is it a book...or an online manual? i think i have the Simon and Schuster online technical manual somewhere in a box but i'm sure it won't run on a modern computer or OS. these are neat though...have a lot of nerd reading in them. for $99 though, i'm not sure i'm a buyer out of the gate without some kind of guaranteed updates, exclusivity, etc. just seems like it's a money grab at that price.

I imagine that packaging it as a premium collectable is how they justify putting through this edition, seeing as how Memory Alpha has essentially put the Okudas out of business for sheer information.

It's clear to me this is for the diehards with money. Myself, I sometimes spend hours reading through Memory-Alpha--for free.

I'm a Die-Hard & an Old Fogie! I'm sure I'll get it on sale at Amazon at some point.

I prefer the tactile experience of reading a hardcover book. :blink:

Maybe I'm thinking like a teacher. I try to find as many texts as possible for my students that are free online so that they're not spending as much. Textbook prices are obscene.
