Thread-jack sounds like Red Jack, which reminds me of "Wolf in the Fold," so it all comes back around to our common love of Star Trek. :)

My partner and I drove to Utah when the DW cast was out filming there last November, and while we didn't get autographs, we did get to see some of the filming and enjoy the locations they're using for parts of the first 2 episodes. So we're really looking forward to the April 23rd premiere on BBCA. I expect there will be much squeeing in our house that night.

Not to thread-jack...

Here's a little fun fact about Russell Tovey. After he appeared in the Doctor Who episode, he became Russell T. Davies pick for being the 11th Doctor. I was partial to David Tennant, but figured Russell would have been nice eye-candy. David left as homage to RTD, or so the story goes.

On a side note: I have to admit though, as much as I feared change, I really am loving Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. I'm really looking forward to the next season on BBC-A where they are actually in America. Absolutely LOVE the promos they've been showing since Christmas.

I started watching the original on BBC America and i liked it alot but I gotta say I'm liking the Syfy version a bit better. Yes; I've had a huge crush on Sam Whitwer ever since BSG and The Force Unleashed and he needs to just be shirtless at all times (hubba hubba). I really like Sam Huntington as Josh because he always looks so angst-ridden and lost and he really is just adorable. He was on Not Another Teen Movie. I do like the original girl who plays Sally more than the new one on Syfy though. I think they're acting is just as good as the originals so I'm going to continue to watch both. Thank God for DVR!

... it's interesting to see how much faster the UK version unfolds and how much more the American version seems to need to explain, embellish, or particularly dwell on the vampire sex/gore angle.

Yes. This.

Before I gave up watching the American version, I found myself thinking: show, don't tell! I hate it when the writers feel the need to explain things, instead of demonstrating them. It's like the writers are talking down to us, or don't have any faith that we can figure it out on our own.

(But, yeah, I still wouldn't throw either Sam Witwer or Aidan Turner out of bed for eating crackers.)

Thanks for the friend addition, the bulk of our time online is usually Weds-Sat and like I said, we will be sure to keep an eye out.

Our squad is new, but the remaining members are veterans.

I look forward to chatting more with you. I will be out of game for a couple days, but have forum access. Feel free to send me a message letting me know what you are interested in.

Thanks,

Re: Getting to know you.

I suppose i ought to reintroduce myself. I joined the fleet in march last year, but after levelling I found the endgame content to be lacking and so I went back to World of Warcraft.

Since then I've been quite busy, I got a job as a flash game developer, bought an appartment and got married. (I also graduated college in february '10, so it was quite the year).

The only downside of my new job is the 2 hour travel distance, which meant that I no longer had the time or energy to play warcraft at a hardcore raider level as I had for 4 years previous.

So I decided to check in again at Star Trek Online to see how the game has improved over the past years, and boy has it ever!

I'm levelling a new Science officer, Snownovae@Snownova, currently at commander. My old toon Snow@Snownova was a RA engineer, but being my first char I made some major mistakes levelling him.

Hiya all!

I'm @Raikoh in game. I'm currently in another Fleet (Synergy), but like Altimus, Stonewall caught my eye. I like my fleet and they are great people, but its nice to have a "sanctuary" I can be myself with others outside of my fleet, maybe even talk to and joke around with. I hope that I get know all of you and become a "Honorary Member" :P Cheers!
