The latter makes sense: reserving the name on your account, then deleting it when your friend is ready to play.

The only thing I'd worry about is having someone reserve my name, then I get installed and ready to play, but have to wait for my friend to get home from work 5 hours later so they can delete the character and I can claim my name. But I'm just impatient that way. ;-)

That is the way it would work.

I would reserve names for folks but I have to work on the 15th, I may get out early but there is no guarantee so you will have to wait till I get home before I can delete the toons with the saved names.

Exactly :)

And we don't exactly need only people who are free all day the first day of early play, just anyone who wants to try.

For example, I'd love to have the name "Angel" and take the legacy name "Silhouette" :3 If 5 people from Stonewall were able to get on in the first 2 days, tried it and one of them got it, I'd be ecstatic. ^.^

Re: What server are the guilds going to be on?

December 01 2011
I think as long as we have players bi-coastally, etc. it shouldn't matter. I'm in Texas but work in nightlife, so I play very odd hours. I bet we can get late night groups or off hour groups together easily with a guild this large at launch.

On another note myn install for last beta got stuck on an asset as well. Hopefully a patch is all that's needed.

I didn't have time to search rockjaw's twitter account. Here are the links to the info now:
http://twitter.com/#!/Rockjaw/status/141542248159522816
http://twitter.com/#!/Rockjaw/status/141535439839436801

So basically everyone can patch. If you didn't install it last week, they recommend a full re-install. If i remember correctly, last weeks patch didn't replace old files, but put the new files next to the old files.

Bummer, well, I hope it is not as difficult to download as the last time I downloaded the game, it got stuck on an asset.

I believe if you were in this past weekends Beta Event you may only have to patch to the full "official" or "gold" release. I know when I logged in last night to see if we could play because we were on Leviathan one of the permanent beta servers if we could still play and I received another big patch. But we will just have to wait 2.5 weeks to see.

I like it, but how would we "transfer" the name to said friend?

Exactly!... In reality you would need to login under that person's account to reserve that name for said friend. Unless you could make a Avatar with that name under your account and then delete that Avi once your friend was able to login and access the character creator thus releasing the name. /shrugs

I is totally confused on these skills, I understand that crew skills are skills that your crew can use right? or are they able to be used by your character as well? or totally different? Another thing, I thought the skill diplomacy made you more "charming" and enables you to talk your way out of a situation, why biochem?

Re: Sith Guild

I tried out the Imperial Agent this last weekend and I loved the fact that while I was still with the Empire, I did not feel the need to be "dark". I could make my own choices on how I felt about the situations etc, etc. So I ended up enjoying that story line very much. The previous instance, when I played as a Jedi Knight, I felt the need to be "light" so I would not taint my character, though having a tainted character sounds a lot more fun than being a straight up "goody good shoes".

Oh fiddle sticks. I was in last weekends beta as well as one earlier in the month. So it sounds like I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game closer to launch.

Edit; I'm a goof, need to do a full install anyways as I have a new gaming computer coming this week. Oh well.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

November 30 2011
In most mmo's I like to craft and work hard to get my skill to max. I usually pick a craft that I can use on a majority of my toons. I tend to play a lot of alts so eventually I end up with all the skills.

So far in beta I've F up all my crafting, picking gathering skills that do not go with the crafting skill I choose. LOL But it was beta and the perfect place to make mistakes.

Question: What crew skills most interest you?

The ones I think are fun don't go with each other. Oh well such is life.

Question: What questions do you have about crafting in SW:TOR?

I'm still fuzzy on crew skills, aren't those your crafting skills? example if I go Armstech aren't my crew skills scavenging and investigation? I like diplomacy but found that it was only useful for biochem. so picking a skill based on the name wasn't the smartest thing I did. :)

I'll probably start my first char with something I think my toons could use, example: smuggler I'll probably go Armstech, with my trooper I might go biochem. since this last beta I did a bit of research and figured out what goes with what. :) I love your list and have saved it to my files.

Question: Do you consider yourself a "hardcore" crafter or more of a dabbler

I guess I would consider myself a hard core crafter, I see this as part of the game and fun in game. Yes I bitch about it while doing it but I do like it.

Question: What resources would you like to see on our web site to support crafters?

I love links to useful resources on any part of the game, also quick guides posted on the forums that I can turn to for basic information without having to go anywhere else.

Question: Are you you interested in offering your crafted items or gathered materials to other guild members?

If I have extra crafting stuff that I'm not using I don't mind offering them up to guildies. Having more folks with maxed skill provides a bigger pool that helps everyone in the guild. I also will make anything in my patterns list for anyone.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

November 30 2011
Aldente, thanks for the post. I was crafter in Stonewall in STO. But, I've essentially stopped playing STO for various reasons. However, I do plan to invest significant time into SWTOR and look forward to many parts of it including crafting.

I only got to play for a short time this past beta, but in response to your questions from my limited knowledge about SWTOR crafting:

What questions do you have about crafting in SW:TOR?

I think you answered part of this in your original post. I think knowing more about all of the different professions and knowing which ones go together best will be very important.

Outside of that, I am curious to know if we will have a shared guild bank for items?
Also, will there be a commission type system or will everything go on the broker if choose to sell it?

What crew skills most interest you?

I'm not sure I know enough to even answer this question.

Do you consider yourself a "hardcore" crafter or more of a dabbler?

In STO, I had 3 toons that were maxed in crafting, 2 feds and 1 klink. You can infer from there.

Are you interested in offering your crafted items or gathered materials to other guild members?

Absolutely! I think the setup and intentions used in STO could very easily be adapted to SWTOR. Isn't helping each other why we're a part of an awesome group? I even think we'll have a STWOR store to sell items to non-guild people once things get settled and organized.

What resources would you like to see on our web site to support crafters?

Infromation is key. You posted torhead.com which will be a great start. I think write-ups and links to information sites would be great. Having a site that categorizes the professions would be great. I do know that some professions are true crafting professions and some are crew skills that allow your companions to go off on missions to gather things.

I hope this helps!

Yep, tried out Jedi Knight first, then Sith Warrior and finally Sith Inquisitor. The Inquisitor was VERY fun. Loved my horny red devil.

Game play also seemed better and more fluid with the Inquisitor.

Eventually, I will try out all the classes with Light vs Dark to find my perfect character.

After 7 years of raiding in WoW my desire to raid in any mmo has greatly decreased.

I'm willing to help anyone get raid ready, we can run instances, crafting what ever you guys need to get you there. When your in the raid I'll sit on the sidelines and cheer you guys on! :)

I am with Van on this.. I have been playing MMOs since Day 1 of EQ, so I not a real "End Gamer" I love being social and the pure enjoyment of the interactions with the guild.. I will craft all the gear you want, that I am making, but that will be my contribution to raiding.

As for helping people get ready to Raid.. I am in, I love to run instances and help new or very casual players catchup... Put my on the social committee

There must be something wrong with me because I can not bring myself to make dark side choices, or even to play as a Sith. If I played as an Emprire toon I would be a good Bounty Hunter.

You know it's funny I had a similar issue, playing a male Sith toon I projected myself into the character and couldn't bring myself to be evil. Was sparing people left and right.

But then this weekend I made a female Sith Inquisitor and loved being evil and frying inferior pathetic whelps with my lightning. Mwahahaha!

So yeah, guess I'm weird. lol

I will say I found myself with the same issue.. I tried so hard to stay Dark all the way, but the were a few choices I just couldn't do, and I think a couple choices that I never expected to be "Light"
