully broke the temporal barrier, needed a research assistant to send through time. Janice was up for the challenge, and was quietly removed from her school and placed in the Temporal Operations division, where she oversaw and implemented the first successful human tested time travel experiment. After a year of time manipulation experiments she experienced a build up of chronitons in her system. With the recent enslavement of the Borg and the assimilation of their technology, the Empire had learned of a cure using nanites to purge her system. Rand was wary of the experiment though ultimately agreed to the process. She became the first successful Terran to undergo a nanite treatment, which resulted in some unexpected side effects.
Due to her years of military training, chroniton exposure and borg nannies she learned to silence the other drones of whom she was now connected to and rule over them with an iron fist.
She eventually became a key military asset as the assimilator of past and present technology where she endeavors to points in time and acquires needed assets.
She is strong willed, fierce and cut throat, but believes in a conquer hard/play hard mentality.

A miner my trade, Rinoss worked her way up through the mining consortium until she could afford to purchase her own ship "Swamp Thing" and in her own words "get out there and pick some noses".
Since then she has left a trail of derelict and destroyed ships. Many of them were academy trained, many of them died. After a while they gave up and left her alone. All their training could not match her natural talent for digging out those nose nuggets. (She has a nose fetish). In fact there are rumors that she has a collection of noses that she keeps in her quarters because "only the nose knows" She even went so far as to pen a short article regarding her appreciation for the nasal protuberance.

Ode to Nose

She has been known to personally beam aboard the bridge of her enemies to collect noses in person. So be wary, be wise and do not let the nose fall off of your face. Warning, she possesses a weapon that shoots liquefied nose goo.

"Swamp Thing"

"Rinoss"

I have pictures to share but as you can see its frustratingly hard to add pictures to your posts. AT least from my point of view having worked on it for an hour :)

Legatus Senator D'Tox Orloran, Dux Corvinus, was born and raised in the volatile and internecine world of politics and intrigue that comes from being a scion of a prominent Romulan political dynasty. As the son of two prominent senators1 and a Praetorian prefect2, brother to a war legend3, cousin to the Emperor4, it was his destiny to bring honor and glory to family, Empire and the Romulan People5, and is not remotely interested in doing anything to achieve it.

Despite his lack of enthusiasm for his destiny, Orloran, known by his middle name to avoid confusion with his paternal uncle6, performed adequately in several fields of endeavor (exploration, science, diplomacy), though he rarely applied himself sufficiently to excel in any particular area, and it is suspected he occasionally underperformed to avoid further advancement7. While admittedly disappointed (mildly), the Duchess, ever pragmatic, was satisfied to have a family member who possessed competence but not ambition. The typical weighting, in her experience, is reversed8.

Captaining the A.R.W. Vanessa Ives, with an eclectic crew of Romulan specialists, mostly reformed Borg9 and his ‘special friend’ Tovan, is frequently put to special or peculiar missions.

If a crisis is of a highly sensitive security nature (the Duchess trusts the Tal Shiar as far as she can stuff a Gorn up a gutter pipe10), Orloran and his crew are dispatched. If the circumstances are very peculiar, or the Duchess simply feels the introduction of randomness would be beneficial (or she wants to tick someone off) the Ives is sent in at full warp11.

Such a situation arose (of the ‘peculiar’ variety) in what turned out to be a Xindi temporal incursion. Ttime-shifted Xindi ships engaged a Human12 detail in a protracted space battle in the Narendra system, which had nothing to do with Romulus. Naturally Orloran inserted himself into the battle, though his official report claims he was merely in the area doing reconnaissance and both groups showed up weapons blazing. The battle was a relatively even match until an unknown weapon was used by the Xindi. It allowed them victory over the Terrans, though it left them vulnerable for a cloaked attack by the Ives.

The details of that engagement are, given the subsequent events, inconsequential. The weapon apparently caused a tear in space/time sufficient to translate the Vanessa Ives and her crew to a ‘mirror universe.’ Noteworthy events of this nature have been recorded previously, though rare enough not to included in standard Fleet training13.

