Yeah, I'm like you Jamie.. I like having my active ship roster clear of any ships that I'm not flying: one ship and one shuttle only. Luckily, you don't have to have any of these ships sitting in your dry dock. So long as you've bought or earned the ship at some point,, you'll still be able to send it on assignments, even if you've dismissed it and it's not in your roster :)

Seems like a nice system. Too bad for me I am an old fashion gal. I'm a one ship one captain space explorer.

Quick update from me after playing my new, modified science vessel

I've noticed that although I have some new space wizardry the long cooldown on most of the abilities means that I feel that I am useful and powerful but in a bit of a spiky, intermittent way.

When I am focusing my build on weapon power and weapon dps, even when my tactical abilities are on cooldown I am still contributing some hefty dps.

Is this normal? Any tips on my flying style / suggestions / slaps with a wet fish to quit my whining are very gratefully received. To be fair I am judging my performance in PUG-based ISA. That might have something to do with it.

With 3 to 8 assignment slots we won't need to purchase every ship in the game to be able to participate.

Although they could give us a T1 Miranda, T'liss, or B'rel card to start. They know that we had those ships.

Thanks for the quick version! As for the old ships dismissed and not getting a card, the reason for this is that they were not tracking what you purchased and discarded, so while unfortunate it was not some money-hungry attempt at you shelling out dilithium for your old ships. My guess is that with the assignments you'll see, plenty of the ships you have now will work just fine.

Cryptic has come out with more information about the Admiralty system set to launch with Season 11 (October some time). More information can be found on this Reddit thread where one of the devs participated.

Here's the short version:

-The admiralty system is like doffing but with ships.

-You get an admiralty ship card (like a doff) for each ship you own. You do not lose that card even if you dismiss the corresponding ship.

-You can only have one card of a kind, so you can't dismiss and then reclaim a ship a bunch of times to get a bunch of cards.

-But fleet, retrofit, refit, and mirror versions of ships are counted separately. So you can have cards for the Patrol Escort, Patrol Escort Refit, Fleet Patrol Escort Refit, and Mirror Patrol Escort at the same time. (I can't find anything about t5 vs. t5u counting as separate.) [Edit: Actually, Bort says no, they don't count separately, right in that Reddit thread I linked.]

-Also, ship packs with 3 similar ships (like the pilot ships) count separately. But you will need to claim each ship to get a card, just like you'll need to claim each event ship to get a card for that toon.

-If you have dismissed a ship before the admiralty system launches, you will not get a card for it. So don't dismiss any more ships that you can't reclaim, at least for the next month!

-Small craft will not be part of this system at launch, but Borticus says there are plans. Take that with a grain of salt.

-There will be two assignment chains (campaigns) at launch, one KDF and one Fed (although everyone can do both). There will be a unique card for completing them.

-You have an unlimited number of slots for cards (unlike the DOFF system) and 3 assignment slots that can be expanded to 8 by completing assignments.

-Rewards for admiralty assignments are more generous with specialization XP than DOFF assignments, at least in the screenshots that have been released.

So those of us who dismissed the ships we got while leveling can all grumble, but we're going to have to pay dilithium to get them back. It costs 6800 dil for a t1 ship (Miranda class for feds), 12,750 for t2, 34,000 for t3, 68,000 for t4, and 102,000 for t5.

I also remember that we all have access to a T3 ship from the Temporal Ambassador episode, and we can get it back with replay according to STO wiki. [Edit: Just went back and did it on my mains and I got the ship for all of them. It sits in a box that I won't even open until the Admiralty system launches. Also, why did they age Tasha Yar like they did Sela?]

Now I'm glad I finished the grind for the Risian Luxury Cruiser this summer even though I haven't flown it once.

Carrier and it is viable. My original klingon was a sci flying the Vo'Quv and I used all turrets. I did pretty damn good actually in pve and STF's when those finally came along, even on harder settings. Because that b***h took 4 star systems to turn, torpedos are not a good option.

Also, I would suggest considering plasma. You damage is not going to be optimal with a turret build in and of itself, so scatter plasma proccing multiple dot's would be a good strategy.

I got the kitty carrier during the ship sale for my sci captain so I have not experimented with sets yet. But from past experience, I think you can totally rock it.

Currently at this very moment of time, GOG.com is doing an old favorite game of mine from when i was young (when i was like 9-12 years old) to be able to download for free.

I had been wondering about this for a while... but ive had to rethink about coming to Las vegas next year as I had hoped to cough up the money between now and march but my job is a casual job which means it could have the potential possibility of me having few hours or none at any given time plus there at least about 2 months of where i wouldnt get paid from them as its holidays and all.
