Title: "All of Jack's Toys" Author: @gammadelta1 Faction: Federation Level Requirement:41+ Author Notes: A lost ship. But is it the ship you must find or the reason it went missing in the first place.
I initially designed this mission as a dedication to Halloween, but it seems to have taken on a mind of its own. Although this mission is stand alone, there is more to the story.
I've never made a video before so you'll have to excuse it's issues.
J U D G I N G · E X T E N S I O N ! Update on Judging Timeline
Good morning Stonewallers and contestants! As you've all likely keenly observed, we've yet to post the results of our Character Biography contest, and will require a short extension to complete our judging, until no later than Sunday, November 16th, 2014, when we guarantee we'll have posted the results.
With so many quality entries and with our two-day Halloween Event just having wrapped up, we're needing some extra time to give all the entries the time to read and review that they deserve. We want to ensure that we approach each entry with a fresh mind, and that we don't experience reader fatigue by trying to blast through them all in one or two sittings.
We look forward to posting the results by next Sunday, and thank all of the competitors for their amazing entries and continued patience! Should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me either in-game, or through the website!
My laptop (MBP) doesn't do too bad with the game in OSX, but I have not played too much DR on it. I have never gotten the game to play well on my Mac desktop in Mac OSX (2010 MacPro), so I use bootcamp for it. Yes there is a reboot involved, but it's a lot less frustrating. I have a small Win partition on the main drive and use a second drive for Win gaming which has worked well for gaming in general.
That said, I have noticed this last patch is slightly more unstable than normal overall.
What are the issues exactly it may be other people have had them. Also have yoi checked the DTO forums to see if other people have reported the same problems as you and if there is a fix?
Are any other Mac users having massive issues using the new Delta STO? Are loads of people not able to do anything since the updates? Like I can't even get through the Nelix mission. I am trying to not get pissed off. I spent good money to get a great ship and gear and now I don't have real access to it.
To answer your questions: No my Mac is not old, yes it is updated and the current OSX. I didn't buy my Mac with gaming in mind but it is a top of the line computer and everything ran fine with super graphics settings before. And now I can't even do my dailies. :-/ grrrrrr lol
Thank you for letting me vent - is anyone else not able to play!?!?
Since I am slightly limited with what the Foundry will allow me, I have an idea. I would like a vote to be held on whether the story will go in the direction of siding against them, or joining them. I think the first direction with five votes will sway which direction it will go in and I will revise the ending to reflext it.
If anyone's given it a run, please say if you sided with or against the consortium. Perhaps we can do that with sequels too, if anyone is interested.
I played through the mission today, and I enjoyed it! Feels like a bit of a cliff-hanger and I was craving more of the story when it ended. What made it interesting, was the deeper relationship options that you can pursue through the chat dialogue. I was hoping for an opportunity to see how the relationship that I chose to pursue, developed but the story ended right when I wanted more :D
Given that the mission isn't too long right now, you always have the option of adding more of the story onto the end of the mission, rather than making a sequel, if that's what you had planned. Could work well either way, I suppose!
The story flow, spelling and grammar was good throughout the mission. I noticed a few small technical oversights that could use a clean-up:
During the initial fight, there are many unnamed Federation ships, some of which are named as 'Science Ship 2' and 'Cruiser 3', for example. I'm not suggesting that you need to necessarily rename them all, but taking the numbers off the end of the mobs would give the mission a cleaner look.
When moving to the next map in many instances, the button reads as "Go to next map". Perhaps consider changing the button text to things like: "Enter the facility", for example, to give it a cleaner, less default text feel
When beaming up from the surface and speaking with Captain Varsune, the rank and name of the player have no space between them, and they're combined as a single word
As for why the mission isn't awarding rewards, I'm not entirely sure. It feels as though there's enough map transitions and combat to justify the normal foundry rewards. From what I understand, the system has an algorithm that calculates what it believes to be the play-time of every mission, and only awards rewards to those that have 20 minutes+ of play time. It was at least that long for me, since I was running the mission on elite difficulty, but maybe an extra map transition and something to do on that map might put it over the edge. You may need to play around with it a bit.
36 minutes... omg... erm, I mean: there´s an easy explanation for that: we enjoyed this place so much (scary, halloween-feeling and all that, you know?) that we just didn´t want to leave! xD
Thanks again for organizing and hosting this event! I´m looking forward to next halloween!
Andrea :)

Ooooo...What fun! Maybe I should participate in fleet events more often. :-P
I have decided to start working on this foundry project again, and I think it is mostly done. I would just like some others to give it a scour and honestly tell me if they like it, love it, or feel I should be publicly humiliated for it.
Also, if there are any more experienced foundry people, what could I do to get it to qualify for rewards - I understand thanks to RainbowWarGames that I may need to make it longer. Does this have to do with how long it actually takes, the number of maps, etc.? If it's length, I want to add more combat - It's already pretty sparse and avoidable since its in the middle of a battle.
Also,
At the end you can choose to join the Consortium, or destroy a majority of their leadership. Due to my understanding of the Foundry at the time, I was unable to make it so that the mission ends after you destroy them if you choose (It will end before). Can this be done through some mysticism or trickery?
Any advice would be welcome!
And a big thanks to Mr Frozenlilly and Rainbowwargames for giving it a run and their feedback so far.

Nick if you like blue go biomatter phasers the tetryon proc is really not worth it at all and biomatter phasers are pretty nice and still fairly cheap.
As for modifiers as a rule of thumb [acc]x2 is what people want unless you have lots of traits and abilities that increase your accuracy, remember you only do damage when you hit something.
I agree with the fact of using one energy type on a ship to minimize weapon drain and i stand by that rule, but if you like a certain type of energy whether it be tetryon, polaron or even if its tribble, use what you like and make adjustments if needed.
But personally i had wondered about the pierecing tetryon as well but never tested it. I would like to hear if it worth it due to its procs as well.
I hear that too, so I'm going for Acc or CtH nowadays rather than CtD or Dmg
I love the sounds of those phasers though (both ground and space!) pew pew!
I use tets on my klinky orion, after reading this i think it's time he got something greener...
looking at your table, time to move to either of the phased tets (preferred) or the refracting tets.
There's also Piercing Tetryon which I left off the table cause it doesn't come in a Beam Array, but it's secondary proc is a 2.5% chance to ignore 50% of an an enemies shields which sounds pretty nice to me.