Orloran returned to Romulus to discover a volatile and internecine world of politics and intrigue and so no one realized what had happened for several weeks. Attempts were made to reverse the substitution, but a conversation with his counterpart (via some highly suspect Tholian technology14) established that notwithstanding the vast differences in history, the state of the Terran Empire and other metamorphoses, it would take some effort to exchange them back.

Anyway, then Hobus blew up and it didn’t seem that important.

Orloran and the crew of the A.R.W. Vanessa Ives continue in service to Romulus15 in much the same fashion as before. He still aspires to not much more than the title Agent of Chaos.

1 The formidable Senators Pontifex K'hæth and Countess Arachne Corvinus.
2 The even more formidable Duchess Vespasiana Corvinus, the Witch of Sarita.
3 Vulnavia Iconica Maxima, Hero of Iconia. And a pest.
4 They weren’t close.
5 In that order.
6 The Quaestor D’Tox, whose accomplishments and temperament could not be more different.
7 Crashing Scimitars into expensive space stations is but one example.
8 And dangerous, and tiresome.
9 Mostly.
10 Which is farther than you’d imagine. Don’t ask.
11 Were there an ‘Agent of Chaos’ title, Orloran would wear it proudly.
12 Which includes whatever other creatures the Humans have integrated.
13 A lacunae now filled.
14 Highly. “We insist it is the property of the Tal Shiar.” – The Tal Shiar. “The Tal Shiar can bite me” – The Duchess.
15 New Romulus, if you insist.

Name: Cai Jamm'n
Species: Adopted Trill
Alias: Douche-bag of Empok Nor
Department: Zek's Failed Emporium
Post: Bartender
Mission: Stay'n fly
Age: 19

-----------------------------------------------

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a station called Empok Nor

In West Mirror Philadelphia born and raised
On the Parrises court was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some spring-ball outside of the school

When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your uncle Garak in Empok Nor’

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suit case and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my K-Opera on and said, 'I might as well kick it’.

Yellowstone, yo this is bad
Drinking Yamok Juice out of a champagne glass.
Is this what the people of Empok living like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this cool trill?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Empok Nor

Well, the shuttle docked and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested yet
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared

I whistled for a beer and when he came near
The tender said whut and it had fur in the ears
If anything I could say that this ferengi was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, home to empok nor’

I pulled up to the station about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the pilot 'Yo home smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Empok Nor

A big Thank You to all who submitted your Mirror Bios to this small contest.
We had a rather hard time deciding who should receive the 1st and 2nd prize, names kept changing we had to re-read etc etc.
All of the entrys were great, and really gave your character some depth and a great back story.

We were amuzed by some of them, Cais Fresh Prince of Bel air approach .. and Raynes prostitute ring.

We were captivated with the Drama of Whiteonmyoj, SiranNataan's & wintercrows bios, they were an amazing read and contained a fantastic imagination of darkness.

I loved the polar opposites to the submitters who also had a biography in the normal bio posts, that was fun to read each.

You are all winners for giving us great fiction and sharing your imagination with the fleet. and again, I thank you for that.

But in the end we had to choose what we personally enjoyed...

and here are the results...
-------------------------------------

2nd place awarded to - @knightchucky
Really liked how knightchucky wrote how he obtained his ship, that back story of how he managed to captain it.. brought that over into his toon on the day of the Reflection Event, as he flew that same ship. So with his bio, and his in game ship set up.. his toon was fully emerged in the mirror universe.

1st place Mirror Bio Winner - @Akrilon
A truly knock out submission, well written and completely intoxicating to read, his take on a Trill symbiont being forced upon him in a sort of mind altering way by the Emperor ... well.. please go read it if you havent yet. Truly amazing, and I personally wanted more!!!!

Congrats to you all, for giving us great reads!

------------------------------------

Hopefully you all wont end here, as this part of the forums THE HOLODECK is a place where you can submit your stories, adventures, your normal Bios, your imagniation can be shared here, for others like me to enjoy and be inspired by.
PLEASE keep sharing, and know that others will get enjoyment from it.

I'll reopen this thread for continuation (without being a contest) and encourage others to still post their mirror bios for all to see!
