that is harsh. Is it only a weekend beta? In any case, the game is coming out soon. If you already preordered then you don't want to necessarily spend too much time in game anyways, etc. but yeah.. suxxors.
I believe they recently just released, or are soon to release, an updated game client for a new wave of testing. My fiance is a regular tester, but I haven't seen him play in the last few days.
I don't know why I just couldn't get into Oblivion. It just never gripped me and I tried 2 or 3 times to get into it. I started with a sword wielder, then when I restarted felt absolutely useless as an archer. I guess that's why Skyrim isn't on my radar at the moment. Maybe that will change with a killer Steam deal like Sean mentioned.
I'm STILL playing Batman: Arkham City (just finished my second play through) 3 weeks later and I can't wait for Saint's Row 3 and Assassin's Creed next week. Those should get me through until SWTOR's Early Access starts. First quarter next year is going to be harder with SWTOR competing directly against Diablo 3 and Mass Effect 3 (there's a series I've played through 3 or 4 times now) for my time.
I scheduled this weekend to spend from 8am till 5pm both days taking a Motorcycle driving course, at the end i will have an endorsement to legally drive a motorcycle. Money is paid, non refundable at this point.
Guess what i just got in the mail from Bioware? **insert expletives galore**
KOTOR will be there when you get home in the evenings and every day thereafter. I had a blast taking the motorcycle training and the few months I got to ride before I hurt my back. You won't regret it.

Hey! So, I havent played STO for awhile now but I just got open beta access to SWTOR last night... yay!! I remember that stonewall had a guild for it so I was wondering if I could join when I get into the game and how I'd find it? I'm glad to see old and new faces here in my favorite MMO guild :)
Oh and when STO goes free-to-play I may play again :)
I just finished this mission a couple minutes ago and HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS FANTASTIC! Far and away the best Foundry mission I've played (though to be fair, I haven't played a lot). That was a true 'Star Trek' mission. It had diplomacy, discovery, intrigue, and a bit of action. I also loved the concept of the City of the Polmar Ree. I actually went to check the Memory Alpha wiki to learn more about it because I was sure you got it from a Star Trek episode. Imagine my surprise when I found this was something of your own creation! Fantastic!
I only have one critique, and I'll leave it in the spoiler section below.
I wasn't a fan of the Klingon ambush when you blow the turbolift doors. Or, more specifically, I didn't like how the respawn point is right in the middle of the battle. When I got killed, I just started right back there. It suddenly made everything feel very "game-y", and ruined the immersion for that small part of the mission. I'd recommend moving the respawn point a bit farther away.
Speaking of the turbolift, I LOVED THE FREE-FALL BEAM-OUT! THAT WAS AWESOME!
By the way, I am going to need to ask you how you did all that cool event scripting. The parts in the USS Kelso were just so cool!
Ahh, exciting! The early access window falls during my (weird) days off at work. Now I just have to hope we end up on the same server as my brother's and all is well.
I never played Morrowind, but I loved Oblivion. I have my gold Septim coin here at my computer "The Empire is Law. The Law is Sacred. Praise be Akatosh, and all the Divines". I love it when a game creates a rich backstory to base the game on. Hmm, I guess I can always play Skyrim until the 20th, then save other play throughs for later.
I was actually attempting to decide between Skyrim and Zelda: Skyward Sword. I ended up going with Skyward Sword for two reasons:
1. It might be good to wait and see if Steam has a ridiculous holiday sale, like they do every year.
2. Since it's the holiday season, I wanted to be able to play games in the same room as my Christmas tree, and my PC (preferred platform for Skyrim) is not in that room. :P
That whole "up to 5 days" thing bothers me. My friend preordered recently and he and I want to level up together. I preordered in september or october, so I may be in "up to 5 days" ahead of him, meaning (at the rate I level up currently) that I will have to wait "up to 5 days" to start playing unless I want to out level him.
ALTS!!! :D
Exactly. Pick a class to play with your friend and then play something else while waiting for him to be able to join.
